My 30 min consultation with Katherine was really helpful! I learned formatting tips and ways to beef up my resume by adding a header, summary, and core competencies and creating sectional dividers. She recommended outcome-based bullet points that highlight the benefits and quantify the results rather than a laundry list of tasks. Katherine was friendly and thorough and even had enough time to quickly proofread my hubby's resume. It was really nice to get an extra set of eyes! While the $299 starter package seems a bit pricey, it's a good deal considering that you are equipped with the A team of an interviewer, drafter, and editor. They will rewrite your resume and can fine tune and belt out those bullet points. While my resume could use a few tweaks, the starter package is a great option if you're looking for a resume overhaul without doing all the guess work. They then called and said they used up the $1500 and would need $1500 more. At that point I researched the law myself- took no more than 1/2 hour in google searches and determined they had given me incorrect advice and I didn't need to complete the form. Upon calling them back, they said yes of course I didn't need to submit the form. But they had already spent $1500 in what seemed to me trying to find ways to charge me more. Seems unethical to me.

Unfortunately this firm mixed my bank account with another client, this having me receive two…read morerefunds. Instead of righting the wrong, I was asked to write a personal check to the client rather than having the firm account for their error. The first problem is that my data was given in error to another client. The second problem is that I was asked to write a personal check to their client. No ownership was taken for the mistake. I instead had the errant monies refunded to the IRS, which is the proper channel. Certainly more tedious for the other client, but the right thing to do. This firm's suggestion of me writing a personal check put me in potential auditing by IRS for "double dipping" if you will, as it would show me having two refunds in the same year. I have made my complaint to the board of accounting for the state of Maryland. I would suggest treading lightly given the lack of discretion and ethics used by this firm. I have moved on to a much more sound practice.

I did not receive a message back until shortly before 9 pm on Friday. When I called back, I heard automated message saying they are all out on vacation for next couple weeks. It's hard- no - it's impossible to get any kind of decent service from "un"professional tax (experts?) around here. I'm taking my business to Virginia where my friends get good service. I don't trust the reviews here as they don't correspond at all to my experience with borges. Horrible lack of service and availability.
