The front desk could not have been more welcoming & wanting everything to be perfect for my stay. The room was clean, so comfortable & everything about it was perfect. Included in the stay are free breakfast bar every morning, free complimentary cocktails for happy hour every night of your stay & i made dinner of the free/included happy hour meals. You get so much back for your stay in both complimentary alcohol & good food, it was so worth it. If you want a bigger meal & more cocktails, they have a full hotel bar & restaurant as well. I got a good rate last minute & then got so much back on top of it. I'm not aware of any other hotel chain that does that, so I signed up to become a member & only wish they were located in every big city! read more

Living in Phoenix I don't often check out the hotels in the area, but an out of town guest came in and we had them situated at this hotel and let me just say- wow! They are amazing here! It was clean, organized, and most importantly- the customer service at the front desk with Brandon, Santi, and Sorochi (apologies if I spelled anything incorrectly) was exceptional. They were all genuinely kind, desiring to help, and had a guest- focused approach- exactly what you'd want at a hotel. So this is actually my second time staying here but i did the booking this time. I chose to stay here again because i really enjoyed the last experience and all the amenities and knew what to expect. There's lots of parking out front and on the side. Check in was super easy, and there was even fresh popcorn in the lobby which was nice. I loved my room , I was on the second floor towards the end which was perfect! Everything was clean and neat, bed was super comfortable and fluffy! I thought the shower was a neat design. Love the pool here, definitely a perk...it's half covered which is great in phx and there is a hot tub! I think one of my favorite things tho is this "kick-back " they do from 5-7ish. There's some snack/dinner options that rotate..for example mine were: make your own nachos/tacos, hotdog, soup of the day, side salad. Theres also a soda machine but even better, adults can enjoy up to 3 free cocktails as well! Nothing too fancy but there are wine, beer and well liquor options... example I had a vodka cranberry. Definitely a cool feature in addition to the lovely eating area they have set up . There is also a full bar/ restaurant option in the lobby as well as a convenient mart of sorts (drinks and snacks) so you're covered from all angles. Every area I saw from the entrance to my room was spotless. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. I definitely enjoyed my solo stay and will be back! read more

I can't forget the cleaning staff...I don't think I have ever seen a room so clean (they definitely take pride in their job). My husband and I stayed at the Drury Inn Plaza Tempe on our recent visit to the area, and we had a delightful stay! The good vibes started when we made our reservation; Ashley and Michelle were both extremely friendly and accommodated all our questions and concerns. When we arrived, Santi was SO welcoming at the front desk. He informed us that the hotel was experiencing a small difficulty with the hot water in the rooms (which was corrected during our stay), and the management insisted on compensating us for the minor inconvenience. How thoughtful! The hotel offers a tasty kickback buffet daily from 5:30 to 7:00; we availed ourselves of it twice during our stay, and it was tasty, filling and nutritious. It was especially welcome on our arrival, as we didn't have to drive somewhere for dinner after driving all day to get to Tempe. There is also a full hot breakfast included in the cost of the room, with lots of selections for food and drink, and always fresh and delicious. We especially appreciate the sustainability practices for both the evening buffet and breakfast: all plates, silverware, and cups/glasses were reusable (although take-out cups were available for coffee/tea). It would be nice to have a central recycling bin near the lobby for guests to use, as well. We had a well-appointed suite with TVs in both the bedroom and sitting room; there was a king-size bed, dresser, and nightstands in the bedroom, and an easy chair, loveseat, dresser, and desk with office chair in the sitting room. A rectangular ottoman doubled as a coffee table, which was inventive. All the furniture was in very good shape and well-maintained; the entire suite was clean and smelled fresh (including the carpets). The room had a separate bedroom with a door, which was nice if one of us wanted to go to sleep early. There were plenty of pillows (from soft to firm), and although the mattress felt a little uneven, we both had a good night's sleep every night. The bathroom was clean with good quality towels and washcloths, and the water pressure was decent for the 2nd floor. Initially, it took a while for the hot water to arrive but this was corrected by the second night of our stay. There was an inset counter between the bedroom and sitting room which housed the microwave and mini fridge. There was no freezer capability, but the fridge kept our travel food cold. There was plenty of lighting throughout the suite. The thermostat was a little touchy and often had to be adjusted by a degree or two to keep the temperature constant in the rooms. In our room, there was a small amount of noise from the freeway; if this is a consideration, ask for rooms on the opposite side of the hotel. The hotel has a small bar with limited menu for later night dining, as well as a self-serve pantry by the reception desk. There are also nearby restaurants and bars for additional dining options. The hotel is off a major street, and it was easy to reach nearby destinations. It sits on attractive grounds with xeriscaping. The area is well-lit and feels safe. The onsite gym has several cardiovascular options (elliptical trainer, bicycle and treadmill) as well as weightlifting options; the outdoor pool looked nice but we didn't use it. All members of the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Brandon deserves special mention: he was the soul of hospitality as he circulated among the guests at the kickback buffet and during breakfast, making sure everyone had what they needed and were enjoying themselves. He carried diners' plates and glasses to the bussing area, and stopped to chat with us each time he passed by our table. He was genuinely interested in our well-being, and we appreciate him! Be aware of the pet policy: pets are allowed but cannot be left in the room alone. We had to take our cat with us to our friend's house every day. This would not a problem for those passing through, but it might pose some difficulties for travelers wishing to do some sight-seeing in the area and staying for more than one night. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Drury Inn and will return there on our next trip to Tempe! read more

