The Elkton Farm Store is a tractor repair and part store, offering retail sales of new and used farm implements and replacement parts, and repair services on tractors and associated farm implements.
The Elkton Farm Store's goal is to provide high quality parts and customer service at reasonable prices. We have over 75 years of experience with most makes and models of tractors and farming equipment. The Farm Store has built a loyal customer base by providing sound, knowledgable advice, and by having parts for old and new tractors and equipment in stock at a fair price. In many cases, the only place an antique tractor part can be found is at the Elkton Farm Store.
History
Established in 1900.
In the early 1900's, the Elkton Farm & Home Store began as a general mercantile store selling items such as groceries, dry goods, hardware and textiles. The store was located at the top of the hill on Main Street across from present-day Elkton City Hall.
Over the years, the products offered by the store continued to grow and by 1957, the store boasted itself as "Giles County's Most Complete Shopping Center: A Modern Food Market - Dry Goods - Hardware - Appliances - Feed & Seed - Fertilizer - New and Used Farm Machinery - New & Used Tires - Hester Batteries - Homelite Chain Saws."
In 1970, the building was destroyed by a fire; the result of an electrical issue. Due to the lengthy projected cleanup time, partners Casey Jones, Richard Bondurant, and Andy Anderson, decided to rebuild down the street on some land they already owned. Meet the Business Owner: Kent B.
Kent grew up farming in Tennessee. Both of his grandparents were full-time farmers and Kent operated his own farm in Dellrose, growing hay and raising and training Quarter Horses. Kent also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and is a journeyman machinist. Kent also proudly served his country as a US Army veteran.
