I booked tickets at the wrong AMC, and I'm glad I checked before I left the house. This wasn't the theater I thought I had originally booked but it was a pleasant surprise. They scan your mobile tickets at the front, but you have to order snacks before you scan your tickets. It's a bit awkward, since we had already scanned our tickets and had to go back past the scanner to then order snacks since I didn't realize they were the only screens to order. It is a pretty great system otherwise. Placed an order and before I could even arrive at the pick up counter, my popcorn, drink and candy were ready for me to pick up. The theater I was in was pretty small. But the quality of the screen and sound system was excellent. Seats were nice and reclined all the way back. The theater was super clean. Parking available under the theater had a 2 hour free validation. Our movie was a little longer than 2 hours so it cost $9 to park. Overall a solid theater that's a bit closer than the other one, so will likely be back here. read more

I visited this theater for the first time since AMC took it over from Icon. Everything appeared to be the same except the seats and the snacks counter. I bought tickets online so I simply had them scanned upon arrival. Having to wait in line for a kiosk to open up would be incredibly annoying. I saw Scream 7 opening day, so the theater was packed. I walked right to the concession stand only to find a long line at the only available kiosk. Rather than wait in line, we ordered via the AMC app. I'm not sure if doing that was much faster, but we were at least able to skip the line. The bathrooms could definitely use a refresh. It smelled, and the toilet paper was running low. Some of the soap dispensers were also empty. I went to an IMAX showing and found the seats really uncomfortable. They've been updated, but they're definitely not as comfortable as the old Icon red recliners. They also don't recline as much, which sucked. The popcorn was fresh and hot, though, which is a big plus. The AMC theater in the burbs that I usually visit dumps popcorn from bags into the counter storage area. I also just saw the Michael Jackson movie there too and had a similar experience. I rarely go to the movies in the city, but if I do, I might have to go to AMC on Columbus or Block 37. I'm not sure if I can keep this location on the list. read more

Judging by the reviews, I'm not alone here. I've been a longtime fan of the ICON Theater at 1011 S. Delano Ct E, so I was excited (and a bit cautious) when AMC took over. Unfortunately, the rebrand hasn't been a great experience so far. The biggest change is the shift to touchscreen kiosks for both tickets and concessions. While convenient in theory, it removes a lot of flexibility and human interaction. Once you order, you're funneled through the system with little room to make adjustments or ask questions without jumping through hoops. For example, I ordered Impossible nuggets and selected one sauce. When I tried to ask for a different sauce at the counter, I was told I had to go back to the kiosk and place a new order. I ended up speaking to three different people, including a manager, just to swap or add a $1 sauce. That level of rigidity is frustrating and unnecessary, and it actually made me late for my movie. Another issue is the bar and grill. I arrived early hoping to sit at the bar while waiting for a friend, but I was told I couldn't enter unless I had already purchased a movie ticket. Since we planned to buy tickets together, I couldn't go in. Even security didn't understand the policy. It feels shortsighted, why have a bar if people can't access it freely? It limits both customer experience and potential business. On the positive side, the theater itself is still great. The seating remains comfortable, and the movie experience hasn't changed much from the ICON days. Overall, though, AMC has made the experience more complicated and less customer-friendly. The over-reliance on kiosks and strict policies takes away from what used to be an easy, enjoyable outing. I'm glad the space still exists, but I hope improvements are made,especially when it comes to customer service and accessibility. 2 out of 5 stars. read more

I love this theater! The seats are really comfortable and spacious, the staff is really friendly, and the vibes are good. I come here at least once a week. I recommend the AMC A-Lister membership. My only complaint is that the temperature often feels too warm in the theaters. Even in the summertime, it doesn't feel like the AC is on. I have to bring my own fan because the air feels stagnant and hot. Last weekend, it felt so warm in the theater that my boyfriend and I were sweating through our shirts! read more

Pay movie theatre price, plus tax plus convenience fee so $20 just to have view blocked because the two ideal spots of the theatre have thick iron bars around them; not seating for special needs visitors, which would make barrier less rigid and acceptable. read more

I came here to see Wicked and was pleasantly surprised with amount of security and safety we were met with. Im so glad to see how secure this theatre was at night time and felt very safe. Additionally the theatre was very clean and quality of viewing was immaculate. The seats within my theatre reclined and heated, a nice touch for the cold weather. My first time visiting after the icon change to watch the new backrooms movie. I like that they just scan your tickets and go On your way. What I don't like is that you have to preorder your concessions. The company is erasing human communication. The food comes out quickly once you preorder. We ended up being on the second floor seating and my only complaint is that from row k , my cannot see the bottom of the screen because there's a small wall. You have to keep peaking over so you don't miss anything. read more

This is my first time visiting since they reopened as an AMC. The remodel is great! The theatre we were in (theatre 1) is a Dolby theater and there are HEATED SEATS! Loved that. The recliner and foot rest doesn't go super high though. Seems like the foot rest raises to about 2/3 of what Other theatres do. I will say, we did get our ticket validated and at the validation area it says that from 2-3 hours with validation, it's $5, but when you get to the paying station it charged us $11. Went here to see Wicked for Good. We arrived early so we can order snacks. It was pretty simple to order on the kiosk. Then after showing our tickets & waiting in a line of other guest who ordered food, we saw they had a tv with our receipt numbers displayed in a queue. The seats in the theater were nice, they recline and are heated. We saw the movie in IMAX and it was crystal clear. read more

I came by today for a 12:30PM showing and found out, along with about a dozen other people waiting outside the entrance doors, that the theater was temporarily closed until further notice. There were no signs on the doors or elevator to notify us of this. We only found out because you can no longer purchase movie tickets for this location online. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here! read more

