Before the session even began, I completed a health questionnaire and we discussed my pain points and problem areas in detail. Once the massage started, it was clear she had a plan. She targeted muscles with surgical precision, incorporated heat therapy, and used techniques that blended deep tissue work with elements of Thai massage and yoga-style stretching. The office itself is right in the middle of busy King Street in Old Town. It's quiet, simple, and no-frills -- don't expect waterfalls and fancy spa décor. But honestly, none of that mattered once the massage began. The real luxury here is the skill level. Cindy works like a master craftsman of massage therapy.

While I only just had my first-ever massage with Valerie at Healing Touch (in Northwest DC), it is definitely not my last. And I've had a lot of back pain to boot (so bad it required surgery at one point). I walked out of Valerie's massage studio feeling like a very relaxed, flexible, happy rag doll. She is amazing. She has some different options for massages and I needed some deep tissue work. Never have I had just one massage from someone and felt this much better! Looking on Yelp, I saw that Absolute Massage Therapy was the closest one to me so I decided to give them a shot. When I arrived, I saw that the proprietor Rhonda shares an office with other healthcare providers so I sat in the common waiting room until it was time for my appointment. She was very patient with me as I explained both my immediate and long-term goals. I would not (yet) consider myself a massage connoisseur as I have only had a handful of experiences. Nonetheless, I would say that this was a blissful experience that had me going in and out of semi-consciousness. If you live in North Old Town, I would recommend seeing Rhonda for a convenient and pleasant experience. Compared to other Old Town providers, her rates are a great value for what she offers. As a fellow entrepreneur, I am happy to support her small business efforts.
