I am writing to express my deepest concern and disappointment regarding the experiences my child had to endure while attending Ellen Ochoa Learning Center. These events have not only impacted his educational journey but has also caused him significant emotional and physical distress, making his time at this school traumatic.
Since 2022 he had encountered several troubling incidents, which were not adequately addressed. He was bullied by staff, inappropriate behavior from lunch staff, publicly humiliated by staff knowing he had accidentally defecated due to being withheld from using the schools public restrooms, as well as they disregard any doctors note you take.
Moreover, I am particularly distressed by the fact that despite multiple visits to the school office related to these incidents, I was never informed by the school. As a parent, I should have been promptly notified about any office visits involving my child, especially given the serious nature of the issues he was facing. This lack of communication is unacceptable and has only added to the severity of the situation.
These lack of actions has not only exacerbated the situation but led to a significant decline in my child's academic performance as well as emotional and physical health.
As a parent, it was heart-wrenching to see my child having to endure and suffer situations due to the very institution that should be nurturing and educating him.
I do strongly advise against enrolling your child at Ellen Ochoa Learning Center. My child's traumatic experiences and the schools failure to notify parents about serious incidents are clear indicators that this school does not prioritize the safety and or emotional health of its students.
