My friend had the meatballs which came in a sea of foul smelling chilli & tomato sauce. He didn't finish them & said he wouldn't order from here again. My girlfriend had spaghetti bolognese which looked & smelled awful, and was essentially a brick of congealed spaghetti with a very meager amount of dry looking minced beef dumped in one corner. She left most of it for our cats but they weren't interested either. I had a folded cheese & bacon pizza which was one of the oddest & most unpleasant pizzas I've had the misfortune to encounter. Unlike a traditional calzone, this thing had very little filling, just a thin layer of slightly seasoned minced beef & onion which had the texture of gravel, punctuated with large sweaty chunks of onion. The topping was a layer of mozzarella with a few tiny flecks of leathery orange matter which I understood to be bacon. The thing was dry & bland, entirely the opposite state in which it made its exit this morning. We also had a side order of "Southern Fried Twizzlers" which turned out to be seasoned curly fries, served moist & floppy in a polystyrene box. The man taking our order was polite & helpful, and delivery took around 30 mins on a Saturday night. Such a shame then that the food we received was made with no love or care. "Lincoln's only Mexican takeaway" is their tag-line, and also the most positive review they're likely to get.

As soon as I placed the order the person who served me took a piece of cod from the heated area, put it in a container with the chips and placed this item on top of the heated section. Following this she requested that the Scampi be cooked. Some time later, when the scampi was ready and served with chips, she took the cod and chips from the top of the counter and put it in a bag with the Scampi and chips/ When I got home the Cod and chips were cold and I could not eat it. According to your website all fish is cooked to order. The cod that I bought clearly was not. This is the first time that this has happened at your establishment. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. If this happens again I will stop using Elite.

We were driving through Sleaford on the way home and came across this place and had a takeaway. Why only 3 stars that will become apparent........ The fish is freshly cooked for you so you have to order when you arrive to get things moving and cooked. This is good, it shows that they aren't going to serve fish that could have been hanging around. They had an offer on at this place which was kids eat free - excellent! The t&c's were you ordered an adult meal and the kids meal came free. I think this was an offer at this place as it has recently opened. I was asked if I wanted the fish separately from the chips; I thought this was a good idea as the fish can go soggy sitting in the chips sometimes. The items were placed in separate polystyrene containers and then wrapped in paper. This all helped in my opinion to not have soggy chips etc, so far do good ! We got home, which is about 12 minutes away. The fish was excellent and I really do mean that. We recently ate at the award winning fish and chip shop in Whitby, Yorks and they were very good and in personal opinion this fish was as good if not slightly better, it tasted very fresh and had good texture and a really good taste. The batter was not greasy and it was still crispy. Unfortunately there was a downside to the meal, the chips were slightly hard. The first few I had I would say were firm but after consulting the wife for her opinion it became apparent that they were hard and not really edible. This was a shame as they were not at all greasy, which I find is a problem with takeaway chips sometimes. We had gravy, curry sauce and peas; these were average. The best curry sauce I've had is from a F&C shop in Grantham and this stuff didn't touch that, there was nothing wrong with it but it was nothing special. Staff all looked clean and tidy, the chef in charge appeared to be running things efficiently (apart from the chip situation). I've given 3 stars as the chips were an integral part to the meal and they were a let down. I will eat at this place again and if the chip situation changes I will up the mark to 4 stars. It should have been 4 stars today!!!

Riverford Organic Farms - Leek tart and spinach salad made with our first veg box using Riverford's tart recipe in the Autumn cookbook

Two thumbs up for Riverford veg box delivery! We happened upon their pop up tent at Gracechurch…read moreShopping Center in Sutton Coldfield this past weekend and decided to try their organic medium veg box with less roots. Everything so far is absolutely fantastic. Riverford's sales team were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. As a bonus for signing up, we got to take home a free cookbook written by the chefs at Riverford's organic farm restaurant and get our third box free. The sales team was also wrapping up so they sent us home with a bunch of bananas, grapes, an apple and a pear. Each was juicy and perfectly ripe. Our area is part of the Tuesday delivery route. The Riverford team took notes about what to do with our box should we not be home - very thoughtful and a good fit for working professionals. Our box was delivered just after 6am. The delivery person was thoughtful enough not to ring the bell to wake us and followed the leave instructions instead. What I thought was a newspaper or coupon flyer, was the lovely surprise of waking up to fresh veg on the stoop. The boxes are a great deal for organic vegetables. I'd say we pay about £3 more than for the same quantity from Tesco, which is definitely not including organic, environmentally conscious grown food. Also, everything is grown and harvested super close to us, so we don't have to worry about the veg rotting in 2-3 days! I'm so impressed with the quality and taste of the veg we received. We used the recipe book to make our first meal - a leek tart with spinach salad. It was scrumptious. The recipes are well written, diverse, and easy to follow. Riverford does an excellent job of making their crops accessible for home cooks and expanding your recipe repertoire. I highly recommend and look forward to the delicious veg that will be delivered to our door in the coming months.
