A cut above. We were amazed by the excellent service by front desk as well as breakfast staff, making our 4 day say comfortable and enjoyable. The front desk was very accommodating for a room change after the first night in a room in a far corner of the hotel facing the freeway with single pane windows emiting freeway traffic noise and cool air. The new room was close to the lobby, facing the quiet courtyard with better insulated windows. Gracious in fulfilling our request. The breakfast included with the accommodation is in a warmly decorated restaurant area served by highly professional and accommodating staff, offering help and filling and clearing items with quick precision. The made to order omelets were professionally made with fresh ingredients and the breakfast bar was likely one of the best stocked and well maintained I have experienced with fresh pastries and constantly refilled hot items. For the Southwest District Kiwanis Convention, I stayed at this location for a room rate of $109/night. Though I live only about 20 miles from this location, I figured it would be worth a stay to try a new location and the convenience while attending the convention for the weekend. Plus it's always nice to check out the amenities on property and dining options. A staycation since it's too hot to do much else in the summer! Upon checking in on July 19th, it was made clear they were impacted by Crowdstrike issue that a lot of the country experienced. This resulted in needing to fill out and sign an authorization form with our credit card information, which I'm always weary of. The staff apologized for the need for this and the longer than usual check in process. Overall, it resulted in about a 15-20 minute wait to check in. When I entered the room, I noticed it was very spacious as it was a suite which is always nice. When I went to the bathroom, I noticed an odor that smelled like urine. My hope was that it would dissipate or that I wasn't actually smelling it. Unfortunately, the smell was persistent in my stay and housekeeping didn't come during my two night stay like I had hoped. Some other Hilton locations do daily housekeeping. This could be a policy since Covid as many places don't have housekeeping unless requested. During check in they didn't specify, so I hoped they would come and clean the bathroom to get rid of the odor. With the convention and activities, I didn't get to tell staff until my checkout which I hope they've resolved for the next guest. Though that did result in a slight decline of my stay (4 Stars), it was a pleasant stay overall. I enjoyed that breakfast was included in the stay and delighted with the array of options. Isidro was the amazing omelette chef who whipped up a tasty omelette for me both days I stopped in for breakfast. The service at both the bar and the breakfast restaurant was great! Love that they offer a complimentary beverage for a nightly cocktail hour to welcome you to your stay. In addition to the food options available for hotel guests, the convention had a plated banquet the last evening that I attended (included photos). I must say the service and quality of food was well worth the cost of the meal that I paid through Kiwanis. This is the second time I've had a banquet at Hilton property and I will definitely use them if I have a need to host one myself. Uhh, let me first say this - we are Embassy Suites regulars. You really can't beat this chain as far as what they provide to travelers, especially those with kids. Free breakfast, happy hour with comp drinks, washer and dryer. We've stayed at ES locations throughout the US. This joint is a little questionable. Not the usual ES layout. Here, it's on par with most Phoenix area, large hotels - sprawling grounds, confusing signage, hard to find rooms. Anyway, we got our room which was comparable in appeal to a Motel 6. The pillows were about 12 inches by 12 inches. Tiny. Weird. The toilet did not flush properly. We notified the front desk who responded with a plunger. "It just drains slow, I'll leave you the plunger." Uh ok. The next day, they made good and hooked us up with a different room, but c'mon. At least the breakfast was good. read more

I've stayed here 3 or 4 times in last 18 months. Place is a bit of a dump but it works for my needs. Feels like a bit of a run down motel but the location is convenient. Rooms are clean but property is showing its age. Bathrooms a little dark and rooms could use a new paint job but mattresses are comfortable enough. Nice staff. Very liberal "free drinks" offer during happy hour. Think it's supposed to be 1 or 2 free drink tickets per room but throw the bartender a $20 and you're drinking until you can't drink anymore. Breakfast is actually rather good and it's included in the price of your room. read more

This property is older, and needs an update. But, it was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. They had a very nice happy hour every evening, the shining star of our stay was the bartender Lacy. She was always smiling Ang so personable and friendly, with us and everyone that came in. She genuinely seemed interested in getting to know each person she met. I would return anytime if I knew she was there! A definite asset to that hotel. read more

