I previously had blonde highlights and asked for all over color that was light reddish brown and I emphasized "more red than brown". I also wanted bangs and showed a picture of what I wanted. Unfortunately I ended up walking out really disappointed. My color is a different shade of red and is significantly darker, they did say that they did it a little darker because the previous highlights will lighten but that's a conversation that should happen before my service not when you see the disappointment on my face after I see the color. Also the bangs are really bad, one they are not anything like the picture I showed before they were cut and the sides are uneven. I will say that every one was very sweet and the color of my hair is pretty but not what I asked for.

I've always wanted to be a true copper, and it never turned out right--it was always too dark, muddy, or my hair ended up feeling fried. Tatum completely changed that experience for me. She made me feel genuinely heard and seen. Every step of the way, she explained what she was doing, walked me through the process, and made sure I loved it before moving forward. I never once felt rushed or overlooked. I honestly never wanted to step foot in another salon again, but Tatum and the staff at Personal Touch Salon changed that for me. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I didn't feel like just another client--I felt cared for, valued, and truly taken care of. I think this company is crooked. They took my wedding deposit in January after my clearly…read morecommunicating that the amount of wedding services was not defined. They added services to the contract that I had not yet confirmed and when 50+ days out from the wedding I gave them confirmation, they said I could not make changes to the contract and that I would be on the hook for the cash regardless of services being provided. The $250 "deposit" is not a deposit and does not go towards your total cost... it's just an extra fee they slap on for funzies. Additionally, they demanded a 25% gratuity be paid 1 month prior to services being performed. On top of this, the contract was written TERRIBLY and in no way shape or form protects the client. In fact, it explicitly states that even if they choose not to show up and perform services, the client is on the hook for paying the full amount. To top it all off, I tried to get Ruth (the stylist) on the phone from January to May. She never even attempted a phone call and then upon my canceling her services, though it was ethical to keep my deposit. So, I paid $250 dollars for zero time spent on me and zero customer service provided. Companies that conduct business like this disgust me. There are thousands of other hairstylists that provide wonderful customer service and flexibility, especially for weddings. As we all know, weddings are stressful enough. Go with a hairstylist that understands this, not Ruth, not Lily Flower. UPDATE: after leaving several reviews for Lily Flower, they began to dispute my reviews to further hide their crookedness. See attached photo.

I tried a few new stylists at other salons after I moved closer into town, yet when I started working near the airport, I switched to the Alamo Heights location. Hannah's been my stylist for several years now. While I stopped working near the airport years ago, I still drive to get my hair done by Hannah. Now and then I have tried stylists who are closer, yet it wasn't a good fit. Hannah knows my style - feathered highlights and dimension that is subtle and not over the top. As for the cut, she knows I like to keep my hair low-maintenance with ability to curl, wave, or straighten my hair. Her work is consistent. Hannah's super easy to chat with as well, and I appreciate that she asks how my child's doing each time. We both love music and travel, and most of our convos are around those two topics.

I came to her hoping for a…read moresun-kissed highlight look, specifically inspired by pictures I presented to her, and left feeling completely unsatisfied. From the start, I communicated my concerns clearly and politely, expressing that the highlights didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I was told I could come back to have more highlights added, especially on my new growth, and while I was initially willing to give her a second chance, things only went downhill from there. Upon my appointment, I was only charged for the haircut and the products used, with the understanding that I would pay the remaining balance when the job was finished. The next day, however, I received a call from Kersten saying that she felt unable to achieve the results I wanted and suggested I find another stylist. This is completely unprofessional--no experienced or competent stylist would simply give up on a client's request like that. Instead of working with me to fix the issue, she abandoned me with dark roots that were left visible for four inches and avoided highlighting my bangs altogether. The result looked nothing like the blended, sun-kissed highlights I requested; instead, I was left with a harsh, dark rooted look that was far from what I asked for. I have never encountered a stylist so unwilling to correct a mistake, especially when it could have been easily fixed with a few additional highlights. The lack of effort and unwillingness to ensure my satisfaction was beyond frustrating. I would not recommend Kersten to anyone. She should have done everything in her power to make things right, but instead, she left me feeling completely ignored and dissatisfied with my hair. If I could leave 0 star review I would! To make matters worse, even the salon owner Diane failed to take any responsibility for the situation. It is clearly stated in the salon's own policy that if a client is unhappy, they will be given the opportunity to have the issue corrected. That promise was completely disregarded. Despite my efforts to address the problem respectfully and through the proper channels, no one took accountability--not even the person in charge. This is absolutely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and customer care within this establishment. To allow an incompetent colorist to botch a service and then do nothing to rectify it is not only unprofessional, it's downright negligent. This entire experience was a nightmare, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!
