I wish I would have taken a before photo. His teeth were CAKED with plaque. .

This is an updated review. It's taken me a few months to be able to write this, but I feel that people with similar conditions must know the dangers. My sweet baby Ezekiel Grey died within 10 days of his tooth cleaning because the bacteria released during the procedure entered his bloodstream and ravaged his immunocompromised kidneys. I told Becky and made sure his paperwork indicated he had stage 3 renal disease and that he had pus in his mouth. I had no idea that having pus in his mouth and stage 3 meant either he would need antibiotics or no cleaning at all. The fact is, Becky should have denied him a cleaning if she could not prescribe medicine. I've done a ton of research since Zeke passed and it's clear that he needed antibiotics. I found a mobile dentist called Qualified Pet Dental that clearly state on their website that they will not do procedures if pus is present and they also offer antibiotics for dogs that need them. That's because they have a veterinarian on site. Becky consults a vet and that's what she did when I reported Zeke's death to her. But there's no vet on site. My own vet failed me when I told her about the planned cleaning. She later said she thought I was taking Zeke to see a licensed vet. Becky failed me, and when I tried to get her to revise her policies to make sure this never happens again, she kindly told me Zeke must have been declining before the procedure. But he wasn't. We were taking five walks a day. He was jumping off my bed, running up and down the stairs, happy as can be. And within 10 DAYS, he was gone. The procedure was on 7/18/22 and he was gone on 7/28/2022. We took him for 4 days of IV fluids, but they just couldn't reverse the numbers. I'm attaching photos from Qualified Pet Dental and I highly recommend anyone with a dog with chronic renal disease to check them out and to avoid Elite Pet Dental at all costs if your fur baby has CRD. I relied on the experts in my life to warn me of the dangers of bacteria. I relied on them to know what I didn't. So I'm updating this review so none of you lose your best friend for the same reasons. RIP my sweet boy. https://qualifiedpetdental.com/about/

Becky and Dr Paul have been great with our 2 small skittish pups We're on an every 6 month rotation and it seems to be helping with their bad breath and gingivitis She definitely has a way with them My girls were so excited to have their teeth cleaned that they passed out afterwards Thanks so much!

My 13 1/2 year old medically compromised dog received a dental cleaning from elite pet dental today. Due to her health condition she cannot be sedated and I was concerned about her oral health. My expectations were not very high as I did not think my dog would allow her teeth to be cleaned without sedation. Boy was I wrong... Her teeth which had gross calculus and plaque were sparkling clean within 30 minutes. I know that no one could have done a better job even with sedation. The process was seamless and my dog did very well throughout the whole process. I could not recommend this dental team more. Five plus stars for an excellent job and fantastic management of my dog.

    After the cleaning:

Elite Pet Dental helped remove the build up and plaque from my pups teeth! She is usually hesitant about meeting new people but Becky and the team took the time to put her at ease and gave her plenty of belly rubs. So grateful I found them! Definitely will be back to keep my dog's teeth fresh and clean.

Joey ready to have his teeth cleaned!

