I live down in Wheat Ridge and have been all over town to various nurseries looking for the best value and best quality plants and certainly believe Elliot's is still the absolute best. The nursery has new ownership and Jim is so lovely and kind! I stoked up on all my perennials and my vegetables for the garden and just am thrilled by what I can achieve with their lovely plants. I was running errands up north and happened upon this nursery. It's been around for decades and the original owner still works there with her son. It's catchy on the outside and the first thing you see when you enter is a cute little area with garden themed gifts. Then the greenhouse. There was a full inventory of all types of annuals, a smaller area for perennials and then the souls, rakes, gloves and fertilizer. Their prices were prominently found, which is a plus. Plants, like everything else, have jumped in price. This nursery beats all the big box stores, plus the owner is a very pleasant lady. My only caution is the plants were pretty dry. The only complaint I have is that I didn't discover Elliott Gardens sooner. I'm a Denver native and in all my years of gardening, never knew they were an option. I am blown away by the quality, variety and pricing! Gorgeous 1 gal perennials are $10 where their competition, just down the road - are charging $18. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Discounts are given for paying cash. I drove10 miles out of my way and the payoff greatly outweighed the inconvenience! I am a new loyal customer for life! read more

I've been going to Elliotts for many years. They have a large selection of flower baskets that are reasonably priced. Good variety of different vegetables. They also have a nice selection of annuals & perennials in small pots or trays if you are just looking to fill in small areas of your garden and don't want to dig large holes. I went here looking for a vine to attract hummingbirds..the man said teumpet vknes and all he told me was they can be invasive and nothing else. I went home and looked up groomong only to find out they were toxic to dogs and can be to human or can cause rashes. I have 5 dogs so i went back less than 48 hrs later and asked if he would exchange ior return. The plants were in pot with theyre sticker, i had not planted them. His response was..no because i dont know where the plants been or what was done to them, Not nicely either. ​this was same guy who talked to me less than 48 hours before and he didnt remember me. So because of his attitude and not being helpful at all and having a business that should help the customer and not be a jerk im leaving this review. The plants i bought were left in front of their buildng on the ground. I dont reckmmend this place what so ever. I would think that if they are foing to recommend a plant like that, knowing the person doesnt know theyre potentially toxic to animals, he might tell customer a little about whats he is recommending. Pretty sure this guy was manager or in management. If i could give a -10 review i wiuld just on the guys handling on this issue. I spent $45 on 2 plants i couldnt use or exchange. I love visiting nursery gardens most anytime of the year. I've been purchasing plants and soil amenities for 5 years at Elliott Gardens. Small family owned business. They still have a great supply of annuals and perennials that are on sale for fantastic prices. If you are looking for roses they have a good selection at only $33.00. I have been to so many garden shops in the area and Elliot's overall has the best prices and good quality. Everything I've bought from them has flourished. They have a great selection of roses that I haven't seen at other garden centers. They do not have a lot of staff, but who does now a days. The owner who normally is at the register can tell you everything about roses and all their plants. I've been to well known, big garden centers in the past and spent a lot of money all to have them die. Fully staffed places, well each person will tell you something different and some tell you the opposite of the other person. It can get frustrating! But Elliot's is a small family run business. They know their plants, and they have good quality plants. Good place to go if you know what you want and are looking for quality at a good price point. read more

Just amazing! In terms of variety, quality, and price. I just went for the first time, so this might be a bit of an outlier. Arrived on Friday just before noon and it was EMPTY. But right after 12.30pm the place was full of customers, families with very young kids who played with the 2 dogs (super friendly, well taken care of, and I'm usually easily scared by dogs). Yep, it took me a LONG time to decide what to buy, bought 6 plants in total. Was never rushed, was allowed to walk around without being interrupted, it's a big space. I too really want to love this nursery as to it's in the neighborhood. I grew up around here and always been happy to see that they're up and running. Great prices, plants and pottery - HORRIBLE owner. The place wasn't open at 9:30 (9:00 open) even though the open sign was on and blinking. She must have seen me attempt to open the doors believing they were open, but waited until I got to my car to unlock the doors, no biggy because I work retail as well. I don't want to be biased here, but there were only 2 customers and I don't look like the majority. But right away she pinned me as a "thief" and followed me around as the other customer was running around crazy trying to find her stuff. When I was about to leave, she asked about the seeds I "picked up." Sorry ma'am, if you took 10 seconds to engaged me, you would have realize that you didn't have anything I needed and I was just looking around. How silly of I to go look for seeds and soil here :). I suggest: Etchers Nursery (3x bigger and plenty) is just a 10 minute drive west of here. James Nursery (3x bigger with plenty of space and light) is just 10 minutes east of here. Hilltop Gardens (more specialty soil and plants) is also just 10 minutes north of here. read more

I love this place! Best prices in town. I drive out of my way to go here. AND I love that they grow a bunch of their stuff on site.

