We had a unique situation, with a new construction home that had defects needing to be fixed. I found Greater Home Services through a Google search, and reached out to Gary not knowing what to expect. The first time I spoke to him, he was very interested and intrigued by the project, and he explained he's a Mike Holmes (TV personality on HGTV) type of guy that is going to fix it right. Before even coming out to our house, he wanted to do as much research as he could about our defects based on the information that I shared with him. Gary did not want to come out to our house unprepared while wasting our time. He worked with his resources until he had some ideas for what was wrong, and then came over to look for himself, and share his solutions. Gary walked through his quote and when we decided to proceed, I asked if he could give us a schedule of when things will happen, as we never had a schedule when our house was built. He pulled out a white board and put together a schedule that we would keep at our house. Knowing things could move based on what was found, we would see any changes right away. Gary did an excellent job of coordinating all of the work that needed to be done, and gave us a daily report at the end of each day explaining what was found. He was always willing to meet in person, or talk over the phone if there were any questions. Gary's tile guy did an excellent job and wanted to make sure everything was done perfectly (no shortcuts) with his 30+ years of experience. The rough carpenters he works with, made sure plastic sheeting was on all of furniture as well as use a negative air machine to keep dust to a minimum. Like the tile guy, no shortcuts. The project was finished on time and on budget. The quality of the work was excellent and the attention to detail was evident in all aspects of the job. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering remodeling and we will most definitely consider him on any future projects.

I not only wanted a safe and highly functional bathroom, but I wanted it to be lovely also and I feel that is exactly what I received. I obtained more than one bid for this remodel and accepted owner, Gary Grabowski's (CR, UDCR), proposal, knowing "you get what you pay for." Gary was very professional and highly knowledgeable about equipment and installation methods that would make my home-life much easier for me while keeping in mind my personal current and potential future needs. He was always concerned about and respectful of my budget. Once the plans were agreed upon, I had to wait a short while for my project's turn. What I liked was that once his crew began my project it was as though I was his only client until completion. All projects have small "hitches" which are insignificant when looking at the scope of the entire project. Gary and all of his workers were so highly skilled, hard-working, trustworthy, and always pleasant and courteous. They were careful as they went in and out of my home, kept things as orderly and neat as possible with a major construction job and even seemed to enjoy my dog! As Gary became familiar with my abilities and needs, he made other suggestions for other areas of my condo. They are continuing to do some smaller projects inside and outside and I will continue to use this company to do a few larger projects in the near future.

It turns out it was a liability waiver. The truck used in the delivery was not a normal semi truck. It was definitely only for commercial use, especially with the heavy equipment on it. It trashed our driveway. Not to mention, they gave us ZERO warning they were coming so we weren't even able to make a judgement on if the truck should have come up on the property. During the process of building the roof, they didn't meet the two day timeline. They didn't even tell us when they were coming back and we had to call them. Now we're waiting on the gutters with ZERO ETC. Don't hire DeWitt unless you're strapped for cash. And always assume they're not going to do it right, and assume you need to micromanage. I'll take back this review when their customer service stops making pathetic excuses and act like real professionals.

They did have a charge associated with having the architect come out that was very small. I can't remember what it was, but it will be baked into the ultimate project payments. Did I shop around? Well... no. These guys have done a lot of work on my house. They have amazing integrity, good pricing from my past shopping around, I can trust them with my dogs and we are mimicking the amazing front porch design they created for me so it just makes sense to stay with a company I trust. Unable to locate or contact, skipped court hearing (discovered later this is a pattern). Edit: I encourage all to visit https://micourt.courts.michigan.gov/CaseSearch/Court/D46 to search for KHS or its owner Lamar Mixon to see KHS's pattern of dodging accountability. Lamar, a breach of contract renders any stipulations of that contract null and void. You had an opportunity to make your case and provide this evidence to the court, but failed to show to our hearing as well as others that day and prior. At best it shows severe negligence of accountability, at worst intention to fraudulently deceive your customers. I'm not the first, and it appears not the last, that this has happened to. It's a pattern and anyone considered using KHS's services should steer clear. Edit 3: Case has been closed with default judgement. Updated the court search URL for the more searchable location. Searching for KHS's owner, you'll soon find a pattern that is increasing in frequency. Edit 2: "Lets look at the facts" Love to. I've uploaded the same documents I provided in my case against KHS. "The work completed in the photo alone justifies the security deposit in full" Interesting. Let's do math. Deposit: $2200 Line item 2, specifying cut-and dig: $1589 Deposit - actual = $611 This all assumes line item 2 was completed, which it was not. No extension from rear of garage (only length of asphalt cut), incomplete digout (other landscaper still had to come in to dig away material to properly space and grade), no fabric lay, no debris haul. I uploaded a photo of the state of the project when it was taken over by another landscaper after breach of contract was issued to KHS, which was sent to my by that same landscaper at project kickoff. I also uploaded the itineraries, sent to me by KHS, which were both no-shows without warning. The itineraries were set in the first place because all previous call or text communicate that set up firm dates on KHS's honor suffered the same no-show without warning. Please, reader, please. Just avoid KHS. ------------------ Original post Originally contracted for a French drain install and repair of water damaged wall. Company repeatedly missed dates for various reasons without warning. After attempting to set timing commitments twice in the same month (failure to show without notice on the first attempt), Breach of Contract was issued and request for deposit return, minus costs for work performed (based on costing provided by KHS). KHS insisted they could complete the work, but the lack of communication and constant missing of appointments gave us no confidence. Last words to me from the owner were "let me get back with you" and he never heard from again, despite repeated email attempts to contact. Deposit paid was $2200. Photo attached to this review is all that was accomplished. For reference, that trench is approximately 1.5' wide and 6" deep (not even deep enough for properly bedded drain channel). The owner, Lamar, was a pleasure to speak with in person and their price was quite competitive. However, their lack of responsiveness and failure to show at a conflict resolution session shows at best a lack of competency and professionalism, and at worst unscrupulous behavior where deposit is held after a breach of contract when a project goes south. ---------------- In responses to other reviews, the company claims ownership, accountability, and professionalism, but in my experience they didn't live up to any of these qualities. Court case (initially a mediation, so not even before a proper judge) was scheduled for 1/11/2022 and was a no-show from KHS. To get to that point was a struggle, as a skip-trace needed to be performed just to locate a servable address for court documents. The company wasn't available at the address the have posted on their site (16291 West 14 Mile Road, Suite 4 Beverly Hills, MI 48025), and the owner wasn't residing at any known address on record. I've seen a couple other posts here regarding the company not residing at the location, wherein they claimed at one point to have updated to a current residency.