For the price, It was a nice room. The only problem was the ceiling looked like it was leaking and leaked onto the sheets. We found our room like that. But it is a cheap hotel so that is to be expected I guess.. the breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Other than the ceiling and sheets, the room was clean. This was the worst embassy I have ever stayed out. Don't book the rooms that face the highway, the window doesn't shut all the way and all you hear is noise all night. My room smelled like smoke. The bath tub didn't drain, they did come and try and fix that which left an awful rotting garbage smell that they tried to fix by leaving the window open while I was gone. Carpets were stained, mold in the bathroom, and the pillows are miniature and lumpy. They did offer me a new room but I was so unhappy I left a day early on my no refund room and went somewhere else. This was the worst Embassy Suites I've ever stayed at. The lamp shades were dirty, the beds were old and link, the pillows were flat, and plum out bed had a huge dip in the middle. We were in room 101 and I honestly couldn't wait to leave in the morning. I didn't take pictures but I don't v recommend. I like the open layout of this hotel. It's late Spring right now, and their courtyard has several Jacaranda trees in full scent-sational bloom, with hummingbirds buzzing around and house finches singing a melody. The staff is all very friendly, especially the white-haired gentleman from Ireland (Simon maybe?). Made-to-order breakfast omelettes are included with the room, along with lots of other breakfast offerings. The hotel is a bit dated, but I stay here regularly and am mostly ok with it. The water pressure struggles in some rooms. The AC will only let you set it down to 68, which is not cool enough for me to sleep, and it won't let you keep the fan on so it kicks off and on all night. My main reason for a hotel is sleep, so this is always an issue for me and the reason for a 3 star review. The location is not the best without a car. read more

I'm not sure why this place has such a bad rap. Yes it's a little old, but the service was pretty great and the rooms were clean. I booked a king 1 bedroom which included a second story balcony that overlooked the pool area. It was super spacious and worked perfectly for our needs. It did smell a little like strong cleaner or cologne but I'd rather it smell like that than some awful smoke or BO. The pool was great! Both warm and clean! The bar reception was ok, bottom shelf liquor but hey it was free and the bartenders were nice. I do wish the snacks were a little better as it was definitely on the weaker side compared to other embassy suites I've stayed at. The customer service at the desk was good but the real highlight was the free made to order breakfast. They had both regular and egg white omelettes with about a dozen options. They also had the full breakfast spread including eggs, bacon , sausage, breakfast potatoes, french toast sticks oatmeal, cereal, fruit, soda, coffee tea, juice and other stuff I can't remember. read more

This hotel is conveniently located, clean, and the entire staff is very, very friendly. I also think it's a good value because I received a free cocktail coupon (nightly) and free breakfast (daily). There is a fitness center, outdoor pool, bar area with TVs, on-site restaurant, free wifi and all those expected services. The rooms are very large with a living space / office / kitchen space* along with a separate bedroom with the bathroom. The king bed was comfortable with maybe 4-5 pillows (thank you!) and clean bedding. Comfort rating 4/5. *Small fridge, micro, coffee machine The bathroom was a decent size... one sink, low toilet, tub/shower. The tub faucet dripped but again, I felt it was all clean. I didn't love the products (soaps, shampoo, etc.) but I usually bring my own so not an issue. The breakfast has a great selection: Fresh fruits, made to order omelets, other hot options, cereals, bagels. Everyone should find what they want. read more

We stayed here last week as a part of a stay and play for travel baseball. Can't say that I love the price of nearly $400 a night but other than that it was great. We had a room for five on the main floor by the pool. Two beds in the main room and a separate room with a pull out couch, tv, desk, sink, microwave and mini fridge. Perfect for five. All of the staff was awesome and pretty great seeing as there were tween boys every where. The gentleman at the host stand in the breakfast restaurant everymorning we were there was the best. He greeted us, joked around, helped with info. Really just a solid dude that enjoys what he does or the people he serves. The breakfast buffet was great. Omelet station and they will Give you a to go box if needed on the run. The bartenders are quite interesting. Heard a lot of chatter about how unfriendly the one of the ladies was that was there two of the nights. Good luck at getting her to say much or smile, but I didn't think she was all that bad. Do not stay at this Hilton property. The hotel itself is dated and dusty. The management is terrible. We realized the day we returned that a drawer full of clothing had been left behind. We called the next day...No returned calls, I had to continue to call. Finally over a week later I get a manager on the phone, our items "are not on property" So the cleaning crew either stole our belongs or threw them out. Not returned to lost and found. Popcorn ceilings... That's it, that could be the entire review, but I'll go on. We stayed at this location for 3 nights and were so disappointed. The property is completely unkempt and not at all reflective of the Embassy Suites brand. The rooms are dated and dirty. The fan filter was so dusty it was black. Housekeeping did not visit our room once during our entire stay. We came back to our room one day and noticed the bathroom sink smelled and was filled with dirt/dark material. There maybe an issue with plumbing. Each room has a thermostat but it doesn't work. First morning we didn't have hot water. Windows in rooms are single pane making it loud for a hotel located next to the freeway. Not a single reason I would recommend this property. I will think twice before booking an Embassy Suites stay in the future. read more

