They are sneaky and if they can't keep their word about a job. I can't imagine all the other things they are dishonest about. Do they really clean the equipment properly, do they follow all guidelines to keep patients safe? Because they obviously don't respect people's time and are dishonest.

But the latest problem and the biggest is that we were overcharged for a service and was told that we will not get reimbursed until they get paid from the insurance company wich they had to resubmit the claim because they put the wrong tax id on the form. Not our fault. This is after I was told that they would mail the check out. Haidi, the employee who takes phone calls and works the front desk, is extremely rude, snarky,…read moreshort, and greedy. She constantly cuts me off and gives replies like "okay" and "bye." It is good dental practice to let patients know beforehand what the cost will be. However, Haidi does not give you any information beforehand and will try to overcharge you. You will not know that you are overcharged until your insurance claims come back; then, she will refuse to refund you. My total for root canal and crown was about $2400. I chose to get the root canal done, but not the crown, as I have warranty with my dentist back home. However, I had already paid a portion for the crown (root canal was about $300 total since it was covered by insurance, crown was about $2100 since it was not, I had paid $782 so far total). I asked for a refund for the crown because I cancelled my appointments and did not want it done here anymore. Haidi refused the refund, saying the doctor has already looked at my tooth and I "spent time in his chair." Haidi is constantly arguing with customers and putting them down. She makes them feel stupid for not understanding the insurance fully and asking questions about what they have to pay. She does not explain the pricing well, even though detailing the pricing/coding is literally her job. She also tries to get you to open a credit card and put your entire bill, including FUTURE costs, on there. I believe it is because she wants your entire bill to effectively go through the credit card company, instead of Great Woods Family Dentistry, so you would have no way to get the money you paid back. She wants to avoid situations like mine where the service was not rendered, but the customer wants a refund. I would stay away at all costs. Although Dr. Mistikawi is friendly and wants the best for you, dealing with Haidi in any shape, way, or form will make you want to pull your hair out.

The doctor and assistant do a great job explaining the process and what to expect. The procedure was thorough and gentle. The doctor also was able to identify a small cavity in an adjacent wisdom tooth with the crown off and able to show me with detailed photos. He quickly took care of the cavity with a filling. Casey did a great job of cleaning and fitting the temporary. I really saw Kaysea's skill when Dr Emami decided to replace the temporary. Kaysea started the process by taking molds. This is usually a painful process for me due to 'bumps' on the inside of my lower gums. I alerted Kaysea to this and she was able to make it painless. Kaysea then made and adjusted the new temporary. It was dramatically better than the initial one both in size and fit. Kaysea made a number of adjustments before gluing it in place and then Dr Emami made the final adjustments. While I will, of course, be careful not to dislodge the temporary I've never had a temporary that fit this well or was more functional. Add all that to Kaysea's excellent 'chair side manner' and I want to share my appreciation. My wife, Denise, and I have been clients for many years and, as evidenced by our willingness to drive 3 hours round trip, have been very happy with our dental care. *UPDATE* The complete story is in the reviews below. My daughter was seen at Advanced Dental over…read morethe summer. She had a very minor cavity on an upper tooth and a more serious issue on a lower tooth. The dentist who worked on her tooth decided to work on the easier issue on the top and did not work on the more serious issue with the lower tooth at all. Shortly afterward that dentist was no longer employed by Advanced Dental. However, instead of notifying us about the situation, no warning was given and no one from Advanced Dental let us know that from that point forward they would no longer be willing or able to treat our daughter. Instead, they waited until my wife took time off from work to bring our daughter in for her next appointment and when she arrived, she was told that our daughter wouldn't be seen because they no longer had a pediatric dentist. So, apparently something that could have been avoided with a 10 second phone call turned into my wife missing a half day of work and my daughter getting no dental work done. In the meantime our daughter's tooth began to get worse and Advanced Dental refused to complete the work they originally promised would be done. We tried to find other dentists but no one could see her at all or immediately, including the so called referrals that we received from Advanced Dental. Eventually, we found a dentist in Stoughton called Children's Dental Health Center and they could see her relatively quickly, but by the time she was seen her tooth had decayed so badly that she was almost in need of a root canal. She lived in pain for weeks. Thankfully, her tooth was saved but it was extremely close. As you can see, since then all we've been told by Advanced Dental is how they did nothing wrong and how they did all they could. Laughable. But, in response I would suggest that if a business of any nature starts a project and is then incapable or unwilling to finish it, at the very least they should inform or possibly warn the customer in advance. Obviously, a child suffering is extremely serious, but I would even hope that a roofer would let me know that they couldn't finish my roof before the next rain storm. I would hope that a mechanic would let me know that they couldn't finish fixing my transmission prior to me coming to pick up my car on the day I was scheduled to leave for a cross country road trip. But, I guess that kind of common decency was, in my opinion, lost on whoever is running Advanced Dental. It seems like the only word their staff knows in NO. Obviously, I'm only one voice but it seems like there are plenty of other unhappy people who have used this company. I couldn't recommend any more strongly to be weary of this dentist and try as hard as you can to find another dental organization that will hopefully not just abandon you or your child mid-project. And like I already mentioned, my wife and I were patients at Advanced Dental for over ten years and our children have been going there since they were born. In my opinion, I have no other word to describe this situation other than outrageous!
