I use to think so highly of this shop. I would always recommend people to go here. I never had a bad experience, until recently. The staff was extremely rude to my sister and I. Talking to us like we were stupid. I even considered leaving, but decided to stay. Big mistake. My sister and I went in 2 weeks ago to get small tattoos. It was her first tattoo. We each got each others initials. They charged us $150 EACH. Which is absurd. Second red flag. The artist was very nice and professional. After a few days, my sister noticed that her tattoo was jagged and there was a random line of ink next to it. The artist did a HORRIBLE job. Thankfully, my tattoo was fine. but hers was horrific. Monday my 7 year old daughter had a 4:30 appointment for getting her ears pierced at Elysium Tattoo. She was incredibly excited and we'd prepped by watching videos so she'd know what to expect. They didn't get us back in the room until after 5, which is fine, things happen. The appointment was supposed to be with Lexi, their piercer but they told me the person doing the piercing was finishing a tattoo first. So we get her all set up to start with Johnny. He has a great bedside manner with her, gets her laughing. Marks the dots on her ears with the marker. Then he spent the next 45 minutes trying to pierce ONE ear. She handled the first poke like a champ, sits perfectly still says ow but is doing great. The first poke was a good quarter inch away from the dot he actually made with the marker. Then he can't get the earring through (which is weird because the needles are designed to bring the jewelry through with it). So he fumbles for a while before deciding to just poke a SECOND hole through her ear, also nowhere near the dot. (I should've pulled the plug right then but she didn't want to quit despite the fact that it hurt more and she's actively sobbing). Even after putting two holes in her ear he was still trying to push the jewelry through her skin, not one of the two holes, causing her a bunch of pain. I finally did pull the plug after he'd taken the earring out and put it back in for the third time with shaky hands (he told us he'd been tattoing straight through from 11am) and told us "I just have to pop the jewelry through." There's already two holes. There should be no 'just pop it through' and if I'd wanted to have the hole made with the jewelry I'd have taken her to Claire's not a tattoo shop to have a "professional" do it. At this point my husband had already left the room to calm himself down because everyone with us was upset. I tell him "No we're done," he asks if we're sure and I'm like yes. So he takes the jewelry back out and then can't find a bandaid for her. My poor daughter goes "I'm sorry it's all my fault" and I tell her it ABSOLUTELY is not her fault. I take her out to the car. My roommate hung back to talk to the front desk lady who had heard ALL of the appointment. The lady asked what happened and my roommate told her what she'd seen (she also left the room at one point because she was getting upset about how it was going too). The front desk lady issued a refund immediately when my roommate asked if we'd put down a deposit (we had paid the entire $52 in full before starting). While we are outside trying to get the kiddo calm, she goes "oh no! we forgot to tip!" and I was like, baby we are not tipping for that (and I tip 25%+ for damn near everything). So yes, the refund was already issued - the business did what they could to make it right. The lady at the front desk was kind and professional and I very much appreciate her. We've previously had great experiences at Elysium when Travis pierced my husband and my niece has also had 3 piercings done there. This may have turned us off the shop completely. I have no idea how we ended up with Johnny but I'd have rather just be told Lexi wasn't available than pass us off on someone who, appeared to us, to either have no idea what he's doing or is so out of practice that he has no business handling a piercing needle anymore. I don't like bashing businesses, especially small locally run ones, and I hope this isn't what it comes off as. So I brought my wife here for a septum piercing. We paid the cost of the piercing then waited for the piercer to get free. We went back to get pierced. He asked if my wife was pregnant, she was like 8 months pregnant! He said he can't pierce her while being pregnant, never heard that before but I was glad he erred on the side of caution. So he said come back after the baby was born. So six weeks later we came back in after my son was born. This time we were told they don't hold money (we didn't get our money back from the first visit since we were told to come back) the best they could do is give us a discount!!! Wtf? I have a lot of tattoos and I know a deposit is standard practice but I would be real careful giving these people money... needless to say we did not get pierced here and will not go back. 40 dollar lesson... read more