The staff is not wearing masks. I don't think that is real smart. I don't want covid. I won't go there again. Besides the opening times is not observed by the owner. I've been there twice 20 minutes after they were supposed to open and it was not open. Never again, its just frustrating. I guess she can affort to lose business. read more

Can I give them 20 stars? Please? If you are looking for gardening supplies/vegetables/flowers I really suggest you check this place out. This was my 1st time here and I was amazed. The prices were crazy cheap and they were really helpful. I have been paying about 3x as much elsewhere for nowhere near the quality. Amazing place to find all kinds of necessities for your garden ~ whether it be vegetable, flower or gnome. I found the prices to be on par with other garden centers, but their selection seems to be more healthy. Beyond flowers and veggies, they have a huge selection of pots and misc. garden decorations. More than anything, I really appreciate the organization of this place. I'm a gardening noob that loves and needed the big clear signs that spell out what kind of sun, moisture, food, etc.. specific flowers need. Didn't get any kind of greeting or help from the staff, but they were friendly enough at check out. I'll most certainly be back! read more

I have been going to Elliott Gardens for years. Now, I recently moved to a house just down the street from them and I am thrilled. They have great stock - and unique stock. Their pots and saucers are elegant, and reasonably priced. I always find cool things there that seem to do much better than when I purchase from other places. Hint: Thornless blackberry - So cool to have fresh blackberries most of the summer and Fall. This does really well in Colorado. Many varieties of Hydrangea, which is fun. I always find great things to adorn my garden with. I am so glad to be so near to them now. read more

Stopped by while I was on a walk with my 3 year old great niece. The owner was so rude to both of us. I asked her a question and she grudgingly told me an answer. There were fliers on the counter I asked her if I could have one she said NO and she moved them away from me!!!!! Her little white dog kept jumping and nipping my niece the owner did not try and stop the dog. We were the only customers in the store. I'm so disappointed I have a lot of yard projects and they are a couple of blocks from my place. I will not buy one thing from them. I prefer to buy local but I will go to a big box store which is farther away but at least I won't be shocked by possible poor service. I would give them less then one star if I could. read more

I believe this place is mainly geared towards providing gardening supplies, plants, and shrubs to retail or commercial locations but they do have a pretty decent selection for personal gardening. I came here looking for some backyard flowers and found some good choices, and everything was really decently priced. The cool thing about this place was that it was family and locally owned, they had there pups freely walking around the store and they were all really nice. The back of the store is set up with hydroponic plants which was pretty cool to look at and see how it operates. I will definitely be going back to get more plants. read more

Do not buy gift certificates here. They actually expire, and if you are the unlucky person like myself who doesn't realize this until you're at the counter to pay, the owner will give you nothing in return for all the money your friends/family paid to the establishment. (Not even an apology for the unfortunate policy.) Besides that, I can only say that I was shopping for 30-45 minutes, and the only customer from what I could tell. I saw 4 employees and no one greeted me or offered to help me until I approached the check-out counter. A lot of the plants were in need of water and weeding, although this was not reflected in the price. read more

I have had the owner Bill plant 5 bushel baskets with flowers for 4 years which I then place in half whiskey barrels to continue to grow all summer. He may appear a bit gruff at times but he's really a big puppy dog underneath his outward appearance. Bill grows most of the plants in his green houses so his prices are lower than most plant outlets. Give Elliott's a try. read more

Excellent family owned and run garden center. A year and a half ago we bought a house nearby and for the first time had a yard to take care of. We knew nothing. I tried getting the grass to grow and fill in empty patches with no luck. We finally went to Elliotts and they were a HUGE help. I told them what I was struggling with and what I wanted to do. Their recommendations were specific for this area and soil (not a generic national product that may not work well in Colorado). I have had huge success this year. I also appreciate that when I thought I needed to buy something they would tell me when it really wasn't necessary instead of trying to just make the sale. I highly recommend this place and enjoy supporting a local business that has great customer service. read more

I really want this store to be great. They're right around the corner from my apartment and from the size of their growing spaces, it looks like they might have a good selection of plants. However, they never seem to be open. Their posted winter hours are 9-5 M-F and Saturday 9-4. This is also what the message says when you call their phone number. I stopped by today at 4:30, and the staff inside waved at me and pointed at their closed sign. Which was right next to the hours that said they were open until 5 today. I have tried to call them on a number of occasions to ask if they had something in stock, and no one has ever answered the phone. The one time I did make it inside (in late spring 2014), they didn't have the seeds I was looking for or any suggestion on where I could find them. The staff person actually seemed unaware beets came in different varieties. (I was looking for golden beet seeds, which isn't a common thing to carry in stock. I could forgive not carrying a relatively uncommon seed packet, but the inconsistent hours, unhelpful staff, and inability to answer the phone ensures I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