What a nice experience we had here, using this location as our stop between New Mexico and our home in California. Yes, it has the same amenities as many good hotels, but it also has Josh Sedlock at the front desk (terrific and kind and truly helpful), and one of the best (walk-in) hotel showers we've ever had. The breakfast was pretty good, and the 5:30 "kickback" was a pleasant surprise, although not necessarily a substitute for dinner (but it doesn't claim to be). The room and bathroom were clean, the parking was ample and close to the entrance, and we would happily stay here again, which is a good compliment as there are quite a lot of choices for accommodations in this general location. read more

How can you beat free breakfast, dinner, free soft drinks, fresh popcorn in the afternoons, free parking and free wifi?!? It's not fancy or expensive like a Mariott but it's soooo good. This hotel was renovated top to bottom and reopened this year, so everything is new, unchipped, and super clean. Restauraunts are nearby (we went to Panera, IKEA, and splurged on Bubba's 33). Solid 3.5 stars! For the price, it's worth it. I scored the room for just under $93 via hotels.com. Is it fancy? No, but it sure doesn't cost like it either. If you include the 3 free drinks (per person) and snacks from 5:30pm-7pm nightly and the free breakfast (w/coffee), the room nearly pays for itself. Room had all the basic requirements I look for in a stay...clean, comfortable bed, nice sized shower (with a cool seat in it btw), decent TV, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Keep in mind, the refrigerator is likely set to the lowest (warmest) setting so you'll probably have to slide it out of the cubicle to adjust the temperature knob on the back. Refrigerator was hard to find until I remembered it's actually on the left side of the faux dresser. Hotel provided an early check-in which was great. Free breakfast was just serviceable but what can you expect. The breakfast included waffles (make your own station) which were delicious however be prepared to wait since there are only 2 waffle irons. The rest of the breakfast was warm yogurt, dry biscuits/ muffins/pastries, powder/liquid scrambled eggs, microwave like sausage discs, and awful frozen seasoned potatoes. Luckily there was some shredded cheese and salsa to smother the eggs in. I think there was also cereal, oatmeal, and some fruit. You don't come here for the breakfast but if you scarf some down really quick, you be satiated until lunch. I really did like that the manager, or what appeared to be, was busy shuffling through the dining area talking to guests and picking up dirty plates. Needed a place for my parents while they were in town for Thanksgiving. I paid so went to get them checked in and help them get luggage to the room. The staff were very kind and everything was clean and well kept. The room was nice and my parents said the bed was very comfortable. They are older and picky about what they sleep on but both said they slept really well. The fact that breakfast and a lite dinner were included is awesome! They said the food was good (better than most hotels by far) and it meant I didn't have to figure out every meal while they were here. Just keep in mind the indoor pool is connected to the out door pool so the pool is cold in the winter time. Breakfast was good. The 5:30 kick back was cool. Decided to stay here overnight and was pleasantly surprised . They offer free evening food which included hot dogs , nachos , salad , chili , pastas , baked potato bar and 3 free alcoholic drinks per adult and unlimited sodas for kids . As for the room it was a very spacious room with separate living room area . They also offered free buffet breakfast which was really good and included biscuits and gravy , breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs , sausage , waffles , cereals , oatmeal's. My family & I were on our vacation after a two year break from traveling. We were so excited to get away & to see what our new home for the next few days would be. We booked this hotel from March 27-April 1st based off their reviews & offering breakfast, dinner, drinks every day. Once arrived a little early we were greeted by lovely lady & wanted to know if our room was ready for check in already. We were pleased to find our room was ready to check in & proceeded w/ the process. Once we looked around the lobby areas it was very spacious, colorful, signage everywhere about mask wearing in common areas, & every other table had signs for social distancing which was amazing. We went to our room & all was cleaned but we also did our own disinfecting our selves. My family & I had dinner 2 nights which is offered from 5:30-7p; & all staff wore gloves & masks, had menu's posted on the side for guests to view & sever's ask you if wanted to eat downstairs or take it to go which was great & it's