I got the turkey on stuffing with a wilted salad and a cup of tomato gouda soups! The salad and soup came out fast and were my highlights. The bacon vinaigrette makes the salad so good. The soup was a cheesy tomato bisque! It's good! Don't sleep on the specials!

My wife ordered the chicken tenders with French fries and fried apples. She appreciated the crispy coating and well-cooked fries, and found the fried apples tasty. Overall, she was satisfied with her meal. For my entrée, I chose the daily special: BBQ Back Ribs with coleslaw and fried apples. The ribs themselves were fall-off-the-bone tender, though it was clear they were boiled and baked rather than truly barbecued. They were covered in a very excessive amount of sweet BBQ sauce--so much so that it was hard to tell what meat I was eating beneath all that sauce. While the flavor of the sauce wasn't bad, it quickly became overwhelming, and I could only finish about three-quarters of the ribs. Covering meat in BBQ sauce does not make it real barbecue. The coleslaw had a strong mustard taste that wasn't to my liking, but the fried apples were a highlight. In summary, the meal had its good points, but the heavy-handed BBQ sauce and the coleslaw missed the mark for me. If I return, I'll likely skip the ribs and try something else.

The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

**April 2025: Weekday Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were in the area and wanted a quick lunch before we hit the road again. With the high reviews we thought we'd check out Swiftwater Cafe. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a large building complex (maybe apartments?), and there were many locals dinning in. The space looked very homey and the tables were lined with green and white checkered tablecloths. There's a big chalk board with breakfast and lunch items and my friend and I decided on the following: Lunch -Italian Grilled Cheese $8.06 - This was a fantastic vegetarian sandwich. There was a lot of flavor and it the texture of all the ingredients worked together. I would get this again. -Tomato Basil Soup $4.16 and Chili $4.16: Standard soups -Pepperoni Roll $4.16 - I was told that this was West Virginia's state food so naturally we had to try it out. It was tasty and I'm glad that this restaurant put in cheese, but I kind of wished there were a little bit more. -Chef Salad $9.88: This salad had a good assortment of ingredients and gave me the much needed vegetables that I had been lacking on this roadtrip. Service The host was very quick and polite. Patrons would pick up their orders at the counter when it's ready. Summary It was a nice local joint and I enjoyed all the outdoor photos around the cafeteria.
