Took my Grandbabies to see The Minions. Truth told...I like them too! I initially didn't want the reclining seats (it's like sitting on a couch/sofa), but the grandkids all climbed on Paw-Paw, so it was all good. They had a blast and I just loved getting to spend time with them. Of course, I got them whatever they wanted and it was nice to have your stuff delivered to your seat. Tuesday is the day to visit Emagine. When you sign up for their rewards program you get perks. Rewards program costs nothing. Movies on standard screen on Tuesday is $5. Small popcorn is free if you are part of the program. If you can attend on Tuesday it is worth it but, get your tickets online if you want to guarantee your seats. We like this theater. Best seating at a theater in the area. We always get popcorn and sodas. Cinemark has better popcorn, but Emagine is still good. The weave through the line that can be a mess. Not sure who designed it, but it's kind of ridiculously laid out. Staff is always friendly here. Bathrooms are clean. I was excited to find out Emagine opened in Portage. This location didn't disappoint as it is identical to Frankfort. My husband and I saw Twisters here and it was completely sold out. We enjoyed the heated recliners and the popcorn. I paid extra for real butter and it was worth it. There is also free refills for popcorn which is nice. Most theaters are ice cold but this time I didn't freeze. My husband said the restrooms could have been cleaner but overall the theater was very clean. There are waiting areas with sofas to relax if you arrive early like we did. read more

Have been attending this theatre for a couple of years ow and will not go back to another. The chairs are beyond comfortable staff will serve your food in the theatre while you watch the movie and you can order drinks and an actual glass of beer. Came and seen Scream 7 last night everything was going good until the movie was over and we went to leave. We were expecting to get a poster seeing online it said we would be getting one well some jack ass handing them out was giving them to other people who didn't see the movie. Am I upset yes that was suppose to be part of our payment coming to see it early. This is caused from poor management. It's so unfair to us people who came to see the movie for the collectors stuff. I took my son for his birthday, I did not have a good experience. The guests were loud and shouting and we could not hear the movie. When the movie ended someone threw a bucket of popcorn that landed on everyone in our row. I've had better experiences and I've seen where the staff have come in and asked people to quiet down. My family and I go to this theater every time. It is clean, so comfortable and the variety of snacks is great. The Ultimate Nachos are a 1/5 but everything else we have had has been great. Got to see Avatar: The Way of Water in 3-D yesterday. If you're going to watch a movie that's 3+ hours you should definitely see it in this theater! Newly re-opened with a full bar & player grand piano in the lobby. Not only do they have recliners and cuddle chairs but the recliners are heated!! . . . Seats heat a little when you hold first button on your left and it turns from red to blue. if you want a drink from the bar, just ask an associate. The girl who ran our concession stand wouldn't give me a receipt and ran the charge twice. read more

We went to see a movie tonight at the portage theater. We come quite often on Tuesday's because of the discount. It's something we can afford. My daughter is autistic. And has sensory perception disorder. Not always but sometimes she has a problem in theaters or other noisy places. We bring AirPods and she has an asmr app on her phone for emergencies. She started to have anxiety during the movie. She had her phone on silent and had her AirPods in. We dimmed her phone and she was calming herself. We had two couples on other side of us that didn't even notice what was going on. About 5 minutes passed and a police officer came up smacked the back of my underaged daughters chair , grabbed her shoulder and yelled loudly at us asking if we wanted to leave and get a refund on our movie. We were startled and confused. The couple on each side of us also jumped up and were startled. We were confused and asked him why and said no we didn't want to leave. No where in the theaters is it posted that a cell phone can not be operated within the theater. It only asks that you silence your phones. He continued to yell at us and say she didn't seem like she liked the movie and did she want to leave. She welled up with tears and said she didn't want to leave. I said out loud "dude. What's the problem. What's going on?" And he walked away from us. The couple next to us asked if we were okay and said what is his problem? I said he was angry that her phone was out? They were confused. I apologized and they said "we didnt notice. No need to apologize. ". We were allowed to stay for the rest of the movie. Which was the sound of freedom. At the end of the movie they actually ask you to take out your phones. Scan a QR code and share the film on social media. I went to management after the movie. She said cell phones aren't allowed to be used In The theater. That it's a policy they have and she would be happy to show us "the manual" . And said if we needed accommodations we need to come on a special day only. And they already had a day for this movie and we should have came then. So which is it. No cell phones. Or only when they ask you to use them. And she said the police are there to help them keep guests in line. And they have no control over them. So nothing can be done. No apologies from her whatsoever. She was young, blonde and had a cold sore on her lip. I believe her name take said shift leader and the name was Ashley? The actual policed offer who had harassed us was actually standing behind her laughing at us and saying yea it was me. He then proceeded to Jump up onto the counter and sit on it behind the girl we were speaking to at the customer service station. It was all highly unprofessional and rude. My child was not being rude. Or disruptive. And this whole darned review feed is filled with people with photos of the insides of the theaters and even pictures while the movies were playing. Why were they not threatened to be removed? The first young man we tried to talk to who was not a manager was very apologetic. He was a younger black man with facial hair and very very kind. . I'm torn. And confused. And very disappointed how we were treated. I will be trying to reach out to corporate. Do better. Be better. This is supposed to be for families. We were not rude. Or disrupting anyone's evening or movie experience. In fact. The only one who interrupted anyone's experience was the rude police officer with the god complex picking on children. read more

Clean, reclining seats, but no matter how good the Dolby Atmos sounds and how large the seats are, it can't shield you from the guy sitting next to you shoveling an entire bucket of popcorn and crinkling an entire package of sour patch kids while slurping his 32 ounce drink and chewing the ice. Is this the theater's fault? No, but I went to enjoy a movie and I ended up paying to listen to Jabba the Hutt eat for 2 hours. I tried to move but all the seats were full. read more

The staff was just there no smiles or welcomes, The manager (older male), who was dressed in a suit, was walking around just observing the crowd was the first movie of the day--10:45 showing, so it wasn't hectic yet. No directions provide when entering, so i was disoriented at first as it has been 2 years since I've been in a movie theater. When I approached the manager for a directive for digital tickets holders and where to go, he continued to walk by me and loudly addressed me from 4 feet away. Read your instructions! Which was a little unprofessional, and this was the first time since covid that I came back to the movie theater. I can get ignored at home, instead of going to a place I spent $100 on tickets and concessions. Cmon you need better customer service and better signage to know where to go! It said that this theater was updated and it looks exactly the same as it did when it opened. It said they were recliner seats when we got tickets and they literally haven't updated these seats in over 15 years.
