My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant over the weekend. They had live music, which was a nice mix of classic and contemporary songs and the volume was just right where you could still enjoy a conversation. The food and service were excellent. We ordered the Southwest rice bowl, and ultimate steak sandwich. The rice bowl had excellent flavor and was definitely a full meal; would absolutely order that again. The steak sandwich had much more grilled steak on it then I expected, and the steak was very tender and perfectly prepared. The sandwich was on custom bread which was the perfect combination of soft bread with a great crusty exterior. I also ordered a side salad to replace the french fries; was a really good salad with multiple ingredients and a great homemade ranch dressing. Our waitress was also excellent, and moved us to a different table at our request, with a better review of the entertainment. The reason for a one star review is the following: The menu has no prices listed on the beer, or on the dessert. When I asked about this, I was told "all drafts are $8". Pricey but not hideous. But, alas, not transparent. And yet, a nefarious business practice. Seems like you're hiding something. Or, possibly presumptuous, as in "don't worry about the cost of the beer. We, as a business, have no obligation to make this information public." Either way, I don't trust an establishment like this for a large family reunion. The restaurant is very nice and open inside. I got the blueberry beer which is very tasty! Then I tried the blood orange beer, it was good but the blueberry was better. Then I ordered the fountain cheese burger that came with fried pickles but also got a side of the raisin coleslaw. The burger was really good and hearty, have to eat it with a fork and knife though. The pickle spears had a bit of a kick but wasn't bad at all. The coleslaw with golden raisins was really good. First time in Bemus Point as we are staying in town for the weekend with some friends. We were looking for an option for a family-friendly option, and a brewery usually meets the bill, as was the case here. The food was... Okay. In particular, I ordered the Nashville hot chicken mac n cheese, which was such a strong (sweet) mustard flavor and not a great consistency. The chicken was cooked well, but this wasn't Nashville hot sauce, it was a pretty mediocre ketchup textured sauce. This was only saved by the calamari appetizer that was stellar - somewhere between a general tso and sweet and sour sauce, and perfectly crispy. We enjoyed the beer as well, nothing stood out but all of the options were solid. Our waitress was attentive, although we had a few strange interactions with the other staff including the host. The building, outdoor seating and the view are beautiful though. read more

Great Location - They do have parking also, but because we came when they had fireworks, parking was crazy. We parked a few blocks away and it wasn't too bad. We expected to wait since there were people everywhere, but since we chose to eat indoors, we were seated right away. Our server took our order right away, but it was a little slow on the drinks and the food. But that was expected with the Holiday. We sat near the bar and the bartenders worked for their money today. Food was awesome. My hubby had a burger and I had beef on weck. I could have split the beek on weck with 3 people - lots of beef. My husband's burger was huge as well. Our drinks were really good and full of flavor. Peach sangria was so good. Hubbys old fashion was good, 2nd one was even better. We also had appetizers and dessert. Taters tots are a must. Updating my review as we visited again a few years later. We stopped for lunch yesterday and it was very good. We were immediately seated despite the fact that we arrived during prime lunch hours. I ordered the pulled pork, my hubby the fried chicken sandwich and my daughter ordered the chicken tenders. I also tried the blood orange hefeweizen. Everything was great and our waitress was so friendly. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean for the amount of people coming in and out. We sat on the front patio. This is a cool restaurant in Bemus, right off of Chautauqua Lake. The service was a little slow to begin with, but our server apologized and made up for it by comping our drinks! The food was not AMAZING, but definitely not bad. My husband had the fish tacos with a side salad which I thought was pretty good! The tacos could've used a little more spice, but they weren't bad! Our friend had a hamburger and said it was fine, just a little dry. I ordered the Cyprus Salad with grilled chicken. Pretty good, but it needed a little more of a dressing, perhaps a zesty Greek vinaigrette would've been good with it! The chicken was a little dry, but not bad. This brewery is new to Bemus Point and it is amazing! The food, drink, ambience and view is nearly impossible to beat. For anyone who has busted this area for years, it's the old "Surfside" restraint/bar tuned into a rustic/ modern work of art while keeping the beautiful Bemus old town feel on the corner of our 1 blinking light. Beautiful place with good food and drinks. The layout and decorations are very nicely done and the gardens are to die for. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. This place is trendy and a bit overpriced seeing you are across the street from the water and don't get the best view. Also a bit commercialized for the otherwise mom and pop area if you are looking for small town charm. They check your temperature on a machine that scans your body heat on the way in. There is also a hand washing station outside complete with soap and paper towels. The workers are all wearing masks and I felt safe being there. We came for drinks and had the Pinot Grigio wine slushy and a beer. The wine slushy was very refreshing and delicious. We had to order food due to covid so our group chose the crispy chicken thighs and nachos. Both food items were tasty and a decent portion size for a hearty snack. Also to note some of the somewhat strange things we encountered: -Areas on the front patio are near sewage pipes. Our first table was placed here but we were fortunate enough to be able to move because it wasn't super busy and there was an open table available. Regardless still gross! -Finally, we thought it was strange that we went to buy a gift card on the way out and they charge for the actual card on top of the amount you are gifting. read more

We loved the outdoor seating overlooking the lake. We ordered the Shrimp Roll and Pulled Pork Mac. Both were good, but it was hard to eat that much Mac & Cheese! EBC is a favorite. I love the food and atmosphere at both locations. My husband loves the beer, blueberry is his go to. Chautauqua lake is a beautiful backdrop. This restaurant is right on the lake, and in the heart of the small town shops of Bemus point. It has hints of Alex Bay and Marthas Vineyard. With all of that said, eating during COVID did not go as planned. It was my first experience eating at a sit down restaurant since reopening, and I was disappointed. People were seated back to back in the booths. TOO CLOSE. I asked for a drink menu and our waitress grabbed a plastic one off the dirty table of people that just left. The bus boy had his mask on his chin. And although they have a temperature station, it's not monitored or enforced. No one took our temperature. Maybe this was all a fluke, idk if the rain had anything to do with our experience. I'd still go back and recommend it, but my expectations would be different read more

