I was in ellijay looking for a couch and heard Ace had some great ones! Who woulda thought?! Well I moseyed on in and was greeted by Phillip who was an absolute doll! He was so patient and kind while I sat on every single couch! He helped me measure and price them AND he hand delivered it a few days later! He is exceptional! The store is organized BUT if you think you've found what you want keep looking. There's a good chance a same/similar item at a lower price is around the corner or in another aisle. If you buy propane you will be paying for a full fill regardless of how much is still in your tank. Tractor supply charges per pound so you pay for what you actually get. read more

Nice store. A little expensive like most Ace Hardware stores. I was in this one approximately 25 minutes and was never greeted or offered any help. Early in the morning on Monday and no other shoppers there. I saw 7 employees inside the store that I walked past. None said a word. I would clean house if I owned this store because prices won't keep your customers. It is going to take a friendly staff which you don't have. read more

For those of us native to SoCal, Ace is your small and standard hardware store, smaller than Lowe's and Home Depot and with not as many departments and options. In Georgia, at least Ellijay and Blue Ridge, Ace is more versatile and has a sports clothing section, gun section and even furniture section. Recently my husband and I were on the hunt for living room furniture and being new to the area (and not knowing about Ace) I went on Google maps and typed in "furniture store." Up popped all the options and yes Ace was listed among the few. We were in Old Town Ellijay and the map showed that the ace was just a stone throws away. So, off we went, this particular Ace is larger than any I've been to and has plenty of parking. Their furniture gallery has a nice selection of living room furniture and plenty of recliners to choose from if that's what you happen to be you're looking for. If pictures to decorate your walls are what you need, they have several painting to choose from, and some nice one I might add. As we browsed around, we were greeted by Phillip who was an absolute sweetheart. We told him what he had in mind and he directed us to another area and pointed out two chairs that might interest us. Eventually we made our choice and bought the couches we were looking for. Sounds like an ordinary shopping experience right? Well, it would have been had it not been for Phillip. We told Phillip that we would be leaving town the following day and really needed the furniture delivered the same day. We were highly skeptical that it could be done since it was almost 3pm and business in this neck of the wood close early. Well, Phillip got to work and said he would have our furniture delivered within a few hours. We were so surprised that he and his delivery staff were willing to go out of their way and make a delivery on such short notice that we just couldn't pass up the opportunity and purchased our furniture right there and then. We told Phillip we would not be home to receive the furniture, which he said posed no problem. Shortly thereafter, we got a call from Phillip letting us know that our furniture had been delivered and all was well. This is what I call excellent customer service. Try getting your stuff delivered the same day in LA at no extra cost...yeah it's not going happen. I know that if ever I need other items offered at Ace, I will not hesitate to shop at this particular location. They have won my patronage. read more

This is about the most helpful place I've been to. They have everything, and I mean everything, you could need for your home, and there's always someone to actually help you find what you need and give you advice on projects and such, nothing like the big box stores. read more

This review concerns their cashier and the return policy. I went in and purchased two types of dimmer switches one switch for a light one switch for a ceiling fan. I was helped by not only one guy but two guys to choose the right switches. After uninstalling the current switch, adding the new switch, then having to re-move the new switch because it wasn't doing its job; I had to return the switch to Ace Hardware. I wanted the hum to stop in the ceiling fan that was caused by the current switch the new switch also had a hum. I brought the switch, the plastic cover it came in including the instructions the two screws, the bag I purchased them in as well as the receipt. However, the cashier upon pulling the items out of the bag made a comment that the packaging was all messed up. Um yeah I took the switch out of it that's why it was messed up and what does that have to do with my returning it? She not only looked at me like I had committed some sort of felony but she also had to go find the manager to approve my $14 return with receipt? Finally after I waited almost 10 minutes she returned to the cash register without apparently the managers approval asked me what was wrong with the switch after examining it for a full minute and once I explained the issue FINALLY put the money back on my debit card. That is a very tough return policy don't you think? read more
