Great communication, great service. Came on time, professional crew, left the lot cleaner than when they came. Removed several trees.

Hancock Tree Service did an amazing job throughout the entire process. Matt arrived to provide an…read moreestimate at the time he said he would, was extremely knowledgeable, and professional, and provided thorough and informative responses to our concerns w/ specific trees on our newly acquired property. We scheduled the removal of 4 large trees that were too close to the house and dead/partially dead and the grinding of the stumps. The team arrived promptly the time I was told they would and after a brief chat w/ the crew chief/team leader (Ron), the team quickly got to work. They took great care in cutting down each tree to ensure no damage was down to the house. Throughout the process the communication and professionalism w/ Will and Johnny (via phone in their office), Matt (provided the estimate), and Ron and his entire crew was second to none. If you live in the Knoxville area and need any tree related work, you should not hesitate to contact Hancock Tree Service.

10 Stars! I will never use anyone else!…read more I had a very large tree limb fall on my house, but it was still attached to the tree about 25 feet up and was more than me and my friends could handle. I was stressed out about who to call because while it wasn't technically an emergency, I had exigent circumstances that necessitated it be removed within a couple of days. I did tons of research reading every review on Yelp, Google, Nextdoor, and even checked the Better Business Bureau before making a decision. Hancock Tree service had the best and most consistent reviews of all of the tree service companies in Knoxville, so I gave them a call. As soon as Will, the office manager, answered, his positive energy and helpful attitude instantly put me at ease, and I knew I was in good hands. Matt, a Certified Arborist, came out to give me an estimate that same day and he was able to work me into their schedule the next day. Matt was awesome! He did a great job assessing the situation and explaining my options. I never felt any pressure whatsoever, nor did I feel like he was trying to take advantage of the situation. The estimate was so reasonable that I ended up asking to have some additional limbs and other trees removed from the property while they were there. I really liked the fact that he mapped out the job with detailed explanations for each item that needed to be done so that the removal crew knew exactly what was expected of them and where it was located on the property. The technicians that were sent out arrived early, explained what they planned to do, and put on the appropriate safety gear before starting work using the bucket truck to get into position. Mike, Jonathon, and Derek were super nice and professional. They took care of everything per the plan and did a fabulous job of clean-up. Not only did they pick-up the large pieces but raked and used blowers to get up all the small bits as well, which was totally unexpected and much appreciated. After they were done I could not believe how much better the house itself looked without all of the other tree limbs shrouding it (and of course without the big one on my roof. Lol.) At one point during some tricky limb removal the bucket accidentally bumped into the gutter causing a small dent. Without even hesitating the technician took a picture with his phone and made a call to Matt. When he came down, he told me what happened and said Matt would be in touch and that it would be taken care of. What is important to note is that he didn't even know I had seen it happen, which shows the absolute integrity of this crew! Matt called me later to say that he had already scheduled another crew to come out to address the small dent and it was fixed 2 days later. I can't say enough good things about Hancock Tree Service and everyone on their exceptional team. So quit wasting time reading other reviews and give them a call now!

Another tree service confirmed these branches were already dead and should have been removed at the time of service. Robert, the owner, became extremely irate with me over the phone, and when he came to the property, he was so loud in my yard that I repeatedly asked him to lower his voice because he was making a scene in front of neighbors. He replied, "I don't care." My husband, who was on the phone, asked him to stop speaking to me that way, and he still refused. His behavior left me shaken and uncomfortable. The branches were not clearly visible to us due to leaves, but they should have been visible to the people in the bucket truck at the time of service. The interaction was completely unprofessional. I strongly suggest choosing a different tree service.

Dead branches are still falling, which defeats the entire purpose of the job. After noticing this, I had another tree company come out to take a look before contacting Tip Top again. They confirmed that these branches were already dead and should have been removed during the original job. When I called Robert, the owner, to address the issue, he came to my property and began raising his voice at me in front of neighbors. I was very polite in my request, but he repeatedly raised his voice, refused to calm down when I asked, and placed the blame on my husband and me instead of taking responsibility. My husband was on the phone at the time and also heard the way Robert was speaking to me. The work was incomplete, the customer service was extremely unprofessional, and the interaction was upsetting. I'm sure he will respond to this review and try to blame me, but the truth is simple: the job was not done properly, and his behavior was unacceptable. I strongly suggest choosing a different tree service.

Review of Gibson Land Services - My Experience…read more I hired Gibson Land Services on July 15th to cut down four trees, clean up, and demolish/haul off an old pole-style shed that had fallen over. I paid $7,000 in full up front. From the start, communication and follow-through were poor. We had agreed to coordinate with the electric company to move power lines so they could safely cut the trees. When the electric company arrived on July 17th at 7:30 AM, JD (the owner) seemed surprised, but eventually sent someone at 9:30 AM. They cut one tree and left, saying they'd be back the next day. On July 18th, after I checked in at 11:30 AM, I was told they were finishing another job and would come Monday instead. When they returned, they again had to have the electric company move lines. While cutting, they broke an above-ground water spigot and damaged a post on another shed that didn't belong to me--they never informed us, never offered to fix it, and simply left the broken post for us to deal with. By July 23rd, the cut trees and the collapsed shed still weren't cleaned up. I contacted JD and told him cleanup was urgent because I had contractors scheduled for septic and excavation work. He sent a crew later that afternoon, but all they did was push the debris aside--still leaving a mess. JD also tried to upsell me on tearing down another shed, which I declined. They did eventually haul off the cut trees, but never cleaned up the collapsed shed as agreed. From July 28th to August 8th, I repeatedly asked when they would finish. Each time, JD gave excuses ("too hot," "busy with other jobs," "on the way," "two flat tires") but his crew never showed. On August 6th, my other contractors had to move the pile of debris three separate times to do their work. I asked again on August 7th for immediate cleanup--still nothing. On August 8th, I asked for either the work to be finished or a $1,000 refund. No response. On August 9th, I gave a final deadline of August 12th at 3 PM before pursuing legal action. Again--no response. In short: Paid $7,000 in full before work was completed. Poor scheduling and repeated delays. Damage to property not disclosed or repaired. Shed cleanup never completed despite repeated promises. Multiple no-shows and ignored messages. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Gibson Land Services. I hope sharing this helps others avoid similar frustration.
