Elysia kept me at ease and began by asking what products I use on my skin then went over different details about my skin, addressing my concerns, and made sure I was comfortable. First off let me tell you that I am not a frills and pampering kinda gal so getting a facial is really out of the box for me... like really....I also waited 24 hours after my treatment with write this review to make sure I wasn't just on the natural high of the awesome aromas and to see how my skin truly reacted.... This was my first facial in over 10 years and my first Microdermabrasion ever, and I am hooked! I saw the Groupon for this treatment, which I used, with the add on of a Pumpkin peel (smelled and felt like a warm pumpkin pie being smothered on your face... I thought that could only happen in my fat girl dreams!). I have very problem skin: very oily in the T zone, dry on my cheeks, a bit of cystic acne on my chin, all while just being diagnosed for PCOS so my hormones are all out of whack and in combination with extremely sensitive skin that turns red at the slightest irritation or exposure to sun... and yet Elysia did not shy away! Impressive! She walked me through step by step what she was doing, explain ingredients, processes, and side effects allowing me to ask questions and understand the process. I walked out a hour later with brand new skin! Seriously! it is so smooth and CLEAN! My normal redness on my chin and nose is dramatically reduced and not a cystic bump in sight! I also now know which daily sun protection to use that not only will give me the protection I need, but will not be shiny or oily. This morning (24 hour later) I didn't even want to put on my makeup! I of course used a bit of sunscreen and foundation because it has the active ingredient recommended, but other than that... nothing! I have never wanted to show off my skin before! I was warmly greeted by the esthetician who sat down with me and took time to go over the areas of my skin that I had concerns with. So I have to say, I haven't actually even had my facial yet, but just based on Elysia's customer service I felt I needed to write a review already. I called to make an appointment and was unable to reach anyone by phone, but after leaving a message with my availability Elysia texted me shortly after with some dates and times. She was apologetic about missing my call--which I actually think is good, because she was with a client, and if I was getting a facial I wouldn't want her answering her phone mid-peel if she was workin on me--but she was also very sweet and accommodating about scheduling me. She even offered to let me bring in my baby while she worked on me to fit me in--and I love my baby, but come on, who really wants to hear a screaming lil one while they're working! She also made sure to verify that I wasn't using certain products beforehand to make sure that my face would be good to go by the appointment. How she handled me--just someone who has never been there and only left a message to schedule an appointment, says to me she cares about her business and cares about customer service. I can see people being bothered by lack of availability since she's not there everyday, but i'd gladly book out a few weeks for someone that's actually worth it. I was nervous because I had never had a facial before, I tend to have sensitive skin, but I recently have been having super dry skin so I wanted to come in for an evaluation and hydrating treatments.
