Worked with one of the owners Dan Dettloff what a mean guy this is. Comes to my place of business and is disrespectful arrogant and just a short tempered person. Gave me the impression of someone who thinks they are better than everyone else and is just overall someone I would not want to deal with. I would 100% not recommend someone to use this company based off the impression I had with the owner I can't imagine what he does behind closed doors if he behaves likes a misbehaved spoiled child. Take your business else where. I as well just want to state don't take what they reply to this comment if they decide to do as justification he left me a terrible review at my place of employment and I did everything he asked to a T. We used Elite for photo, video, dj and photobooth. This will likely be long because of that but overall we would totally recommend using Elite. Our photographer Jeff showed up early which was great and immediately got to work setting things up. He was personable, instructional in staging photos, efficient and I truly cannot wait to see the shots he captured. Our videographer was not who we originally were assigned but Emory showed up and again was personable, helped walk us through some great moments to capture and was so passionate about video that he was hyping us up all day. The few clips he showed a couple of the bridesmaids made them so excited for us to see. Evan was our dj and played each song as we planned. The music was up beat and fun and when there was a song I wasn't super fond of we made eye contact and he mixed into something else. The photobooth was fun and the attendant was so kind. We also did uplighting and cold sparks. The pictures people took of us and sent show people with shocked excited faces when those went off, which was just a fun addition. Elite entertainment is unprofessional and they do not provide the services you pay for. The photos we got back were too embarrassing to share with our friends and family. No one wants to see bad pictures of themselves! After voicing your concerns with the poor services, they post your photos publicly to defend themselves. They are a scam for sure. Do not do business with them and do not give them your time or money because they waste it all in an effort to save their image. read more

My friend and her fiancé hired Elite for their wedding over the weekend to provide services for their DJ/MC, videographer and photo booth. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding and thought that they did an excellent job. Most importantly, the bride was happy. The DJ coordinated with the couple ahead of time to determine the plan for the reception. The Bride had a detailed play list that she wanted provided and a plan for the night, all of which they honored. The bride appreciated that the videographer called ahead of time on the wedding day to let her know that she was prepared and on her way. While the footage from the video has not yet viewed, the videographer was involved and friendly without being in the way. The DJ/MC and his assistant were both fun and professional (not to mentioned actually pronounced my name correctly which is a rare feat). They were able to get the guests involved and onto the dance floor. They also kept things from getting too cheesy as often happens at weddings. I thought they ended the wedding well (even though many of us were not yet ready to go) with everyone left at the wedding on the dance floor. Excellent job Elite! read more

We had Elite Entertainment for two services consisting of the music and the photo booth at our wedding reception recently. The photo booth, which I believe was done by Kim who was very professional and friendly during our wedding reception being that it was the first time we saw her. Our guest had a blast with the photo booth with the fun signs and goofy glasses, along with other items. We had a lot of positive feedback all through the night about the booth and even did it ourselves and had a lot of fun with it as we saw people did it multiple times. They gave us a nice booklet afterwards of all the photos that our guests could write messages on for luck and also within a day we got an email from her sending the photos to be download and if there were any concerns to let her know. We didn't have any issues during the time of reception and got a kick out of the photos that will forever be a positive joy to share among gatherings and to look back at. For the music we had a DJ named Evan who was very energic as we had a good start with him and at first didn't think we would have issues. He had made all the announcements we had requested and was very positive. But he did not play the right song for the Bride and Groom dance, which will forever be in my memory about our wedding reception in how we had the wrong song playing and had to stop the music to point that out to him in front of our entire guests. We had gone over the music during that week leading up to the reception, because it was hard to get ahold of him and now, we wished that we could have done it in person or specifically made sure he had the right song as he was very reassuring that he did. We had requested the cupid shuffle and that didn't get played until the very end when most guests were leaving. We requested for the songs to be a mixture of upbeat music when meeting with him in person weeks before hand and he said that it wouldn't be a problem. However, we got very little of modern-day music and got songs our parents listen to, which you would have thought it was a retirement party and not a wedding party. All and all I would advise anyone to think twice about having him as a DJ for a wedding reception. This would-be a higher score if it wasn't for the music considering that comes with a lasting memory and therefore, I would highly recommend the photo booth for a fun time but would caution those looking for music services. read more

My experience with Elite goes back to 2006. I realize it's been a while and maybe the business practices of "Metro Detroit's Premier Photography, Disc Jockey & Videography Service" have changed. My wife-to-be (at the time) and I met with George Munger (the owner) to discuss DJ services for our wedding. I was impressed with the sales pitch. I also liked George's personality and high level of professionalism. Needless to say, I was excited for our event. When I arrived at the hall, I was told that George skipped out on our event and sent a replacement. Dan "Superman" Cylkowski was the replacement DJ and was OK. He wasn't terrible, but he wasn't the greatest. Definitely not the experience that I was excited about at the time. I was ok with the replacement DJ and the excuse that George gave at the last minute (he said he had another event he had to help out with or something). The wedding was fine...not awesome, but fine. I have since been to several other weddings that had George as the DJ. These weddings have been extremely awesome. I've heard nothing but great things about George and would recommend him...except that he may ditch you for something else and then send a replacement (and still charge the full amount). read more

