While I am no aficionado on the finer points of dry cleaning, I know that when I've had my shirts and suits cleaned, I've never had any damage or had cases where my shirts were over-starched. During a pandemic when every dollar counts, this unprofessional owner took my money, damaged my shirts and refused to reimburse me for neither my shirts nor the cost of cleaning! He hung the phone up when I asked for the right thing to be done. This is a fair post from a person not angry at the establishment. They are good at cleaning clothes. However, they are not good at alterations. On several occasions I've asked them to perform alterations and each time they fail to handle them correctly. In fact, on one occasion the leg on a pair of my pants was cut shorter than the other. I've tried to give this place a fair shot, but they just keep disappearing. In summation, I am sad to report that Ellen's has an inability to perform alterations. They are a drying clean only type of place. Hopefully they will improve in the future. read more

Horrible, HORRIBLE customer service. On pick-up, the woman behind the counter requested more than the amount on my claim ticket. When I politely asked her to explain the reason for price increase, she said, "That's the price...now pay for your clothes." When I asked again, she yelled at me, asking why I don't want to pay for my clothes. She refused to let me speak to a manager. Dry cleaners come a dime a dozen. Please save your self the stress, by dealing with this disreputable establishment. They actually STOLE MONEY FROM ME. Please read further! I have had other issues with this cleaners before (e.g. they stained/burned a white shirt that I had cleaned there and I didn't notice it until weeks later when i took it out of the cleaning bag. Instead of bringing it back to them to argue over it, I had to throw it away, which cost me money) but this time they have gone too far. I took two expensive pairs of Perry Ellis dress slacks (on 9/3/11) that both needed to have seams repaired in the cuffs because the bottom part of the cuff was falling out. They said they could repair it so I left them there and picked up the pants on the following week. I paid and left without looking at the seam repair (on 9/9/11). They so called fixed the cuff by stitching a seam directly through the middle of it in a circle through the cuff of the pants leg (on the outside where everyone can see a big stitch through the bottom of my pants). I returned to complain. The amazing thing is that they agreed that the repair was poorly done but tried to insinuate that I might not have had it done at their store even thought it had all the tags from from their work on the inside and I had been there the day before and also had my receipt. After a frustrating conversation with them about their very poor customer service, i demanded that they provide a refund of what they had charged me. Unfortunately I stated the wrong amount while arguing (I asked for my $13 refund when they had actually charged me $17). They did give me $13 but when i got back home and looked at the receipt, I realized that they had cheated me out of $4. I called them back and asked them for the remainder of the refund and they refused. I would never do business with these guys again and would advise anyone reading this to do the same. Please stay away from these guys. Poor customer service, bad alterations skill, burnt stained white clothing, and they STOLE MONEY FROM ME. read more

