This may be off putting to some however the food has been pretty good on the times I have been here. The area is spacious and the bar area is very nice as well. We were here most recently for a club Christmas party. The food was good, the beer was cold and the place was looking festive. Parking is ample as well. Consider this venue when looking for a place for your next party, you'll be more than satisfied. It was interesting we also went for a meal and got a flight to taste - She seemed to pour each glass separately to taste after we finished the previous - (so no actual "flight" at all). What made it odd to begin with was that she gave me the glass of wine to taste while I was busy playing a bean-bag game they had there - which made playing the game difficult and tasting it difficult. Then when we sat down, she poured the next tasting ..... INTO THE SAME GLASS. Okay. That mixes you know but fine, save washing dishes... And what made it more odder was that each consecutive glass she poured was less and less. The last glass was literally laughable. As if someone left that behind when they were finished with their wine- thats how much she poured. I should have said something but I was a bit in shock. The couple near us had a real flight - On a wood board and full glasses but they had the cider so maybe that is why they had more. The taste of the wine was not to my liking and my bf felt the same. So why the 4 stars and why would I go back? great scenery and porch overlooking the field friendly staff - though the service was a bit odd. I would give them another chance with the wine and cider if I was in the area.... But what took them to a 4 was that they served not just the usual wine and cheese tasting but a meal. Generally one bartender takes care of a large bar and all patrons, which leads to a long slow line that has to form in a particular way or the regulars will cut ahead of you as you wait. The drinks are fine, not strong and there is frequently one on special each day. The waitresses won't take drink orders if you're at a table. Getting water is even a challenge and a you will hear a complaint if you ask the server. Table service isn't quick but the food is good. As an out of town, often in town visitor I want to love it like I do my home lodge, but it's just not very welcoming. They have a nice sized outside area with a run down bocci court and frequent live music in the summer months. The building is modern and open with what looks like an area that could be used as a venue for events. A large parking lot is also available on site.

The bartender immediately apologized, was very polite, and replaced it with the correct wine. Mistakes happen, and we appreciated how friendly and apologetic she was. Unfortunately, what happened afterward completely changed our impression. While we were sitting at the bar enjoying our cocktails and dinner, the incorrect glass of wine sat on the bar top for about 30 minutes. We even joked that someone was going to knock it over because it had been sitting there so long. Later, we watched a waitress ask the bartender for a glass of that same wine for another customer. To our surprise, the bartender said that she had poured that glass by mistake and had planned to drink it herself, then told the waitress to take that same glass and serve it to the customer. We were honestly speechless. Regardless of whether the wine had been touched, it had been sitting uncovered on the bar for approximately 30 minutes before being served to a paying customer. Watching that happen made us very uncomfortable and raised serious concerns about food and beverage handling practices. We understand that mistakes happen--that wasn't the issue. It's how the situation was handled afterward that left us disappointed. We hope management takes this feedback seriously because this isn't the level of service or food safety that customers should expect.

I attended a wedding here and it was a gorgeous venue for this and the staff were professional, helpful and abundant throughout the event. The historic mansion has a few larger rooms that can be utilized. It will not house a large event, but smaller parties fit nicely. There is an added on event space to the one side and they will add tents. The back patio was a beautiful backdrop for a cocktail hour. There was a nice stone patio with walkway in the woods perfect for outdoor ceremonies. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. On the downside, parking is a hike and a hilly one at that. For accessibility, you can pull right up in the circular drive fro drop off if needed.