We hired Elite Entertainment for our daughter's wedding. I thought that they were rather high-priced, but, wanting only the best for our daughter, we hired them. We bought their dj, photography and photo booth services. I thought that this was probably a case of "you get what you pay for". They were professional and timely. The dj and photo booth services were fine. I was disappointed in the photography services. I felt that there was nothing special that stood out or that was unique, which for the money spent, I did expect. They offer a beautiful photo book and I give a lot of credit to the person who designed the photo layout in the book. This person did an incredible job with what she was given to work with. In my opinion, you could do better for the money spent. read more

Father of the bride called the DJ a jackass, and he was right. DJ screwed up the mics at the ceremony, then screwed the mics up again at toasts. Completely unprepared and never had a Plan B, like a mic with a cord or a second mic. Completely unprofessional and unprepared. They owe bride and groom a complete refund. DO NOT BOOK!!!! read more

Our experience with Elite Entertainment for our wedding in 2019 was an all-around fantastic experience. We booked them for a comprehensive package and did our photography, videography, and wedding DJ through them all together, which was a great decision. Our DJ Ron was one of the best parts of our wedding and was able to adapt to unexpected events at the wedding without any hiccups. He kept our guests dancing and our wedding party engaged and energetic, and was a real professional. Our wedding photographs and video were both great, and the wedding album we worked with them to create is absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments (even from my cousin who DJs at some popular spots around Detroit), and the dance floor was busy all night. We seriously cannot give a more positive review for Elite Entertainment. We used their photography and DJ services. Krista Smith was our photographer. From the very first time we spoke with Krista, we knew we were in good hands. She had tons of ideas and we cannot wait to see our pictures. It was very apparent that she is a passionate photographer and truly enjoys that she does. Krista went above and beyond to make everyone comfortable and to get us the best possible photographs to remember our day. Ron Miller was our DJ. He did so much more than just play amazing music that kept our dance floor packed all evening. Plusses: great photobooth package, effects, and videographer who went out of their way to get everything right. Big negative: We met with the DJ, AJ, weeks before (I had selected him because he was bilingual and my husband's family members speak little English). I gave him a list of songs and artists that were my favorites. I spent hours making these selections to please different types of people at the wedding. We had an eclectic mix! I even included dancing the hora to pay homage to my Jewish father and his family. I told him I loved Beyonce and wanted to hear multiple songs by her. I also had asked my mother in law for her favorite Spanish artists and songs. The day of the event, the only Beyonce song was during the bouquet toss. Almost none of the songs I requested played. A few of my requests were played late in the evening after most of the people they were for had left. I danced very little at my own wedding because there wasn't the type of music I enjoyed or requested. He almost had the wrong version of my first dance and I had to forward it to him 20 minutes before the reception. Couples were supposed to be invited on the floor during our dance, which never happened. And there was no announcement of my video montage so most people were oblivious to it being on. It was a great day, with a big low point ---the DJ. Every time I hear a song that should have been played, I am reminded of what I missed out on, and I will never get a redo on that night. Adding with a positive: I will commend the rest of the Elite team, however. The owner gave me a heartfelt apology and partial refund, even though the DJ was part of a larger package. Additionally, any time I have requested additional copies or pictures of the evening, they have really gone above and beyond to make it happen. read more

The DJs are so rude and I'm at a wedding right now and they are so disrespectful! They don't care about anything besides themself. I don't recommend this to anyone not even my enemy. This was the worst DJ I've ever had and as a guest I want to have fun and enjoy my time and have fun with the bride but this was the worst event ever because of Elite. These guys are awesome!!!! Extremely professional and courteous!!! Rob our DJ was right on top of things! Did exactly what we asked, kept the party going all night. If no one was on the dance floor he changed it up and got everyone out there! Scott our photographer was punctual, professional, and just excellent!!! Our pictures were perfect! He captured every moment with ease and style!!! And we got our proofs back in just one week!!! We had hundreds of pictures to chose from and they were all great!! Our album was a huge plus!! My wife and I recently had Elite DJ our wedding and we agreed that Rob Yeo put on an amazing and entertaining night for us. Rob met with us a couple weeks before our big day to go over our choice in music, the names of our party and guest list, special dances we wanted to have and he executed the night perfectly. Pricey for sure. We bundled the services so that is supposed to be cheaper, but for the money we paid I was very unimpressed with the photographer. I won't name names but it was a female. Her attention to detail was not great, all the bridesmaids in the picture but an umbrella or coat near them got in a couple of the pictures....umm...did she not see that? Other people looking at the pictures commented that the family photo's were off centered and they were! Very unimpressed, yet she came recommended. The DJ played a song that was on my daughter's list not to play but he played it and halfway through the song he stopped it! Oops! The photo booth attendant was good, no complaints there. Havn't seen the DVD yet, hoping there are no issues with that either. Shop around people. read more
