I'm very picky about my hair and am learning what I like as I wanted to go shorter. At my first cut short with Dream, it was storming and the power went out at the salon and we didn't get to do the finishing touches, so she gave me a free product had me come back a couple days later for a complimentary cut where I decided I wanted to go even shorter and get bangs. I still was not satisfied with the cut (let me clarify that Dream is an amazing stylist and did exactly what I asked her to do, but I wanted to pick an owner's brain about what would look good on me), so I requested an apt with an owner. Tony got me in the next day and we took it even shorter and he cut it with a razor. He made it look exactly like the picture I showed him but I still was not satisfied with it on me so I requested to come back again for a pixie and he got me in a few days later. I LOVE how the pixie looks on me. It just took me four separate haircuts to get there. I only paid once for the initial cut. And after the last cut Tony still said to give him a ring if anything else needs to be done. This is pristine customer service. Everyone I interacted with was so patient, accommodating and supportive as I learned how I wanted my hair to look. Additionally, both salons (Clawson and Birmingham) are super clean and just cool spaces to hangout when getting a haircut. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend.

If you're reading these reviews trying to choose a stylist, try Vega - you won't regret it. The salon itself is gorgeous and welcoming - I love all the snacks and drinks they offer, the music is always great and the rest of the employees are lovely and seem to be equally great at their work, from what I've observed. I'm moving to Boston soon but I plan on scheduling appointments with Vega whenever I visit Michigan, rather than finding a new stylist in MA. That should tell you everything you need to know!

I used to 'stylist hop' because I was: a) not happy with my hair b) felt the conversations were super forced c) appointments took wayyyyy too long & the stylist would overbook. Well, in Colleen I've found the perfect trifecta - I literally have the healthiest /best hair of my life, I love going in to see her/ the conversations are so fun (so is the wine they offer lol), and she takes time to discuss my hair goals / what's realistic for getting there, AND I'm not there for an entire day- she's on top of her stuff! This was not only frustrating but particularly a big issue since most decent salons are booked up in advance and they are closed on Sundays AND I was leaving for a 2-week vacation on Monday. So I was freaking. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg either. I called a few other salons and of course, nobody could accommodate. I then called Aqua and even though they were extremely busy...they were able to fit me in. I actually explained what happened to the receptionist (seriously love him) and he immediately felt my pain and said that they could get me in right away. so five minutes after calling I was in my car and on my way. My stylist was Holly and she was great. I didn't get a cut, just color, but she did an awesome job at executing what I wanted. She was so gentle and sweet and I will definitely be coming back to see her. Aqua saved the day and I didn't spend any more than I wanted to. Going forward, Aqua will be my new go to salon! Their customer service was on point - again shout out to the fabulous receptionist.

Holly cut my husband's hair. She seemed nice, was chatty at the beginning and end and concentrated during the cut. The wash and cut took about 30 minutes. It also cost $30. Tips have to to be given in cash, rather annoying since I am not one to ever carry around cash and don't want to be paying $3 to use an ATM machine, which is ornamental, as it does not work. The top was nicely trimmed. I did have to clean the sideburn on his left cheek and around his ears on the right side of too. The attention to detail needs a bit of work.
