Thos company is pretty awesome. We had a tree that had some broken limbs and needed trimming. They were so quick and did an excellent job.

Hancock Tree Service did an amazing job throughout the entire process. Matt arrived to provide an estimate at the time he said he would, was extremely knowledgeable, and professional, and provided thorough and informative responses to our concerns w/ specific trees on our newly acquired property. We scheduled the removal of 4 large trees that were too close to the house and dead/partially dead and the grinding of the stumps. The team arrived promptly the time I was told they would and after a brief chat w/ the crew chief/team leader (Ron), the team quickly got to work. They took great care in cutting down each tree to ensure no damage was down to the house. 10 Stars! I will never use anyone else! I had a very large tree limb fall on my house, but it was still attached to the tree about 25 feet up and was more than me and my friends could handle. I was stressed out about who to call because while it wasn't technically an emergency, I had exigent circumstances that necessitated it be removed within a couple of days. I did tons of research reading every review on Yelp, Google, Nextdoor, and even checked the Better Business Bureau before making a decision. Hancock Tree service had the best and most consistent reviews of all of the tree service companies in Knoxville, so I gave them a call. As soon as Will, the office manager, answered, his positive energy and helpful attitude instantly put me at ease, and I knew I was in good hands. Matt, a Certified Arborist, came out to give me an estimate that same day and he was able to work me into their schedule the next day. Matt was awesome! He did a great job assessing the situation and explaining my options. I never felt any pressure whatsoever, nor did I feel like he was trying to take advantage of the situation. The estimate was so reasonable that I ended up asking to have some additional limbs and other trees removed from the property while they were there. I really liked the fact that he mapped out the job with detailed explanations for each item that needed to be done so that the removal crew knew exactly what was expected of them and where it was located on the property. The technicians that were sent out arrived early, explained what they planned to do, and put on the appropriate safety gear before starting work using the bucket truck to get into position. Mike, Jonathon, and Derek were super nice and professional. They took care of everything per the plan and did a fabulous job of clean-up. Not only did they pick-up the large pieces but raked and used blowers to get up all the small bits as well, which was totally unexpected and much appreciated. After they were done I could not believe how much better the house itself looked without all of the other tree limbs shrouding it (and of course without the big one on my roof. Lol.) At one point during some tricky limb removal the bucket accidentally bumped into the gutter causing a small dent. Without even hesitating the technician took a picture with his phone and made a call to Matt. When he came down, he told me what happened and said Matt would be in touch and that it would be taken care of. What is important to note is that he didn't even know I had seen it happen, which shows the absolute integrity of this crew! Matt called me later to say that he had already scheduled another crew to come out to address the small dent and it was fixed 2 days later. We had a stray cat get stuck at the top of a very tall tree next to our house. It was there for several days & we could not get it to come down. We called animal control, spoke with someone at the fire department, called several other tree service companies. Unfortunately, we could not find anyone to help with the situation. We came across Hancock Tree Service while googling options. They answered the phone immediately and put us in contact with one of their guys. Thankfully, they were able to come out and get the cat out of the tree. No idea where the cat belongs...but, certainly he doesn't belong at the top of our tree. These guys are fantastic!!! I had a huge 75 foot Hackberry tree that I noticed had developed a huge deep dangerous crack about 20 foot up after this December's deep fast freeze. The tree was splitting and was In the process of catastrophic failure. I immediately contacted Hancock Tree Service and in less than a week they were able to respond and severely top the tree. Timeline: Hancock Tree Service showed up promptly at 8am with appropriate equipment and manpower. The tree, that was right next to our house with limbs extending over the roof, was approximately 33" diameter and 50-60' tall. Also, this tree had a treehouse style deck built around it. They had half the tree down by 9:40 and the rest of the tree and debris, all cleaned up and off the property by 10:30. No damage to the house or treehouse. We were amazed. Thank you for coming to finish the work that another tree company left unfinished for two months! The guys came earlier than scheduled (I booked their services Friday, they told me it would be the following Thursday; and it's Monday), were extremely courteous and friendly, did quick, great work, and cleaned up everything! Our tree was old and gigantic, and they made short work of it! They accidentally ran over our water meter, but the owner called KUB and they came out almost immediately to fix the leak! Hancock Tree Service blocked a one way in, one way out street this morning in North Knoxville preventing a number of people from leaving for work, including a school teacher. When told that they were blocking access for a number of citizens, the crew leader/foreman just like "huh, well I guess it's blocked", then proceeded to go back to work. I called the office, no one answered, and then a worker walked by, whom I tried to question about timeline, and he flat out ignored me. Finally, after waiting 20 minutes, the foreman returned and directed me to drive through someone's yard, but I tore up their grass in the process. I hope that Hancock Tree Service repairs the damage. Also, if you are a business and it is necessary to block an entire street at a high volume time (8:30 am - 9:00 am), then it is protocol that you notify the people whom you will be affecting. A door hanger would suffice. Other companies do this, but not Hancock Tree Service. Furthermore, their employees are dismissive, rude, entirely unprofessional, and lazy to not move their boom truck when they are blocking traffic. I hate to think of how they must treat their customers if this is how they treat people whom they inconvenience. Try Cortese, Wolf, or Mencer, I guarantee you'll get friendlier people that care about the community. read more