Just a no! We have stayed at many hotels and this one just isn't it. It needs a huge renovation. They aren't putting a single penny back into this place. The only thing I can say was a positive was the front desk staff. Jackie and Doris are absolutely amazing. They lacquered the bar furniture and not one sign was posted they painted it and that day my new coat and pair of pants were damaged even after the damage was shown to the staff the next day there was still no signs to stay off, the table and chairs were still wet and others were complaining about their clothing being damaged, just a mess. There is no space in this hotel for the amount of guests both that b booked with hotel and not booked. There is no real area for the guests to hang out in the lobby. There is a bar area and a very small gathering area. They do not want outside food coming in our party was told that was a no. Which is absolutely ridiculous since we are in a hotel and not at home. We shouldn't have to limit ourselves and be limited to our room. It's just not a good setup at all. They rented out the dining area for a party tons and tons of people right at the entrance of the hotel , just very crazy in there lots of intoxicated people loud music couldn't even hear yourself and this is right in the entrance you couldn't sit and relax or have a drink if you wanted too tons of traffic in and out. Very very uncomfortable not peaceful or enjoyable. One laundry unit for the entire hotel. Definitely wouldn't recommend, not in a desirable area. read more

The location is perfect. Centrally located in the business district of Tempe -- shopping, gas stations fast food and up-scale restaurants are all easily accessible -- and being located right off Hwy-60 at Rural Rd. you can be at Sky Harbor International Airport in less than 10 minutes! The room was clean, the square footage was generous, the bed was extremely comfortable, the heating and cooling system was integrated rather than those annoying units that are stuck in the wall and blow on the bed all night. The free, made to order breakfast, complete with an omelette station was outstanding as was the complementary evening reception (inc. 2 free drinks generously poured). The food at the restaurant was pricey but very good. Overall the stay was great with the best part being the professional, friendly, courteous and efficient staff. STAFF MEMBERS THAT DESERVE RECOGNITION: From top to bottom the staff here is nothing short of excellent and a pleasure to deal with. Starting with GM Ted Trembath, his assistant GM Lucinda, the very most awesome Jessica the front desk veteran who knows everything and goes out of her way to take personal care of the guests. Adrian a front desk manager we encountered upon check-in and who helped us get checked in efficiently and easily, Aaron, Greg, and the extremely pleasant Jacki -- we thank you all! We were displaced from out house for 28 days due to a leak. I did have a preference for Hilton because I am a diamond member, so we did stay here because it was conveniently located and was pet friendly. But it was a long stay and I mean every bit of those 28 days were horrible. This hotel didn't try to give us any type of perks that are typical of a diamond membership. To be honest, aside from Gabriella (maid service) and Isidor (omelette chef extraordinaire), and Jocelyn (front desk) most if not all the staff I interacted with were either indifferent on the best or outright rude on the worst, most notably Frederick. The mattress is probably 6 years past needing to be replaced. Every morning I woke up needing to have 30 minutes of not moving just to let my body settle in after waking up in that much pain. The toilets are lowboys, after recovering from a severe knee injury this was problematic. We were supposed to be booked into a accessible room but when we found out we weren't they could not accommodate us because there was at least one to two days that it would not be available. Yet they wouldn't look past the original 14 days we were supposed to be there when I told them we were going to be extended for additional 14 days. I just gave up trying because It was very apparent that despite us being a good customer they were not inclined to help. On your second to last morning here, a huge cockroach runs into my son's room. I do know they spray because I've been there long enough to have had them spray heavily outside my door which the gap allowed it to spray into the room and having a small dog in there made me very worried. As the carpet was soaked! Suggestions for Management: 1. Seal the gaps in your doors 2. Since you are a non-smoking hotel enforce it! I was tired of having people mingle outside of my hotel room chain smoking. 3. Replace your toilets, especially since you only have six accessible rooms. 4. Not enough handicap parking! 5. Take down the tacky useless pictures in the bathroom that are just prone to mildew because of hot showers, and add some more hooks and racks. One tiny hook is not enough for any bathroom! 6. Treat your customers who are spending a month there and paying for two rooms with a little decency! read more