As noted in my…read moreoriginal review, my pup got spayed back in March of this year, and the whole process was as smooth as it possibly could have been (besides me being a nervous wreck the whole time because what dog mom isn't when their fur baby is undergoing surgery?!) The staff was super reassuring, answered every question to every last detail, Dr. Lee made sure to come and speak with me directly to also provide that added reassurance as well. They were very thorough with the discharge as well, I got a phone call from Dr. Lee the moment her spay was completed to let me know everything went well, and he informed me that I could pick her up in a few additional hours as to ensure they could monitor her post spay before discharge. When i went to pick her up, she was understandably zoned out but, you could also tell she was well looked after and she felt safe being with the staff (this is what really made the experience so comforting for me) I was provided discharge papers with instructions, and medication for her to take over the next couple of days. Her incisions were done so neatly, and the stitches were so impressively done! It took about a week for her to be back to her sassy self, and by the end of week 2, her stitches were barely visible!! Dr. Lee uses dissolving stitches so there was no need to go back to have them removed. This was also a huge plus for me as other vets I had shopped around at, did inform me that I would need to come in for stitches to be removed and for a follow up exam. Dr. Lee made it simple and simply asked that I provide detailed photos via email, and that if he felt there was need for a follow up he would determine it at that time. Needless to say, no follow up was needed! It's now been 4 months post spay and my pup doesn't even have a scar! CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had to share, I emailed Dr. Lee's office about an hour ago asking about some general vaccine questions. I didn't expect any answer today as it's past 5 PM on a Sunday, and their office is closed on Sundays anyhow. To my surprise, someone replied to me within minutes, and continued to reply back and forth within the email thread for nearly 20 minutes to answer all my questions!! I know lots of places out there advertise "24 hour support" etc. yet fall short. Lee animal hospital doesn't advertise that but, their customer service simply speaks for itself. This wasn't an email around a paid service or appointment, it was a genuine generic question that I could have easily searched online for an answer but, opted to ask the team for peace of mind. Really shows what a great staff they have and how they truly care about their clients! If you're looking for a new vet, a secondary vet, or just a better vet, i highly recommend Lee animal hospital. Even if you're not local to Orange, if you're in the surrounding cities, it's well worth the short commute and it's conveniently located right off the freeway which is a bonus!

Chelsea recently passed away at 17, almost 18. She had such a long, happy life because of the care she received here. Chelsea was my baby, and I know how hard it can be to find a good vet. Pets can't talk, but you can see when they are genuinely cared for--and Chelsea got the best care at OC Veterinary. From the receptionists to the doctors, she was loved by everyone, and I am so grateful for that. Chelsea saw both Dr. Horn and, mostly, Dr. Nikki--both are exceptional veterinarians. We saw Dr. Nikki the most, and we had a very special connection with her. After Chelsea passed, Dr. Nikki even reached out to check on us, which was incredibly kind. She is practical, compassionate, and everything you could want in a vet. Chelsea also saw the groomer, Heather, who was very gentle and careful with her. Chelsea had back issues and was an older little lady, so it was comforting to know she was in safe hands. Sandra and Steve also made a big impact on Chelsea's life, especially Steve. They cared for her like she was their own family. Steve even called to check on us after Chelsea passed, which meant so much. I'm sorry this review comes so late, but I feel Chelsea would have wanted me to write it, and I want to honor her memory. No one enjoys visiting the doctor, but I am so grateful that we found such a wonderful facility to care for Chelsea. I loved her with all my heart, and after our family, OC Veterinary loved her most.

Their office is lovely, with unique decor and warmth. However I felt terrible for my dog, because although my appointment was at 10 am, she had to wait 3 hours in a crate until her procedure. We already had her bloodwork done a week before, so I didn't know she would have to wait until past 1 pm. Yeah, I get it -- sometimes there are other urgent clients, so a routine procedure like this can get pushed back. And I understand for most dogs, waiting in a crate for a few hours is no issue. But it is for mine. She does not do well in crates due to severe separation anxiety and excessive barking issues - (Yes, I have tried to train her.) The poor thing must've peed on herself, because she reeked of urine when I picked her up. Overall, I did appreciate how everyone I interacted with here seemed nice, but the experience was not what I was expecting.

Again, I had never received a call from them in the morning - just the automated text for confirmation. I asked what their next soonest availability was and they said the next two weeks were booked and we would have to go somewhere else. I also would like to add that we did call other vets to see what the other options for treatment would be, and one of the vet hospitals we reached out to had requested medical records from Nohl. This was another factor to my dog's surgery being cancelled, because the receptionist desk assumed that we would be going somewhere else for surgery instead of contacting me for confirmation. This was truly a disappointing experience as we had nothing but good things to say prior to this incident. The communication was incredible up until the day before surgery. Now, I have to find another vet, pay another exam fee, and possible prolong the condition my dog is in.
