The theater is located near the valporaiso town center so we had plenty of things to do before the show. We went to a beautiful bar, walked around a book store, and even found a mushroom in a Garden. The show. Absolutely spectacular. Shakespeare in Love is one of my favorite movies so to get to see it performed live...I was spellbound. I cried several times. The acting was phenomenal. I saw the Ultimate Doors tribute band at the Genesee in Waukegan last month and the drive here was basically the same for me. I enjoyed this show even more the second time. Just over the border is the small town of Hobart and the Art Theatre fits the mold. Celebrating 85 years, this 500 seat venue offers a great view of the stage, anywhere inside. I was shocked how much leg room there is and I am 6'4". An aisle seat was perfect except there was a lot of drunks frequenting the bar, and blocking your view. Sound and lighting is definitely well appointed. Friendly staff and easy check in with your phone.

My kiddos always have a blast doing various plays with Daniel and Keri. They are great at what they…read moredo! My kiddos also have taken private classes which went very well. Every year, they would have a show in which their performance skills could be used. We have always enjoyed these recitals. I like that Daniel and Keri always try different classes to keep things fresh. I even saw stage makeup classes (though mine never did it)! I also saw they did some fundraising in the past. When you do a show with others, the cast forms a bond. They gel. For this reason, the kids tend to create friendships that travel outside of Premier's doors. Between the kids they have bonded with and the wonderful teachers, my kids have thrived here, and I give it a big 5 star rating. I can't wait to see them in their next show and hope to get front row seats!

So this 5 star has a few asterisks. Appearance wise when you walk in, it looks like more of a…read moresports bar than a dive bar. We stopped for drinks bc of the dive bar-type reviews. A minute in, we realized they allow smoking which we weren't use to since we are from New York. (In that category, I'd give a 3 star) We sat a a high top and were quickly and friendly greeted. The crowd was getting busy just before 5 pm on a Wednesday. The array of local characters was amazing, all friendly but all walks of life. The prize of the day was that we ordered a round of beers for 5 of us. I ordered a PBR as they had a huge PBR inflatable can outside and I love me a cold Pabst. The server asked "can or draft?" Great to have a choice so I picked draft. It was happy hour so that was $1! Not a typo! We had dinner plans elsewhere so had to run after 1 round. I closed out our tab for $6.50. Tipped $9 because my mind was blown by prices. There is outside seating if you want to avoid the smoke. There was a 1970s vintage "smoke eater" hanging from the ceiling that by my best guess, hasn't been run since the Berlin Wall came down. Definitely a dive bar. This place is a must visit if in the area. Great people and great vibe. Cold and cheap beer and ample parking. I need to go back on a Friday night. Sorry no photos this time around.