I came in on September 21st to get my septum pierced and it was such an awesome experience! The woman at the front desk was helpful in assisting me and made the purchase stress-free. The studio itself was clean and well-maintained. There was no dust; everything was in good order. Browsing their supplies was made easy by the way their body jewelry was displayed. Even their restrooms were tidy and handicap friendly (not necessary for me but still important and rarely seen in body art studios). I also loved how professional Adam was. He was the one who performed the piercing. He was to-the-point without being unfriendly, he answered all my questions, and he was patient. I got dizzy and a little nauseous after the piercing was complete and he didn't make me feel like a waste of time. He gave me water, talked with me, and kept me present and engaged! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get a new piercing. It was a bit of a drive for me but when I decide to add another, I'll certainly be back! EDIT: I went back to support a friend and not only did they loudly confront me about this review, but they also spent the entire time talking about my review to my friend instead of focusing on her piercing. She is a minor and they used the f-word multiple times while talking to her. The professional thing to do after a bad review is to try and rectify the situation. They are lucky they haven't been sued yet. So unprofessional. Save your money and time, go to Unity. My initial piercing by Adam was a good experience. I really liked him and was happy with my piercing. However, when I had my jewelry changed by Johnny, it was painful and confusing. My piercing immediately became infected and irritated. I went to Unity to get titanium put in and they told me that he had ripped the hole, causing the jewelry to start migrating out of my ear. They removed it free of charge. I bought two earrings from ASG and just tried to return one since I can't wear it anymore. The receptionist just said "No returns!" And didn't even ask why I was returning. It was still in the original packaging, the least they can do it refund me and throw it out. Terrible customer service and very unprofessional work. Do not let Adam do your tattoo. My cousin got a horrible tattoo from him. It looks NOTHING like the picture she wanted. The outline is shaky at best and the coloring looks like a 4 year old did it. Worst art work ever. She had to go to another place to get it fixed. I cant believe he is the "owner" Since she got this tattoo I have heard of other really bad tattoos done by Adam. She went with them because the shop was very nice and clean and a friend got an awesome tattoo from another artist there Johnny. So if you go there ask for him. My friend and I came here to purchase a new nose ring and possibly look for scheduling an appointment for a tattoo. We arrived at 11:55 and the piercing side was locked, so we went to the tattoo side to inquire about it. As soon as we walked in the door, before we could even get a word out about piercing hours, the front desk employee yelled at us for not having a mask when we were not informed that we needed one, and told us it opened at 12. We said thank you and sorry for not knowing we needed masks, and when we left we continued to hear her talk about us walking in there to another desk employee. We will not be getting a tattoo here because of the rude staff member. We suggest you take business elsewhere for tattoos too. While I'm at it, the signs for which side of the building you need to go to according to tattoo/piercing are confusing. Piercing employees are very nice though! read more

I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE GETTING MY SEPTUM PIERCED! Not only did he do it wrong the first time, which was EXTREMELY PAINFUL, but he had to do it AGAIN. The reason he did such a terrible job was because he did not clamp it down and just went for the piercing. Probably why it ended up crooked. Literally so much pain for a terrible piercing? I'm sorry, but no. Not ok. When I went back and asked for a refund because it was God awful he threw a fit and slammed the door mumbling about how it's going to be "even fucking harder" to refund me being that I paid with a card. I was baffled that he was so upset that I asked for a refund.. hello you're upset? I am upset that you inflicted so much pain on me and it wasn't even a good piercing. I have had several piercings at different places and this was by far my worst experience. If I would get anything done again this would be the LAST place I would go. On a whim, I decided to get my nostril pierced. This shop was close, reasonably priced, and nearby. I walked in; the lady was super friendly, but there was no piercer on staff that day. So much for impulsive decisions! I came back the next week, again as a walk-in. The lady told me the piercer was in a tattoo session and to come back in an hour or so. We went to lunch, came back, and ended up having to wait another hour and a half. It wasn't ideal, but thankfully my accompanying friend was patient, and we had nowhere else to be. The lady was definitely as transparent about the wait time as she could be. The piercing and stud were $10 total, plus tip. The shop was clean and inviting. The piercer talked me through the whole thing. My only issue was that he didn't mark my nose or anything before proceeding, and a friend who came for the same piercing a week later got to check the mark in the mirror. It turned out fine, but I felt that perhaps he felt rushed. read more