I have been a customer of this cleaners for the past six years and will not take my clothes anywhere else. The young ladies are always professional and very friendly. I had an issue with one of my husband's shirts and they owner immediately took care of the problem, in fact he took the time to explain what happened and we were very pleased with the quick resolution. I have tried several other cleaners and I was not satisfied with the level of professionalism or service. We moved on county over and even though there is several cleaners near us, I travel to Ellens to have our clothes dry cleaned. I can say that Ellen's is by far the best cleaners I have patronized and I will continue to use them. I used this cleaners occasionally for years but my last three visits have been very disappointing and a big inconvenience. I picked up my order to only find a couple of days later that an item was missing... I went back and was told they needed the receipt. So I had to go hunt for it... luckily I still had it. The next time they lost a belt to my blouse, I had to leave it with them and come back in a few days later . The final and last time, once again not only did they forget to give me one of my items, they also gave me back an item that had not been cleaned, just hung up on a hanger. When I returned and asked for my refund for that item, I was told I would have to come back when the manger was there REALLY. Forget it... I'm done....these three visit has not only turned into 8 visits the frustration when getting ready for o wear something to find its missing or still dirty is not worth the hassle. Beware!!! Don't take your clothing to this cleaners!!! They lack complete integrity and will ruin your clothes without telling you about it. I bought a dress that I've worn once into the cleaners to be cleaned. The dress had no stains. However when packing for a trip i pull out my favorite dress to see that the dry cleaners ruined it with ink stains. The rude dry cleaner clerk calls me after my dress has been in their shop for a week stating that it's my fault because i waited a month before returning to the store to complain about the dress. Well contrary to his thoughts I don't wear the dress every week, so I had no reason to check the dress before I was ready to wear it. I trusted this cleaners and they basically told me to go to hell and they wouldn't be paying to replace my dress. I think businesses such as these who lack integrity should not be allowed to do business in our communities. I will be filing a BBB claim and seeking a solution. I don't care if the dress was $100 that does not give them the right to ruin my dress and then not take responsibility for their error. I'm sick of companies like this. CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAY - WITHOUT NOTIFICATION !!! We went to pick up our dry cleaning the morning of Friday, July 1, and the dry cleaner was closed for the holiday. They had our clothes - the clothes that we would be wearing for a week-long holiday vacation!!! It was never mentioned when we dropped the clothes off earlier in the week that they would be closed on Friday. In fact, while we were there 3 other cars drove up for their dry cleaning. This place is horrible. I picked up clothes and paid with my credit card. A couple of days later, I noticed duplicated charges on my card. I called this dry cleaners and spoke with a woman who began looking up the transaction. She confirmed that my card was mistakenly charged twice and said if I came in that same day or the following day, they would reimburse me or give me a store credit. She did not apologize or seem even remotely sympathetic to the inconvenience that this caused me. When I went to the location, and mentioned to the one woman at the front why I was there...she asked if I could come back the next day (I'm assuming because the person I spoke with was no longer there.) Uhh hmm......no. I had driven 15 miles in the rain, there was just no way. Finally, she was able to get in touch with someone who authorized the refund. And of course, still no apology. woohoo is right, my polo shirt was brought in for some monogram to be done, when i got it back it wasn't really to my satisfaction, i complained to the cleaners clerk, which i'm sorry that i don't know her name , but she asked me to return with shirt and made sure that the monogram was not only done the right way but also replaced my polo shirt, that was great..good business practice made me a very happy customer and would definitely recommend them to every one that i know . its nice to know you can trust your clothing to a cleaner that will step up to the pump if something goes wrong.. keep up the great customer satisfaction . good job!! read more

Do not take anything you love to this place. I took in my gown to be dry cleaned before a formal wedding out of state. When I picked up the dress I did not notice anything wrong. The next week my husband and I flew to D.C. for a wedding. With hair and makeup done I proceed to put on my gown before we headed out. When I put my dress on the entire side of the dress had come undone. Now, I could understand if it was a cheap dress but with a price tag of $1,300 it is hard to believe. However, I only paid $600, but not the point, I was unable to wear my very well made gown. When we came back from our trip my husband took the dress back as I was leaving to go back out of town. They tell him they will fix it right away and they would reach out to me if they had any questions or when it was ready. I did not receive a call for about a week so I called to follow up. I spoke to the "manager" who tells me to explain to her what the problem is which my husband had already done in person. I begin to tell her the entire side of the dress had come apart. She then asks me if "I can come show her." Absolutely ridiculous, you can't miss it. She tells me that she now sees what I'm talking about and that it would be ready in 4 days. When I go to pick up the dress, it seems to be back to normal. I proceed to ask her if she was going to credit my account the amount I paid to have it dry cleaned? She ask "why would we do that, we fixed it"? I tell " because I paid you to do a job and you didn't do it, instead I was 600 miles away with a dress I couldn't wear. Not only did you ruin my entire trip, but now your customer service is appalling on top of it." She looked at me like I was crazy and repeated again that she was not going to do anything else for me.
