We were assigned to Ellas Oil through an oil coop. We had noticed that our delivery had not arrived and my husband contacted the company directly on a Friday morning. Our tank was almost on 0. He contact Marion in the office first thing in the morning and she advised him that the oil had already been delivered but she would have Frank (the owner) contact him. Frank called back and his exact words were "Buddy, your delivery is done. Maybe you don't know how to read a gauge". After 2 hours of back and forth where they INSISTED by yelling at both myself and my husband. "Maybe you are blind and your Ring camera doesn't work" were the words the office used - we asked for proof of receipt of the delivery (which we had gotten on every other delivery). They told us "it was too cold to leave the receipt" and emailed us over a copy that had the incorrect date - amount delivered and was whited out (all red flags). I called Marion back and pointed out all of these discrepancies and FINALLY they looked into it. Turns out - the oil WAS DELIVERED TO THE WRONG HOUSE! After being screamed at by Frank, and spoken down to by Marion. They said our delivery would then be done. Frank then had the AUDACITY to call my husband and ask if we had our neighbors contact information so that they could go and collect money from them. I would NEVER do business with them again. Customer service and the rapport you establish with your customers is top priority. Frank and Marion should be ashamed for how they spoke to us. Suggesting maybe we were "blind and did not know how to read a gauge". When in fact it was THEIR DRIVER who did not know how to properly identify a house that had been delivered to several times before. THAT IS NOT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT. DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER USING THEM. We also called and alerted the coop and will be reported them for fraud for altering the delivery slip (which was quite obvious) read more

Great service! Ellas has been delivering our oil for a good number of years - always delivered with time to spare. A pleasure to deal with, whether it's delivering oil, servicing the furnace and all round communication. Highly recommend them! read more

There is always something with this company! They never deliver oil on time. Why do I need to call multiple times for oil? If you can't handle the deliveries then accept less customers and contracts. The service guy who does cleanings is nice but the way the business is run, the owner ALWAYS has a problem or excuse for something. Get it together! read more

If you have oil- call Ellas. I am surprised to see any reviews not 5 star. My father used Ellas oil since the 1960s. A contractor/engineer himself, he was not an easy man to please. When I got my first house, of course I used them too. I had no idea what I was doing. I often ran out of fuel (my fault, since they do have auto delivery that I eventually signed up for and works GREAT), I forgot to call them back when they told me it was time to service my boiler.. (for years at a time..!) until the filter clogged, I accidentally flipped the switch off and other assorted idiot moves- probably every idiot move a new homeowner could possibly screw up! I can not count how many times they bailed me out on a dime, usually in the middle of the night, even once when I called an hour before the Superbowl in 2013- WHEN THE GIANTS WERE PLAYING! Another time they installed a Buderus boiler and water heater. The water heater coil spring a leak two months after the warranty expired; Frankie helped me fight the company, provided copies of the 6 year old paperwork, they jury rigged a temporary fix to give me time to battle the manufacturer. After I had been a client for many years, I lost my job when the housing market crashed. I spoke to the owner and he was fabulous about giving me time to pay my overdue bill, while still delivering oil. I have nearly 20 years of stories like this. I also have a boiler in my father's house that's 28 years old and running strong becasue they recommended it, installed it, and service it once a year. They've taught me some basic troubleshooting so I call them less! I used to call and say "there's thing thingy on the big box making a Whhooo whoo whoo sound and its its cold in my house." Now I can actually talk to them in their language- second floor circulation pump's not runnning even though the relay is calling for heat. I feel competent as a homeowner. They're never looking for ways to "pad" or generate a bill. I talk to the same people every time I call, and after a while they recognize your voice. You see the same person every time you need service. Anything that goes wrong in my boiler room is almost a relief becasue I know they'll rescue me. On a closing note- Someone left a negative comment about "the receptionist." For the 20+yrs I've done business with them Marian always answers the phone. Not only is she an effective problem solver and efficient coordinator, but she may be the nicest person ever. If you can't get along with her, there's a C-word for that person. read more

I'd reconsider the person you have answering your calls. If it were up to my I'd never use this company just off of the way I was treated on the phone. "Maryann" I believe your customer service is awful and someone should talk to her about it. You ruined my day before it was started Bad look for a local business. read more

I would give them 5 stars were it not for their receptionist. Frank has been wonderful and always goes out of his way. He returns your calls and goes above a beyond. His receptionist is another story. Gave her the benefit of the doubt the first time, everyone has a bad day now and then. Unfortunately any time I call she seems to be having a bad day. She is curt and hangs up before you end your sentence. Maybe there are two receptionists. Unfotunately she she is the first point of contact so I will probably start looking for another oil provider because of the unpleasant experiences recently. Oil is always late. Who ever they have as a receptionist needs to have a better attitude she was very unprofessional. If you don't like your job get a new one. Not a way to treat your customers. You guys need to step it up. read more

I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years!! Be careful with how much oil they actually put in your tank, and how much they say they put in. I always have them call me before they deliver oil. One day they didn't, and my oil bill was over $1,700. When I called and called no one would give me an answer. Only answer I got my boss will call you. Then they said they came twice in one month, which didn't even make sense. when I called and complaint about it receptionist says boss will call you. then they charged my husbands card with no one authorizing it. I called, the receptionist got very nasty and said you should pay your bill then we wouldn't have to do this. I told her how I'm paying a bill in which no one is giving me an explanation for. I called my bank and told them the situation.. They try to call Ellas over and over again. But all where failed attempts.. Months after months. read more

Frank has always been very understanding and kind especially when being late with payment, he'll still delivers oil. I also had a leak in my boiler and he had the guy come out right away and fix the problem for me so I wouldn't be without heat. I have nothing but good things to say about the company and appreciate their kindness. read more

Excellent service, had no problem with the receptionist, courteous and very helpful always asking if there is anything else she could help with prior to ending the call. My family and I have used Ellas for years, to date no issues. Frank is knowledgeable, helpful and provides explanation for necessary repairs giving the home owner confidence and the comfort in knowing the work is necessary. read more

We just moved to Westchester not too long ago - and our new home has an oil tank. Well - during the last big snowstorm (Dec 14th-15th, 2013) our oil tank ran out of oil at 5:00 in the morning. I've never had an oil tank before - so this is all pretty new to me. I called several oil companies - and no one would come out to help us with a few gal of oil to get through until Monday. Ellas oil came right out - gave us 20 gal of oil and changed the filters and got us up and running again. Then - the next day (Monday)- they came out and filled up our tank at 8:30AM. I am so glad we found this company - and I highly recommend them. If you have an emergency - they WILL help you on short notice. This is important to me because I have small children - and things happen.. I need a company that I can count on to help me if something goes wrong. These guys are great - Frank is very professional, courteous, timely, and thorough. He took the time to explain everything - changed the filters and cleaned up everything - They are great !! read more
