I used them because they were personal friends and that was my first mistake but I did learn from it. They did good work but they are pretty messy guys. They would come out in the morning and eat their breakfast and they're lunches here and left the wrappers on the ground to blow around in the neighborhood. My neighborhood is pretty meticulous about their yards and it's quite obvious, we have a nice neighborhood. They never cleaned up at the end of the day. We found so many nails all around our yard, in the driveway and all around our hot tub which we specifically asked them to clean around each day as we use it. They never cleaned up anything but funny how they broke two spotlights that were on the back of our house and were recently painted with the house and same color as the house. I see them out there raking up and cleaning one day and figured out the only reason why they raked where they were raking is to hide the mess from the spotlights they broke. When we spoke to our friend, he said they didn't know anything about the broken spotlights that they cleaned up....how ironic, because I watched him raking it up. They lied to us! So much for friendships. They also brought a puppy lab dog to the job with them, that's the picture you see for Ellington Roofing, he's tied to a skid which they found in my yard. That dog barked all day long and dug up my yard and they thought nothing of it at all.
I had recommended a huge job for Ellington Roofing which was up the road from me to which I took a backseat to as these people needed their roof done immediately and they were friends so I let them take my slotted time and let them do mine secondly. I even made the comment to my friend at Ellington Roofing "keeping it in the family" as I got him the job. All I can say is, I would never recommend them again and Yes, I've learned my lesson that when it comes to doing business with friends, don't expect to be treated differently, in fact expect the worse. I have been in this spot before a few times and NEVER AGAIN will I hire a friend to do work for me. SHAME ON YOU ELLINGTON ROOFING!
Tip: Definitely hold back your last payment until you are satisfied with the job including how they leave your yard and shrubs. read more
