Y'all... what even was that?…read more We came in at noon on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend for a simple TB blood draw. The visit actually started off fine we saw the MA, saw the doctor, and were told they were putting us in and to wait to be called back for labs. After watching three patients go ahead of us and waiting about 40 minutes, we decided to double check our check in. Turns out we weren't even in the system correctly and had somehow been labeled as a completely different patient. Then two MAs then pulled us from the waiting room and took us back to an exam room. One of them rushed in saying, "I'll just draw you myself! you came in for a TB test, right? Okay, I'll be right back!" She never came back... Instead, we sat there even longer while overhearing them in the back office saying things like, "I have no clue where my doctor is." At that point, my husband went to the front desk because we had already been there nearly two hours for what should've been a simple lab draw. That's when we were finally told: "Oh yeah... so your labs need to be sent off, and we already did our last pickup before lunch, so we can't do them till Tuesday." So after almost two hours of waiting, confusion, and being mislabeled in the system, we left without even getting the test done. Both my husband and I are in the medical field, and I understand that healthcare gets busy and things happen. But the lack of communication and organization here was honestly unbelievable, especially in such a small office. A situation like this could've been communicated to us much earlier and saved everyone a lot of wasted time.

I had an appointment last week and informed the provider that this is a problem I've had a lot and told her what usually fixed it and what I needed. She shorted me on medicine so I ran out before I was well. I called and got the big runaround. The net result is that I suffered a day or two more than necessary. The medical assistant is really a problem. I called for a refill, got a medical assistant who wasn't on-site but forwarded the message to the Mescal medical assistant. She replied with this completely unresponsive message: "I wanted to inform you that we have received a mychart message that you are requesting a refill on cephalexin (KEFLEX) 500 mg capsule. Is there any reason that you are requesting a refill for this medication?" (I HAD EXPLAINED IN DETAIL WHY IN MY REQUEST. NOT LISTENING!) "Please It us know if there is anything else we can do for you." (THIS IS JUST AN INSULT. THEY KNOW PERFECTLY WELL WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT THEY COULD DO FOR ME. WHAT A HORRIBLE THING TO SAY TO A PATIENT WHO HAS BEEN BEGGING FOR A REFILL.) That seems to be the philosophy here, based on my own experience. They give you the very bare minimum and I'm not talking about narcotics but antibiotics that cannot be abused. You can see how horrible this place is by this Yelp page. At least two of the doctors pictured haven't been there in years and the providers who are there aren't pictured. Probably no one takes care of this page; that would be what I would expect.

I'm a generally healthy person with no complaints who is on a couple long-term maintenance medications for stable conditions. Not only did they require multiple appointments for simple prescription refills, but they then coded these visits as high-complexity - despite the fact that I didn't request them, I had no complaints, and all I needed was a prescription refill (for frame of reference, my previous provider wrote 12-month prescriptions for the same meds). I was billed $176 for each of the virtual prescription refill appointments. My final appointment there before I called it quits was a 15-minute virtual appointment (again, that the provider requested, not me) where ALL I NEEDED was a refill. The provider herself actually coded it correctly, and the billing team overrode the provider and change the appointment to the high-complexity code. I have worked in medical billing, and these appointments do not meet the requirements of a high-complexity code. They will bill EVERYTHING as high-complexity. So if you're someone with a high-deducible plan, this is NOT the practice for you. (Sidenote - they also admitted to me that their self-pay prices are actually LOWER than my contracted rate with insurance, but they would not give me the self-pay price). I went back and forth with their billing team, telling them I'd be happy to pay the bill when it was the correct amount. They stopped responding to me in February 2025. Today I got a letter from collections. I'm petty so I'll be fighting this until the bitter end and making sure that by the time this is over, they'll have spent more than $176 on collections and paying their billing team to argue with me, but I recommend saving yourself the hassle and just avoiding this practice altogether. (Also I can't wait for the part where I get their auto response to this review telling me how concerned they are and to reach out to discuss. I've already done that multiple times and no one there cares to remedy this situation!)
