When I lived in New York, I was lucky enough to find Dr. Peng. To this day, he's one of the best…read moredoctors I've ever had and his staff is fantastic. Why is Dr. Peng so great? Well first of all, he listens and is actively interested in trying to figure out what happened and how we can find a solution. While sitting in the examination room, Dr. Peng would absorb everything I said, then ask me detailed follow-up questions. He would think out loud about possible causes of whatever issue I was complaining about, and you could see the wheels in his head turning as he went through one possibility after another. It was like watching a detective work. Throughout the process, he encouraged my input ("Do you think it could be related to ______?"). After we discussed all the possible scenarios, Dr. Peng would make a treatment plan and then we'd set up a follow-up appointment. Every time I saw him it was the same process: He would listen to my updates, then we'd make a new plan based on what worked and what didn't. In the end, we successfully figured out a solution to my problem. Overall, I found Dr. Peng warm, friendly, and intensely caring. I no longer reside in New York, but I highly recommend him if you live there and are in need of a urologist.

I joined Yelp nearly 9 years ago and have not written a review. So, this will be my first Yelp…read morereview: Last September, my dad developed a condition, which required an urgent need for a urologist. After much research and sleepless nights, we decided to make an appointment with Dr. Peng. Initially, Dr. Peng prescribed medications to try to resolve the condition and avoid an invasive procedure. After a couple of weeks, it was clear medication was not working and Dr. Peng suggested surgery. Dr. Peng was very through and explained everything to us in English to me and in Mandarin to my dad. Dr. Peng put us at ease enough for us to make the decision to let him do the operation. I am very happy to report, 3 months after my dad's operation, the surgery was very successful and the recovery smooth. My family (especially my dad) could not be more grateful for Dr. Peng and his staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Peng to anyone who needs a urologist. Dr. Peng's personality, professionalism, and skills deserves my first Yelp review and the five stars that goes with it.

This review is for Dr Polland's Physician Assistant, Christina Lee, Gynecology & Urology. Ms. Lee…read moreis very sweet and polite. Here's what went wrong - she made chastising and snide remarks about always having bacteria in my urine. The urine test showed no bacteria. I mentioned that I had a series of UTI's and had none since my surgery (stent in my kidneys). She had no idea what I was talking about. I am not a new patient to Ms. Lee and her office, uro-gynecology, had my records. She repeatedly dug her fingernails into me during the exam and commented on how thin my skin was and did I feel her nails digging into tissue. Of course I did - keep in mind this was a gynecology exam! Never before have I had an internal exam via fingernails. She noted I had internal irritations. Her clawing fingernails did not help this situation. She did not leave the room after the exam. She stayed in the room, facing me while I dressed. I have never had any doctor or PA do that before. It was uncomfortable and inappropriate. While I appreciate that Dr. Polland is very good at what she does, her PA, who is friendly and smiling, needs to keep her comments to herself, trim her fingernails, and be respectful of patient privacy. Not a good experience.

If I could give this office zero stars I would. This location is not closed as I had an…read moreappointment there this morning. I showed up, and was very concerned with the way the receptionist treated all waiting patients. Her name was Gladys. I've been to places that people have had a bad day and may have been curt with a patient but this was beyond rude. An elderly gentleman who just had heart surgery and with his arm in a sling needed some help with his application. Since he spoke broken English and needed help with his forms that I was helping him fill out, he went up to her to ask for his license back, and she literally yelled at him saying "Cant you see I am the only one here, I am not done with it, what do you need it for", but she didnt even give him a chance to explain, and he felt ashamed and went and sat back down beside me. The entire time he was coming back to sit down she was still complaining and making nasty remarks about this patient. Then another elderly woman walks in, politely says I am here for an appointment, and Gladys replies very rudely ok, so sign in-You see I am here by myself so give me a break. (What the heck- really this person is talking like that) Then it was my turn to complete the info and pay my co-pay before being seen. When I walked up and handed her my credit card she said very loudly, we only accept cash, so I responded, well your sign on your window states that you accept amexp, mc and visa, she said well that was before and we no longer accept it. I said I wish someone would have told me this before I came and her response was even louder then before was, well I don't know who you spoke to but I tell everyone and you can just leave and go to the bank! That was the last straw, and I responded, Let me tell you something, I understand people having a bad day but the way you have treated every patient is beyond my belief that you can treat people like this especially the elderly that need help. You are the reason why I am leaving and not coming back to this office.

I don't write reviews very often but wanted to leave this review in case it may help someone in…read moredeciding whether to go to Dr. Elliott Shulman's office, (urologist). I assisted my husband a follow-up visit after surgery and in hospital for 5 weeks. (2255 JFK Blvd location) Dr. Shulman is a very nice doctor. He has a nice bedside manner and overall a good doctor. We have no issues with him at all. The office is completely dysfunctional. The staff are not well mannered or trained properly and are downright rude to patients. I have to be honest the office is not very clean either. My husband's appointment was 8:15am and we got to see the doctor around 11am. No one even tried to let patients know what the delay was. I think this is an everyday occurrence. In my opinion, he has too many patients. My husband had blood tests done and a urinalysis. That took forever! We were to call back a few days later and we couldn't get an answer from the office. Tried many many times... It was over two weeks later when I finally got to speak to the office manager (Tasha) whom was nice to me as she overheard how badly the medical assistant (Jennifer) was speaking to me on the phone. Tasha gave me the results. Yes not the doctor!! The medical assistant (Jennifer) is a very rude person and should not be working there. The way she spoke to me was a disgrace. She is not doing Dr. Shulman and favors... The office manager said she was going to speak to her about it. I will never know if that happened. We finally left that office at Noon. 4 hours for an office visit. There is so much more I could write but I know some people don't like to read long reviews. Hope this helps someone!