all you can eat. For the adults you are giving a a drink card where you can get 3 free drinks from their bar menu & all the bartenders were very friendly. The dinner was decent just needed to be seasoned but could not complain due to a lot of hotels do not offer food anymore. Breakfast is offered daily from 6a-9am or 7am-10am on the weekends which is nice. Our suggestions w/ the breakfast to have a little more variety because it was the same breakfast items everyday which was biscuits, potatoes, gravy, eggs, cereal (boxed cereal would be better), milk, juices, sodas & yogurt. A few items such as the biscuits & potatoes were hard so I am not sure if it was over cooked. In addition I would suggest to accept Visa/MasterCard gift card (gift cards do not have a customer name attached & can be verified) as payment for hotel because it is a valid payment that can be used at restaurants, stores & other places as well for payment. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, all the staff we came across were kind, friendly & the hotel offer indoor & outdoor pools w/ limited people in each area. The Tempe location is just not up to Drury's high standards. Over the past two months I've stayed at various Drury hotels in Arizona and New Mexico. They were all pretty much the same with very friendly service, always a good value, and also having very clean and comfy rooms. This Tempe location was a miss for several reasons. Even though this hotel is only a few years old, it's not as nice as the recently upgraded "older" hotels. The beds and pillows were not as comfy. The food service was poor. Food didn't appear to be refreshed and at times some food items ran out. Trash in the dining room can was overflowing and there were no staff attending the food area. Other locations had friendly faces and everything was full and refreshed. We had one dinner here at the Tempe location (pasta night) they only had pasta, no chicken. Albuquerque had chicken with their pasta night. Overall, this place is cheap with their food service and offerings. It would be nit-picking of me to complain about how slow their internet was. The worst thing about this location was their room service. All other locations did an amazing job with room cleaning. This was half-assed at best. The room wasn't properly cleaned when we first arrived, but it was good enough for the night. We assumed they would get it right the next day. Unfortunately they didn't even clean the room the next day! No TP, no tissues, no clean bed... so I had make the walk of shame to the front desk and get TP.. Apparently the maid said she was denied access at 8:30AM via the Do Not Disturb sign. But the manager said that they (housecleaning) should always go back to Do Not Disturb rooms before they leave for the day because many people don't leave for the day or checkout until later in the morning... The manager said they didn't do that for some reason. To me, it sounded like was an ongoing issue with their cleaning staff. TIP - There are two other Drury hotels in this general area including the one in Chandler. Go there read more

We stumbled upon this hotel while looking for a hotel for the weekend, while in town visiting ASU. First, the location of this hotel is perfect! It sits off of the highway, nearing a number of stores and eateries. However, considering the hotel offers breakfast and a light dinner (limited adult beverages included), you may not need to venture out for breakfast and dinner. But traveling as a family, that was definitely a plus! While checking-in the staff at the front desk was very pleasant, professional and provided great customer service to every guest who approached the desk. After given the COVID rundown, we were given our room key and proceeded to our room. The room on the other is whole different story, and the reason for my star rating! The room had a funny smell and was extremely warm. And to make matters worse, once we sanitized the room and looked at one of the beds...there was a stain on the sheets!!!!!!!!!! I called down to the front desk and housekeeping came fairly quick to changed the bedding, but left the dirty sheet sitting on the other bed. We also noticed the shower curtain also had a stain...so at this point I question the cleanliness of the hotel. After our first night, we left the room and came back several hours later to find our room not cleaned or serviced. When I inquired about why our room was not clean, I was told it was only upon request (in which I was never told that upon checking in), so I do not know if that was true or not. Lastly, the room never seemed to get cool, despite us having the thermostat temperature on 65 degrees the entire time...and the room never got any cooler than 72 degrees. Called down to the front desk and an Engineer came up to change the air filter and to also reset the thermostat...and the room still did not cool down.
