I would caution anyone considering Dr. Ann Jayaram or Ellevate MD to ask exactly what a consultation includes and what the treatment will cost before making an appointment and the experience of the provider. The receptionist who took my call originally was kind and professional. I drove 90 minutes to see PA Paige, hoping to have a treatment immediately afterward. Another dermatologist had already recommended it, but couldn't see me for some time. I was able to get in quickly at Ellevate MD and wish I had done more research first. The consultation consisted of discussing what I had tried before and the price. I didn't get the guidance I expected from a consultation, and the treatment price was roughly twice what I had been quoted elsewhere, including by my dermatologist. When I asked whether they would consider waiving the $100 consultation fee, Dr. Jayaram come in and said , "What were you thinking?" and "You should have known better." She also said she should charge me for both the treatment and the fee. I found her response shockingly unprofessional, creepy, and condescending. I had driven a long way, learned the treatment would cost far more than expected, and was asking a fair question about a consultation that had fallen short. She made me feel ashamed for asking, and I left in tears. The way Dr. Jayaram handled a $100 concern made me question why she need to go to bat for a small amount of money. It's more important for her to get the money AND shame potential patients? I would not return, and I would urge others to be very cautious. read more

Dr. Jayaram is an expert! At just over 50, gravity was winning the race against my eyelids. Being someone who avoids surgery unless absolutely necessary, Dr Jayaram answered all of my many questions and addressed my concerns. The surgery took only 30 minutes, I was able to drive myself home, and after just one week of "social downtime," I was back to my normal routine. I didn't need to use Tylenol after the procedure, although did need to maintain diligence around icing. When I had a question around the healing process post procedure, Dr Jarayam responded within minutes (after hours) via cell. The results are incredible: it has taken years off my face, and my forehead muscles no longer have to work overtime just to keep my eyelids out of my field of vision. 10/10 experience and results. Dr. Jayaram is a skilled doctor with great instincts. Her diligence saved me from a very invasive (and unnecessary) MOHS surgery. Originally, my dermatologist suspected the presence of a melanoma lesion along my lash line. Considering the lesion's location and my desire for minimal scarring, I sought the expertise of an oculoplastic surgeon, leading me to discover Dr. Jayaram. When I initially met her it felt like I was sitting with an old friend. She was warm, informative, and put my stress to ease. Throughout the surgical procedure, she exhibited meticulous attention to detail. Not only did she ensure the preservation of the tiny lesion as a single piece for laboratory analysis, but she also achieved a remarkable aesthetic outcome. The initial lab results indicated the presence of melanoma. Given her direct experience with the lesion during its removal, she questioned the accuracy of the results and encouraged me not to panic. She decided to seek further evaluation by sending the sample to Harvard. Subsequent results from Harvard confirmed that the lesion was, in fact, NOT melanoma but a nevus. Thus removing the need for any surgical intervention. Had she unquestioningly accepted the initial results, I might have undergone a needless MOHS surgery, potentially resulting in the loss of part of my lash line. Dr. Ann Jayaram is amazing!! I love how boujie and clean her office is. It feels like I'm walking into a Beverly Hills office and I feel like a real housewife (without the overdone plastic surgery). I don't trust ANYONE with my eyes besides Dr. Jayaram. Getting fillers in the under eyes isn't actually a "simple procedure," because if it's done incorrectly you can go blind. Or, like what happened to me (when I got filler done in nyc), it was overdone and then it migrated to my cheeks and made me look like a chipmunk :( intially I had Dr. Jayaram do my filler and she did the perfect amount and we staying conservative with the filler (not too much, not too little). When I went to see another cosmetic surgeon, she said I needed more so I let her add another mL in my under eyes. That's when the migration happened and it completely moved from the under eye area. Thankfully, Dr. Jayaram was able to dissolve the filler, and I've learned my lesson to only go to her for filler instead of another doctor, because she really does understand the human eye! read more

I went to see Dr. Jayaram because I have asymmetrical upper eyelids. I figured it was the best time right now because I'm wfh anyway. I did a bunch of research online and Dr. Jayaram was the only one with 5 stars across all of her reviews. I also got some quotes for upper eyelid surgeries, and Dr. Jayaram's was the only one that seemed to be in my budget. Jenn, Dr. J's office admin person, is also super nice and was a delight to chat with. I remember asking her a ton of questions, and she always replied to all of them. On the day of surgery, Dr. Jayaram walked me through everything. She walked me through each step. What made it the best was that she talked with me through the entire surgery. It was like I was like her friend rather than her patient. And I think this is what puts her over the top for me. She answered any questions I had, but also is so very warm and welcoming. I was recommended steroid drops which was initially mentioned as costing $280 and then after sometime brought down to $60. This drops didn't help anyways. And the consultation fee is $475 The staff in this practice are not transparent about the costs. They don't even mention if they are part of in network or out network. I had noticeable loose skin at the outer corner of my upper eyelids that were not properly addressed by the surgeon who did my upper blepharoplasty revision a year ago. I had consulted 4 different oculoplastic surgeons in L.A. and SF Bay Area. All of them told me they couldn't excise the loose skin, or made it sound like it was difficult to fix. One even told me that I would just have to live with the loose skin. Dr. Jayaram was the 5th oculoplastic surgeon I had consulted. All I had to do was tell her my concerns, she immediately agreed with me and diagnosed the issue at hand. She then talked about how she would excise the skin and improve the overall appearance of my eyes. I was very impressed with her knowledge and booked the procedure after my consult. I'm a healthcare provider too and I have had procedures before, so I am not someone who's easily impressed. My procedure was basically a truncated version of Dr. Jayaram's signature upper eyelift. I was in and out of the office under 40 minutes; the actual excision took less time than that. Very little pain, and I could tell her surgical skills were excellent. Trust me I used to work post-op and got to see some interesting stitching skills by different surgeons. Anyway, recovery was smooth, hardly any bruising and swelling. Loose skin issue practically unnoticeable and the shape of my eyes much improved. If I ever need eyelid procedures again I would definitely get them with Dr.Jayaram.