Our experience here was pretty terrible. We were there with our big family (full of admittedly picky eaters). We asked if the fried chicken sandwich was brined in pickle juice and was told it was not. So we ordered 2, at 19.99 each. 40$ later, the sandwiches arrived and were '*definitely* brined in pickle juice. We only took 1 bite and left the rest untouched. The waitress noticed we didn't eat our dinners and we told her the problem... Rather than replacing the food or taking them off the bill, she told us because there wasn't anything "technically wrong" with the food, they couldn't do anything about it?!? What?!!? I was pretty disappointed especially because we asked before ordering. Would've been a simple fix, but instead left us hungry and 40$ poorer. Try The Fish across the street (it's on the water!) or the Casino by the ferry. Both those restaurants went above and beyond to make sure we left happy. It's sad when the ol dark "surf club" worked harder and left us happier (at a fraction of the price) than EBC. read more

We came to Ellicottville Brewing on an early Friday evening for dinner and drinks. Overall - our experience was mediocre. Service: like most restaurants these days, it is apparent that this restaurant is short staffed. Therefore, we came expecting to wait. Thankfully, the restaurant was not very busy and we were seated immediately. Our server was in quite a sour mood, but we did our best to be kind, patient, and grateful each time we were able to wave her over to place our orders and later ask for our check. I didn't see any other servers on the floor at that time, so I'm assuming the server's sour mood was caused by having to manage too many tables. Food: I ordered beef bourguignon (although, they may have named it something else - it was still a stewed beef in wine sauce served over mashed potatoes). Unfortunately, it came out without a single piece of beef - it was all sauce and veggies over mash. I assume that they add meat it separately, and the kitchen just simply missed a step. The rest of our party was content with their food. All in all, we love the location of this restaurant, and imagine that during the summer, sitting on the patio with a cold beer would be pretty near perfect (we'd be back for that!). Although, we probably wouldn't come back for a late season/fall Friday night dinner. read more

With so many less than stellar operations having been located here within recent years I couldn't have been more delight than to see that Ellicottville Brewing On Chautauqua having taken the place over. Though I miss the days of the Surf Club and Junie Schenck the other businesses that followed were total nonpluses for me. Indeed, I really feel that Ellicottville Brewing On Chautauqua has brought some new and refreshing life to this corner spot of Bemis. I stopped by and was delighted by the number and varieties of custom crafted brews. I had a number of them and found them all to be refreshing delights. I also tried their English Pub Burger which came rare as I had ordered it with a good layer of caramelized onion, bacon and English cheddar (my bet is it came from Cuba, New York) cheese with a creamy horseradish. At $14.95 and being able to sit on their outside patio with a view of the lake, it made for a most delightful meal. read more

This ebc restaurant is in a beautiful prime location in bemus point. The ambiance is amazing. The interior is very nice and clean. The drinks were very well made, the server was very friendly and attentive. The pretzels were good, the beer cheese was tasty I normally hate beer cheese and I was able to eat this. We love visiting EBC whenever we are in town! It's in such a convenient spot right in Bemus and has great views of the lake. On our most recent trip, I had the Blueberry Lemonade cocktail. So fresh and delicious!! I love how they incorporate fresh fruit into a lot of their drinks. I'm also a big fan of the blueberry beer they serve with fresh blueberries too. On this trip, I had the Lemon Asparagus Orzo with grilled chicken. It was so good! My husband took a bite and instantly wished he had ordered it too - it was that good! Highly recommend it. He had the fish fry which is a favorite of his at any restaurant and he also enjoyed that. The service here is always great. Everyone is so friendly and eager to help. We grabbed a few 6 packs of the blueberry wheat ale on the way out to bring with us back to our home in Vegas. Will have that to tide me over until we can return! read more

So this is the cool happening joint on lake CHQ that used to be the surf club if ur an old CHQ veteran of nightlife out here. Bam they renovated remodeled etc this beautiful wooden interior with ultra cool lighting. I'm here w the family again but here at night the bar is a meat market & full of hot gals. Cute waitress as usual and the bacon avocado bleu burg is very good. I did med well bc I wasn't sure but would have been fine at med. quinoa side Was very healthy. On other trips I've had the ahi plate and even tho it's not a sushi place it was good and fresh. Cool place. Very chic private area full of white plush. I really like it. 4 stars. If I can ever get a porch seat w the million dollar view I can up it to 5. Nice area Bemus Point. Mostly locals it's a great upscale (ie rich) lakeside clientele. Enjoy at ur leisure!! First, they wanted us to a squeeze 8 into table for 6 on the deck, when there were plenty of tables. Second, the glass ketchup bottler rim broke into one our hamburgers. The waitress offered to get him a new burger. The way the manager handled it was telling us, "We didn't make the ketchup bottle; not our fault". This was handled completely wrong. Think about if he had swallowed the glass! Then the manager said as she walked away, "I'm done talking about this". Our waitress was wonderful and did her best and was so sweet. After 35 minutes, the new burger was brought to him. The rest of us had finished our meals before he even got a new burger. A $20 burger should have been taken off the bill, not just $4. Our food came out cold. We will not be returning to EBC at Bemus Point. Think twice about eating there! Never again. read more
