Older Hilton property that they've tried to gussy up with a fresh coat of paint…read more 1) you can hear everything. If you're a business traveller as I am, this may not be the hotel for you. Sleep is precious when you live life on the road. 2) the train rolls through town all.night.long and blasts it's horn as well. See point above. 3) housekeeping seems to have forgotten how to clean. The sink faucet in my room wasn't wiped down. There are greasy smudge marks all over my room windows. We had a room on the 26th floor and the view was fantastic. The hotel is the tallest point for miles and miles. The evening city lights were spectacular. The early dawn view was beautiful. As for the accommodations, the room was basic, a bit dated. The bedding was not the most comfortable. The sheets were rough. The towels were thin. The floor to ceiling wall of windows helped make up for the shortcomings. Because Springfield is the state capital, the hotel probably gets a lot of use from conventions and large groups. The wear and tear is apparent. It would be nice if Hilton reinvested in updating this property.
