Big fan of this store. Has a large selection of main essentials any fish keeper would need.

Great prices and great customer service really recommend great quality on fish and corals

Jason and his team at Ellis Aquatics are amazing. I can always get questions answered if need be and find the best quality of corals at the best prices anywhere in LA. The selection is a decent size for corals and an ok selection for fish. But if you don't see a fish you want just ask and they can get it for you. The dry goods are also the best priced around and easily save a few bucks on each item. I will always keep coming back and I've been shopping here since it was run out of a garage. Now he has a store so congrats. Long over due review. read more

I came across this place through a referral from a friend. All of the great reviews are absolutely deserved. This is a great source for coral. Do not let the fact that this is out of the garage deter you from coming here. Hard to believe just how much coral they have from the basics to rare and uncommon ones. A great place for the reef geek to visit. The guys here are very dedicated and knowledgeable. They post specials on Facebook as well as hours. I will definitely be back. Well worth the drive from Rancho Cucamonga. Great job guys! read more

Nice setup, it's in a garage. Looks like a store inside though. Great prices and friendly staff. They have cheaper prices than the competitors. Save on taxes if you pay cash. Parking may be limited so keep that in mind. read more

Ellis is amazing ! Came here and got some live rock to start my tank and the prices were awesome ! Great service and great deals on fish and everything will come back again read more

Finally the LFS I was looking for. The corals are top notch and the prices are lower than the trading prices on the forums. The business model is great- they're willing to make less money on each sale, and hope you'll buy from them more often. And you can see why they can afford to have such low prices- they're not wasting a lot of money on maintaining dozens of tanks like your average LFS. But you can still get everything you want, just make sure to call or text beforehand. They gave me a great deal on a bunch of corals I never thought I'd be able to afford at other stores. This is by far the best place to go for coral frags in LA. read more

This place is a gold mine. You can strike your tank rich here whether you're high rolling or reefin' on a budget. At least 200 zoanthid frags, single polyps to fat colonies, so many to choose from. They've tons of sps coral, again single lil branches on up to massive mother colonies. Huge selection of acans, euphyllia, mushrooms, lobos pretty much anything you want in a reef system they have or can probably get. Probably 90% of my live stock is from Ellis. You need live rock? Look no further his tub is always full with white base rock to purple branch probably the cheapest I've seen around too. I've never purchased a fish from herw but there is a wide variety to choose from. In my own experiences a lot better water quality than a lot os stores I've been to. You just need to come in or call in with a ? Well Jason or the crew will have an answer! If you do not believe any of this review just head oj out to the CPT and see for yourself.. read more

Ellis Aquatics - Giant frag tank! - Local Fish Stores Near Me - Compton, California

I remember how frustrating it was to get into this hobby. Luckily I found Ellis on Craigslist, I went to his location and i was like a poor kid in a candy store. But I noticed everything was very reasonably priced. I remember having like a million noob questions for the owner Jason. He took the time to answer all my questions despite how busy he was. I now have been in this hobby for a few years and Ellis Aquatics is still my place of choice. read more