We were greeted with a warm welcome and an immediate upgrade before we checked in The staff was super warm and gave my kiddos a bunch of snacks to enjoy in the room. After checking in and heading to our room, we did notice that this place was older. Not the typical embassy that we stay at. Nothing was bad. Just noticed the older feel. The room was very nice. Had all the room that we needed. We popped down to the managers happy hour and the bartenders were great. The breakfast was probably the best we have had in our travels. There was a bunch of options and not crowded in the seating area All in all, regardless of the lower Yelp reviews, we would stay here again for sure. I went online and reserved a room. I love the ability to do everything from my hilton app. I checked in and chose my own room and was able to use my phone to open my door. The only interaction I had with staff was at the amazing free breakfast in their restraurant. They also have a nightly reception too but we didn't go. The 2 room suite was amazing. The room was very clean. Very quiet. I have no complaints! Easy access to the freeway and other needed places. I thought the price was fair even though we were there on the weekend and on a NASCAR sanctioned event that was going on. This really is a beautiful property and VERY LARGE! We went here for a relaxing Staycation. The hotel room was tiny and gross. The carpet was crunchy. The mini fridge was slanted so when you open it... everything rolls out. The white curtains were shredded like a cougar came through. The view of the road was awful and we could hear the highway. The manager Carlos, was a complete jerk and harassed us the entire time. I'll start with one bad, and that is part of the room design. When sitting at the desk it is difficult to see the TV that is on the same wall facing away from the desk. Other than that, this hotel is great. The people are super nice and helpful The rest of the room design, for the 2 room king suite, is nice and cozy. Small fridge, small microwave, seating area, and desk. The pillows, all 4, were too soft but the bed is comfortable. This is my 4th visit and it's always cool to see the bunnies running around, even though I only saw 1 this time. Nice pool area, decent fitness center, and sprawling property. My husband showed me his feet walking on the carpet in the room!! ICK DIRTY! Housekeeping only showed up one, at 8:30am on a Saturday morning. Bed was so hard we did not sleep well at all (that and the highway noise!) We had to call the front desk to ask for clean towels as no housekeeping showed up while we were out. Would I return? NO! There's plenty of parking on the side when we came in. The whole front area parking was full. There were a couple of people in line at the reception desk when we walked up and it was only one gentleman helping everybody. A young lady came out from the back and was looking around the lobby and bar area before responding to help the young man check people in. He was taking a while with this gentleman before my husband so she finally called my husband over to help check him in. She did give us the rundown which a lot of people forget to do, regarding breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour, etc. As well as giving us a piece of paper with info and map, so kudos to her for that portion, but she should have a sense of urgency and greet all guests whether she's able to help or not. The store is very small, but packed with lots of options and extra items from clear eyes to laundry soap. It's only a 3 level hotel, but very spread out. The pool is in the middle and outdoors. Lots of people were enjoying it! It looks clean and inviting. The elevator looks old and tired. Very small, but it does its job well. Our room 210 ended up being in a corner by the freeway so we can hear all of the traffic which sucks. It kept me awake all night. We are also literally right next to the ice and vending machines and it's been busy since we've been here and the ice is very loud. Hubby is here for work so I stayed in and ordered on the first night, well, tried. There's no menu in room so I looked up Urban Craft via Yelp and seen a customer posted a menu that I didn't find interesting. I decided to google Urban Craft since it was just one page on Yelp and found interest in the Lemon chicken with baby carrots and whipped potatoes. Yummy sounding. First I called via phone button for restaurant and no answer. Then I remembered reading in the elevator to dial 7775 so I called that and no one answered. Called both again and still no answer. Upon looking at my room key I noticed there's a discount to eat at restaurant so I decided to go down. I expected it to be busy since no one answered any of my 4 calls, but there was only 1 couple there eating. The bar had about 7 people, but they were all enjoying happy hour drinks. I asked the host which one is correct and he said the chicken with spinach and white beans is. Yuck. Grabbed a cherry coke and sour cream chips for $7 total and the gentleman offered me a list of places around here to eat. He's awesome! Btw, the girl and guy from earlier were both at one register/computer and the girl did not greet me or respond to my approaching the reception desk to pay for items...the young man took me over to the one he was at earlier. She needs some customer service training! What I'm finding so far is the staff can use some more training in having a sense of urgency and communicating to guests with a smile if not words. Our room has very stained carpet and stained couch. The bathroom desperately needs updated and cleaned better. Went to breakfast wanting just toast, but the toaster wasn't working and neither of the 2 staff members manning it were helpful at all. In fact, the old lady was on her phone. The biscuits for biscuits and gravy were very dense like they weren't fully cooked before throwing them in heating pan, potatoes were dry from being overcooked, and the French toast was more like ver cold and hard butter bread. The muffin was hard and rock solid, maybe just taken out of a freezer? 4 hours later after sitting in my room, it was edible and not bad. Hopefully tomorrow the toaster is working so I can have toast :-) At 11:43pm we were forced to get up, dressed, and head outside for a fire alarm that thankfully only lasted for about 5 minutes. 9am hubby requested a late check out bec I didn't sleep again due to the traffic noise, but at noon a male housekeeper tried coming in and spent a good 4 minutes talking g thru the door....i told him we spoke to the front desk early this morning! Move on! Call them. Stop bothering me. We would not stay here again or recommend it. The one star is for the front desk saying we could check out at 2pm, but nothing else nice to say about our 3 day stay. read more

