This is by far one of the best barbers I have visited! If you happen to be in the Tempe area and you need a high-quality/high-end cut (but at a reasonable price), then I highly recommend ELITE! My barber took the time and did not rush my cut. Basically it was like a 'spa' for my hair. Since my visits have been in the summer, I have been lucky enough to just walk-in. I worked here recently and I wish I could give zero stars. The owner (Daniel) is very hard to work with, ALL BARBERS STAY AWAY. As for the clients, I hope you're comfortable waiting 30-40 mins before you get a haircut, a mediocre haircut. Will walk out on his appointments for 20 mins without saying anything, I have seen him argue with another barber WITH CLIENTS IN CHAIR. Don't waste your time. Cuts are decent but barbers rarely show up when they are posted to open, cuts are expensive and appointments are even more, poor time management, no respect for your time. Last few times I tried to go in they weren't even open and when they are there is usually only one person cutting hair who's got "appointments" all afternoon. I won't be returning. read more

Got a haircut here cause other place i was going to only took cash and i was walking to find somewhere to get cash when i crossed this place. Overall experience was not too bad, decent haircut, but as i was getting my cut the whole time i couldnt see what was being done cause i was turned away from the mirror but just trusted the process. At the end most barbers ive been too will ask if its good or if they can fix anything else but all the stuff was already taken off and the cut wasnt really bad too the point the i was gunna have him put everything back on to trim a lil more off the top. Then i was hit with a 40$ without tip. which at almost every barber ive been to i havent paid more than 30$ including tip. The haircut was good but nowhere near 40$ good. read more

I work across the street from Elite. They have late hours that begin at noon, despite being in the heart of the municipal campus and ASU. Every body isn't a college student. I sat on 5th street, in my car and called the business phone ( I was at the light waiting to turn). There were 3 people in the shop but none of them answered. I left a message on Thursday, it's Wednesday (the following week) and no one has called back. I'm ok with it because there are plenty of barbershops in the area. I have a barber but a backup would be great because I can go on lunch. Anyway, I stopped in today because I was walking by. The doors where open and the young lady who works there said she doesn't have access to the business phone. They don't have a land line. I'd like to be able to make an appointment. Overrated, unprofessional, never on time, never stick to their word, just a bad experience every time. I only came back because the edge up is so sharp but it's definitely not worth waiting hours or arguing with a grown man about being on time. I've tried about 10 barbers out in the Tempe area and Fred at Elite is by far the best barber I've had in the past two years. He's really knows what he's doing and is very patient to make sure he does a good job. I generally ask for a gentleman's cut and a beard line/trip. I got a cut from Isaac once too and he did a good job also. This place seems to have a lot of returning customers. The shop atmosphere is very comfortable too. They always have good music playing and and an entertaining movie playing on the TV they mounted on the wall. read more

Super unprofessional for how much they brag about there skills. Made an APPOINTMENT two days prior, 15 mins before the APPOINTMENT it got pushed back 30 minutes which wasn't okay bc I had things I needed to do. So I proceeded to go there at the time it was pushed back to and the dude was still cutting someone's hair and still had someone's hair to cut before me. I also drove in traffic to get there and had to drive back through traffic without my hair cut. DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE. Worst place ever. They can't run a business. read more

I can't recommend this place. I have been here several times and it's too inconsistent. The past few times I have arrived 10 minutes past 12, which is the time they open, to the doors still locked. I live over 40 minutes away and find it disrespectful that they are not considerate of their customers' time. These guys really take their time and are worth it. I have been two times, and I'd never go anywhere else. Every single time I go in and get a fresh cut, I get comments on the new style without fail. NEVER COMING BACK! Do not come here! Came in and the barber who ended up cutting my hair was asleep in his chair, he didn't even wake up when I walked in. While getting my haircut the barber seemed more interested in getting beer than cutting my hair. One of the barbers left the store to go buy beer for the barbers. The barber ended up washing my hair which I did not ask for or want and it ended up costing me $30 for a half ass hair cut. If you want a half ass hair cut for top dollar this is the place for you! Very impressed. Angel cut my hair, and I can say that he is a very competent barber. The barbers here definitely take pride in their work, and are concerned with giving the client a great experience. It is a little bit more expensive than a typical barber shop, but the price is well worth it. It can be difficult to find a quality barber shop that is also masculine.