Free parking w validation once you get inside the theater (get it validated after you see the movie bc you only get 2 hours and after that it's $5 per hour I believe). This theater is modern and I love the reclining seats. It's new and clean and it is in an area with so many other stores. The staff are so friendly. Love the vibe! I will return. Worst AMC customer experience in Chicago land. I came to watch a 10 PM movie and arrived around 10:20, but after spending a little time figuring out how to get out of the parking garage, I discovered that the elevators no longer went to the lobby. I managed to find another way into the cinema, only to realize that all the entrances and exits were already locked. Another couple who had also purchased tickets was locked out with me. A security guard saw us but chose to ignore us. After some time, they finally sent down someone in an AMC uniform who said he was a new bartender. He admitted that his colleagues told him people were stuck downstairs, but the only "help" he could provide was telling us he didn't know what to do. At that point, it was clear the theater simply wanted us to leave. I gave up and left as well--without even having the chance to validate my parking ticket. It's shocking that a cinema located in the center of Chicago would effectively shut down at 10 PM. As a customer, there was no clear way to know what the last showtime was for this location. For a newly opened theater that hasn't even made all its screens available yet, this kind of experience is unacceptable. Good luck to them--I suppose they already feel confident enough about their business, but I won't be coming back. read more

What has AMC even been doing the past 7+ months? Nothing has changed about the building since IconX left (the theatre is even still branded IconX) except now they blocked off 90% of the concessions area, making it a single file line nightmare. Plus, they keep what was the worst part about IconX: kiosk only. It exists outside of the ticket check area, and that's the only way to order concessions. Hoping they fix everything soon, but until then, my review is 2 stars. read more

The IMAX theater looks and sounds amazing but the seats are needlessly uncomfortable. The bottom of the seat only extends about halfway when the seat reclines, causing your legs to hang in an uncomfortable position. It looks like they tried cramming as many rows of seats as possible in the theater, creating a space crunch so there is insufficient space between rows to accommodate a normally reclining seat. This stupid design choice is too bad as this would otherwise be the city's best theater. read more

My Daughter and I went on February 4th 2026 to the early showing of the movie Stray Kids Dominate and they could not play the movie that evening due to technical issues. It was my daughter's birthday and she was so disappointed. First of all, I'm happy that there's a movie theater here again, since it's very convenient for us. However, after reading other reviews, it seems like we weren't alone in our frustration at a number of issues. I remember the Showplace Icon that was in this space before having a concession area with multiple lines where you actually ordered from a human being, but I could be wrong about that as it's been a while. What I know for a fact is that the concessions experience as it currently exists is awful. We arrived about 30 minutes before our movie was supposed to start (the actual movie, not the previews), thinking that this was ample time to get some popcorn and a soda and find our reserved seats. I think there were a few automated kiosks before you show your ticket and are let in, but we just assumed the concessions area was where we were supposed to order our food (as has been the case in movie theaters for decades). But when we got over there, we realized that there was only a single kiosk to order from by the concessions, and as a result there was a very long line. We didn't want to wait in the line (although in hindsight we should have), and we saw that there was a separate window where you could pick up an "online order." We decided to do that so we could go watch the previews. We ordered our popcorn and soda via the app and scheduled our pickup for the earliest time slot available, 20 minutes from when we placed the order and about 5 minutes before the movie would start. When we came back out to get our order, there was nothing there. We waited 5 more minutes and when there was still nothing, I went and talked to one of the people behind the counter. He told me that I just needed to wait. I said that we had placed our (very simple) order 25 minutes earlier and had scheduled a pickup time, so I was confused why it still wasn't ready. He gave some excuse about how the orders were in a queue and ours "hadn't popped up for them yet," but that made no sense to me. Why were the online orders that had a scheduled pickup time put into the same queue as the kiosk orders? There was some more back and forth and eventually another worker there looked for our order in their system and handed us an empty cup for our soda and one of the 10-15 pre-prepared buckets of popcorn that had been sitting on a shelf right there the whole time. By the time we got back to our seats, we had missed several minutes of the movie. Speaking of the seats, they are pretty comfortable, but I remember the Showplace Icon having seats that reclined further and had footrests that went higher. The footrests on the seats at this AMC stop in a place where your legs are awkwardly bent for the duration of the movie. Why that is I have no idea. Overall, I'm glad that there's a movie theater a convenient distance from where I live, but this particular one suffers from some weird and annoying issues that are completely avoidable. read more

We live in the building and the surrounding area, and would love it if our upstairs bar was open to the public, and/or at least tenants of local surrounding buildings. Everyone doesn't want to see a movie all the time. A drink and/or hang out w/friends upstairs again would be awesome. read more

My experience dealing with this young girl at the food counter was horrible. My drink cups fell on the floor, so I asked for new ones, and you would've thought I asked her to remove a nipple. This girl gave me the nastiest look. I'm trying to understand why it was an issue. Do you prefer me and my family to drink out of cups that hit the dirty floor?? Beer is $24. QR code for menu had no prices. The excuse for non-transparency of prices was no paper menus yet and we should have asked. I'm sorry but no sane person expects to pay $20+ for a Modelo. Management not helpful and unable to provide any information to elevate a situation they could not address. Boss is someone named Brad who has no contact info or card (yet) and that was extent of customer service. Go at own risk. Unfortunately this place seems dead on arrival. read more

This theatre is EXTREMELY LIMITED! There is NO FOOD & DRINKS. Everything is way more over priced than usual. No Decor and it was usually messy considering it just opened yesterday. I'm done going to AMCs and even selling the AMC stock that I have, because It has no future. read more