Spent many night of my travels to Mesa and enjoyed staying at Hilton Embassy Suites Tempe. My last stay I had no hot water the entire stay. The problem was checked by maintenance and house keeping twice two separate days but never resolved. I was told my stay would be reimbursed but wasn't. I really needed a shower and they wouldn't move me to another room either. I must of smell real bad and then spent the one of my day in the ER with my father and couldn't shower off after and perhaps that how I got the the flu on my return home. So, I am looking for another hotel to stay on my monthly visits. read more

When staying in a suite with 2 doubles and a sofa bed, 2 bath towels are simply not enough. Then comes the shower pump amenities...finding the shower gel is empty mid shower SUCKS! Stayed here for a week with my hubby for his work. We loved having two rooms and that there was a TV in each room so when my husband went to bed earlier than me I was able to close the door and watch TV in the other room. We had a microwave and small fridge so it didn't hold much however it held enough for me. The air was central not a swamp cooler or window unit and it worked very well however it was super loud. We were right off the freeway so we constantly heard cars driving at all hours off the day and night but I wore earplugs to bed and I was fine. The bathroom was really nice but tiny and it came with a hair dryer and soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Hubby went down to the complimentary breakfast buffet every morning and said it was delicious and always a variety I was just sad it ended at 9 because I was never able to enjoy them. The pool was beautiful, I never went it but looked nice. There is a beautiful courtyard where the pool is also some grass for dogs to use the bathroom and some tables and chairs. The elevator was super sketchy but it didn't stop us from using it and we never had any issues. The lobby was beautiful where they have some conference rooms, a bar, a restaurant however I wouldn't call it a restaurant I think it's more of a place with tables where you can eat food from the bar. Every day they had complimentary drinks like wine, beer etc. also a snack table that was also complimentary. There was a tiny area where they sold ice cream, snacks, drinks and some essentials in case you forgot anything at home including some medications like Tylenol. There was a sign for pricing but no info on how to pay I'm assuming you charge it to the room but not positive on that. There isn't anything to do on property except swim and go to their exercise room. There's not much around within walking distance. There's a Denny's right across the street also a small shopping center where there's a coffee shop (we didn't go so I don't know how it tastes) there's plenty of places near by to drive to for food and shopping it's also about 3 miles from ASU and downtown Tempe. I went to baseball game, 9:30 at night it was still 100 degrees. Came in lobby looking for a glass of water. Turn the corner and in the conference room, they had a big NRA meeting going on and they were doing auctioning. I could hear them I would never of stayed in a hotel that catered to the NRA. read more

The hotel is OK. The location is good. The gym is really lacking in equipment other than cardio equipment. But none of that is why I rated the hotel as a two. The reason I rated it as a two was because last night when I was parked in the hotel parking lot, someone decided to key my car door as you can see in the picture. I called the hotel to let them know he spoke with the manager Lucinda. Lucinda told me that there were no cameras in the parking lot and basically there's nothing she could do tonight. It's not even what she said that bothered me. It was how she said it. rather than trying some empathy for a customer that has stayed at this hotel several times, she was more interested in quickly, letting me know that they had zero liability and couldn't help me. She wanted to get off the phone very quickly. In my opinion, that is pathetic management. So be well aware that if you are worried about any damage in the parking lot or if you are worried about safety in the parking lot, just understand there are no cameras and the hotel will not show you any empathy at all. read more

I would stay someplace else if in the area until they renovate. At the very least insist on a room in a building furthest from the freeway. They tried to compensate for the noise, condition or room and general hotel grounds as well as breakfast but I don't feel it was enough. It is definitely not up to Embassy Suites standards. It could be a great property again but it isn't right now. read more
