Rating: 3.5 Stars I…read morewas invited by a member to come here on a Wednesday night. We started off downstairs for a drink. Service was wonderful and quick. Afterwards, we went to the second floor for dinner. The dining area was very grand. We were seated right away. Even though it was peak dining hours, the space was pretty empty. Service throughout the meal was exceptional. The wait staff was so attentive and friendly. The food on the other hand was not the best. It stated off strong with a bread basket. The bead was warm and tasty with delicious butter on the side to spread on it. For my meal, I ordered a French onion soup and lobster tail Cobb salad. The FRENCH ONION SOUP was unfortunately quite watery and bland. The LOBSTER TAIL COBB SALAD was ok. There were a good amount of toppings on the salad and the portion was huge. But the main star, the lobster tail, was ice cold, rubbery and also very bland. All in all, even though the space is beautiful and service is impeccable, the food is just ok - really wish there was a bit more flavor to the dishes.

There were two groups having super loud arguments in the main room area. I honestly felt bad for the bar staff having to tolerate it all. - Food... any Irish pub could have done better

This league doesn't hold a candle to NYC Social…read more NYC Social is fun and encourages collaboration amongst all of the teams. They have contests at the post-game bar meet ups for things like the most team spirit and social media love where you can win credits for future games or more importantly, a bar tab. They update their rain hotline instead of making you come to the field, only to cancel the game. They have a professional photographer that comes to the game to take action shots. Their refs are actually friendly. They hold games at a reasonable hour and not 10:00 at night. They don't allow bunting. Most importantly, their fields are not in the middle of crime ridden areas. ZogSports was fun because I got to play kickball with some great friends, but they run a really poor organization. It's a shame that this is one of the only adult sports leagues in Hoboken.

Probably not, unless you do one of the super-competitive leagues. I did cornhole, so umm, yeah, I still needed to hit the gym afterwards haha. But I had a ton of fun, and I made some great friends that I still talk to outside of the games. There are a variety of options. In the past, I've also done volleyball, but there's kickball, soccer, dodgeball, softball, and more. You want to play it? They probably have it. You can also choose your competitive level, so whether you're a top athlete, or have 0 hand-eye coordination, there is a league for you. There are leagues offered throughout the year, and you can choose based on days (ie: Sunday league, as opposed to a weekday league). If your work schedule isn't flexible, sometimes the times can conflict. It's also a little expensive (BUT part of your contribution goes to donating to the winning team's philanthropic organization). You also get discounted alcohol after the games. Overall, if you have the time and you enjoy being social, do it. I suggest joining with at least one friend in the beginning so you feel at ease, but if you rather go at it solo, you'll still have a blast!

I really enjoyed attending the AID For QUAID yearly fundraiser. It's very well planned with lots of food, a pig roast, beer and music. They ask for a one time donation of $20 and everything is included. There's a 50/50 and raffles to go along with it. The proceeds go to help a local young man who is paralyzed from the neck down. His name is Quaid Mobus. He is a very kind and humble young man and this was the 6 th year having this event. The members at the Elks do a great job of planning this event. This year instead of having multiple bands they were able to get my favorite band CC Coletti. CC Coletti was the backup singer for Meatloaf for many years and her lead guitarist Anthony Krizan was with the Spin Doctors Band. If you love Rock n Roll then you must see this band. They played the entire day and really made this event special. The Watchung/Warren Elks have Thanksgiving Parties, Christmas Parties, Valentine's Day Parties, St Patrick's Day Parties, Labor Day Parties and so on. They raise money for children's causes too. This is a great organization to get involved in and it's very community oriented. The Watchung/ Warren Elks can also be rented out for the day for private parties, there is a fee. You would have to contact the office for further details. I look forward to attending my next event.
