I chose Nicole based on her stylist description on the website. She's experienced and an artist in life more than just hair, so I felt she would be able to take control when I told her what I wanted. I'm open for a conversation to get to what's realistic based on upkeep, home styling, and my hair type. I rely on hair stylists expertise and many do not seem comfortable taking the reins on it, even though they should, IMO, since they are the professional. She delivered and then some. She is very knowledgeable. She explains things in a way that you can tell she just knows her stuff and she wants to make sure you understand where you two are going. She puts importance in giving you what you want, but also explaining how it will work based on how much time you want to spend on your hair and upkeep. Since this was our first meeting, I only did haircut (which is more important than color and requires an artful eye to shape, personality, etc), but we discussed color and she's on it. She knows her stuff and I feel super comfortable letting her work on me next time. I've had the privilege of having some really talented stylists coming from California. This salon has at least one talented lady here that I can speak of and they are very lucky to have her!

Normally, I keep my hair blond. My mom is sick w/ alzheimers, when I was born, I had auburn hair…read more She is a red head, when my hair fell out and grew back in, it was blond. I colored it red, I wanted mom to see me with red hair again (she was very sick and we thought she was about to pass). This was my first professional hair color/ color correction appointment in 6 yrs. The color correction went very well. I was so excited because after just one round of bleach Haliey was able to get me to nearly platinum. However, she didn't touch my roots, which were about 2" At the start of it all, I showed her two pictures, (either would have been ok), one a golden blond and the other a neutral blond. Because of constraints for Haliey, my color correction/ dye took two days, each about 2hrs long/ 2days in a row. After day 1, color correction, I was over the moon thrilled with the level of blond she was able to achieve in just one session. Then she put in a heavy conditioner that I left in over night until the following day. Day 2 we picked a blond, and a low light, brown color. I kept saying to her "more blond than brown", over and over. After she rinsed/washed my hair, I was horrified to see it was a dark brown, with a tiny bit of blond highlights. The day after I called the salon to let them know, this wasn't what I wanted. I was booked for a week later. Haliey and I talked about my hair, I told her this isn't what I wanted, nor was it anything like the pictures I had shown her.I wanted blond with a small amount of brown low lights. We began to argue. She said " I told you this was a process and it would take more than one appt". (BTW, she said root touch up and a trim every 4-6 weeks would be 160.00) I told her, my hair was more than half way there after the first day/color correction! I didn't want a full head of brown w a tiny bit of blond highlights. Then she said to me,multiple times, I was being rude/disrespectful, because I was standing up for what I wanted. I said no, I'm not cussing, or yelling, I am advocating for what I want. Finally it was agreed upon she would do a clarifiyin clarifying shampoo. It smelled like ammonia, the fumes burned my eyes. She applied it with a hair dye paint like brush and said that she didn't get it on my roots because she didn't give me hot roots, I think it was a bleach wash. Yes, it reduced the brown. And yes, I walked out with reddish hair, just like I walked into the salon. I paid over $300.00 not including tip. I am so disappointed. I could have achieved this color at home for $40.00.

ONLY BECAUSE I HAD TO GIVE A STAR RATING…read more I am new to the area and could not get in with my AZ hair stylist so I booked an appointment here. My hair was down to the middle of my back but in pretty rough shape and my last color was done in October with my AZ stylist so also pretty bad shape. But it is a Redken Salon, they have to go through so much training you would think they would grasp the concept of how to correctly do hair, so she should be able to handle it. I went in for my 2:00PM appointment. My biggest thing was I have a wedding coming up and want the grays covered to last at least four weeks, which was NOT an issue with any other stylist in my entire life. I wanted a platinum blonde and wasn't too worried about the hairstyle as long as I could do a ponytail because hair grows back eventually. What I got was absolutely terrible and I paid over $400, not including the product for another $100 plus, and left the shop after 8:30 PM. It did look okay that night because she worked her magic. BUT....She did not do blonde except at the ends; the roots where she used a dark brown glaze, natural color, which showed the grays the next morning. That was the only thing I stressed to this stylist, no grays. I wanted blonde but she felt the root color would help blend it better between appointments. Plus she used foils; the weight of these foils was extremely heavy! AND she ruined my shirt that I was wearing due to bleach getting on it and I have NEVER had this happen before. It has taken me two weeks to calm down enough to write this review as I HATE everything about my hair! I was planning to fight the credit card charge but instead I will chalk this up to an awful experience. I am so unhappy I barely leave the house and I still have to find someone that can do my hair properly prior to the upcoming wedding. Ugh! I hate being new in town. Please do not go here and waste your money. This glaze, if she even used one, that was placed on my hair was not to help her BUT it was most definitely to waste my money so she could get another $400 plus dollars from me next time and waste another six plus hours of my time and STILL not get it right. Just an FYI, my AZ stylist does not use foils and could get my hair done within 1.5 hours and it lasted six weeks, if I had to go that long but usually four weeks max, where grays just started to show. She also never had to remove more than two inches unless I felt like going shorter but I always had my ponytail. I do not have that here either!
