sooooo long overdue, here it goes!! I found Krystelle through a few different connections, all of which I trusted so I eagerly booked my first appointment (this was back in 2021?) At the time her studio was just down the street from me in Walnut Creek. Little did I know that I would have amazing hair transformations time after time, AND a lightweight therapist LOL. Since then I've followed Krystelle to her salon(s) in Danville and will certainly continue to her new salon in Alamo. Why?? Well my hair in itself gets SO many compliments. But beyond looking fabulous, Krystelle is so patient and so kind. Sometimes I go in with specific and odd requests, sometimes I have no idea what I want and I just entrust her to do whatever. In either situation, she listens to my needs, my curiosities, all of my random thoughts. She is also an EDUCATOR. She takes the time to tell me why certain things could work/ wouldn't work, and why. So I actually feel more informed about my hair and my hair decisions. This review is LONG overdue! I have been seeing Krystelle Rain regularly for 9 years now. I had previously tried to color and trim my own hair for years, and it was the color and consistency of straw. I was a bit embarrassed for a professional to see the dreadful state my hair was in, but Krystelle was warm and non-judgmental. I'm shy and have a lot of social anxiety, but immediately felt comfortable with her! Her expertise and knowledge were evident, and I felt confident that I was in capable hands. I have been struggling to find someone closer to home who can give my hair the usual treatment and care that my current stylist provides however the drive across the bay to the Peninsula was becoming too much of a hardship for me. Sitting in someone's chair for 4 hours plus a 3 hour commute was becoming a bit difficult which was prolonging my appointments and creating avoidance! This all resulted in my hair not looking it's best. After months and months of searching I decided to give Krystelle a try. This was after weeks of following her Instagram page and seeing her work. Cannot thank Krystelle enough for fixing my hair. I began with uneven hair from last hair cut and everyday was a challenge. When I looked at the mirror everyday I always felt there was something wrong but I just can't tell what. It's all because of my layers was not even and it's hard for me to style my hair everyday. Thank goodness I found Krystelle bc she was my last piece of hope and alas- she delivered gold. She listened to everything I needed and desired, kept it honest and gentle on my hair. And on top of that- she worked fast and my hair turned out BEAUTIFUL and she def is affordable. Since I've moved to the bay I have had THREE tragedies happen to my hair. Three different stylists too. All ranging from word of mouth to Instagram influencers. Eye roll. First gal burned ALL of my hair off- I have a lot of hair almost in comparison to shakira - so you know how devastating that ish was Second gal gave me folluculitis - look this up. this means their tools were unsanitary. Beware. Third gal - I had a severe allergic reaction to her ultra lightening bleach. So she ended up putting the ugliest color brown over it. Omg. Back to Krystelle, I wish I would have found her as my first stylist - that way I didn't have to deal with the other bulls*** but I found her now and my soul is most definitely confident that she will fix this quickly. Wish I had seen the deal for cut and highlights, but I saw a cut and conditioning coupon online and that was a terrific deal for $30 - especially because Krystelle did an excellent job! I've loved my cut all week, and especially when I went to style my hair on my own. Her layers fall in the right places, giving my hair the most volume. Krystelle was really friendly during my visit to Hair at the Ritz. We chatted while she gave me an amazing shampoo/conditioning, and all through the cut. She spent a long time blow drying my hair and I finally understood why there are blow dry only salons. Her hair blow drying skills are amazing - I guess you'd have to experience a really awesome blow dry styling to get it. She seriously styled my hair with just a brush and hot air. I mentioned that I want brighter highlights when summer comes around, and she told me this is her favorite thing to do. Good to know! I paid extra for her to color my roots ($65) since they were really outgrown, and she was able to match the color, no problem. It's hard for me to explain how I want my hair exactly but she was able to figure it out. Went to Krystelle for highlights, and she did such a fantastic job. I LOVE it, she is professional and when she is working you can tell she is putting all her effort into it. Its not like other salons I have been to where its rushed because the next client was booked too close. Her full attention was on my hair, and it felt great. Also no pressure to spark conversation all the time, you can just relax while she works her magic. She took me from a medium brown to a beautiful blonde, and the best part is I cant detect any damage..my hair is still easy to comb through, no frizz, and no breakage. My experience with Krystelle was so wonderful, I made a yelp account just to give her the review she deserves, and for my way of thanking her for the awesome service I received! I came into her salon, as nervous as any other girl is before getting their hair done. However, I left with a huge smile on my face and my confidence level at it's all time high. It was my first time dyeing my hair, so you know I was nervous. My natural hair color is black and I went to a light brown, with blonde highlights. It was definitely a long process, as I have thick and long hair, but Krystelle was very patient! You could not only tell how much she loved what she does, but you could tell that she does it well! I also received a trim, which I usually cry about after, but Krystelle made me love every part about it.
