My review of Elite Edge 6 weeks ago I thought I did something stupid: I signed up for a 6 week challenge and basically giving Elite Edge 400 dollars on the promise that if I didn't lose 20 pounds they would be able to keep my "deposit". Today was my last day at Elite Edge and I'm proud to say I ended up losing 20 pounds!!! I can't tell you how happy I am that I reached this goal. Mostly because I get my money back but also it's the feeling of accomplishing something that I didn't think was possible. I had many people say that I basically just threw my money away and I feared they were correct. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to quit and just give up. One of the weeks (week 4 if I remember correctly), I didn't lose any weight and nearly just said "fuck it' and almost started eating whatever I wanted. Thankfully I didn't do that because if I did, there's no way I would have lost 20 lbs. Many people have asked me if doing the six week challenge or joining Elite Edge is worth it. I thought I would list some pros and cons and then give you my opinion. So, here it goes: PROS Adam and Kyle: During my 6 weeks, these were the trainers I had and I can't tell you how helpful they were. Both of them are encouraging, kind and most importantly patient with people. Since I'm severely hard of hearing, I could only hear about 40% of the instructions at the beginning of the workout. They would always take the time to show me AND make sure I was doing them correctly. Workouts: At first I didn't know if I would like the workouts because they were timed workouts (which means you had a certain time to finish whatever you were doing and move onto the next one). After about 2 days I really became a believer in this system. This really does make the workouts go very fast. Times: For me, this is a Pro. They held a class at 4pm which was perfect since I got off at 3:30pm. My workout was done by 5pm and I had the rest of my evening free. Saturday workouts were at 8 and 9am and which in my opnion is not to late or to early. CONS Price: This is not a cheap program by any means. If you do the challenge you are dropping down 400 dollars but if you join it's 138 dollars a month. Any other place around Ankeny charges probably 50% less. In fact, that's the "discounted" price. The normal price is 168 dollars. You have to really make use of the place and go often to get your money's worth. Times: Yes, this is also a Con too. Why? Well, first of all they are very limited on the weekends in terms of workouts: Only two classes. Sometimes they shut down the place on the weekend (happened once during my 6 weeks there). Some people may not like that they are only open from 4am to 7am and 4pm to 7pm most days during the week. This may be limiting to some people that want to work out say at 9am say at 3pm. For me though it wasn't an issue but I wanted to make people aware of it. Facebook: One thing about the challenge is that they make you sign up for Facebook and "check in" every single time you worked out. They say it's for accountability but you also have to sign in when you are at the gym. For people who are on Facebook constantly it's probably not a big deal but for me, I'm not a big Facebook person so this was a hassle. It also seems like a marketing tool more than an accountability tool. Especially when you have to change your profile picture to an Elite Edge logo for the duration of the 6 week challenge. Pressure: When I was in the orientation, it seemed like the manager pressured me to join this time by saying there won't be another six week challenge until the holidays. Come to find out there was a new one starting the next month. Since I really wanted to wait a month to start the challenge I felt slighted. In Conclusion: Is Elite Edge worth signing up for? In my opinion, if you have to lose more than 30 pounds, Elite Edge is definitely worth it. If you follow the diet you WILL LOSE WEIGHT and you can roll your money over to another challenge until you don't meet the program requirements (from what I understand...this could change anytime though) However, if you are looking to maintain your weight or you have less than 25 pounds to loose there are cheaper options out there. If the price was 70 dollars a month, I would encourage everyone to sign up but since it's 138 to 168 dollars, I just can't recommend that. Anyway that's my two cents worth. In any case, I got my money back so I'm happy!! Who knows, I may join one of these days. Right now in my head I can't justify paying 138 bucks a month. It is a great program though and it DOES WORK....if you want it bad enough!! read more

Is this really only 20 pounds???? cuz I honestly can't believe there could be that much change. I'm not so sure any more words are necessary but I'm sure the gang won't let me off the hook with only a few pictures. Sarah took me under her wing as did all the staff at elite edge and although most days I felt like I had more to loose than anyone in the challenge, I was never made to feel that way. The worst part of the workouts for the first two weeks was just getting up and down, but the constant encouragement certainly got me off the couch to get there when I would have really rather just finished the Hallmark movie. now I do pushups and sit ups and leg lifts WHILE watching the Hallmark channel. If I was writing this on paper right now the whole page would be drenched from the water works happening right now!!!!!. YOU GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK. My doctor was ready to put me on insulin for the first time and my blood work was so pitiful I had a whole leg in the grave. My sugars are almost completely normal now and I will be getting new blood-work done in January. I had lost almost 90 pounds a couple of years ago (The Kirsty Alley affect) and I had become so depressed that I had put it back on, my days were dark and If you now me now you couldn't believe that to be possible. Thank You Elite Edge for the amazing opportunity to take the rest of this weight off and the incredible program that lends itself to success. BECAUSE, however great looking good and feeling good and fitting back into my clothes was, it wasn't the immediate gratification push that kept me from the things I knew would sabotage my success, ie. Culvers, (I have to pass it every day to get home) donuts, and skipping workouts, BUT $400 was. I love you ELITE EDGE WAUKEE. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. read more

When you look to join a gym it must meet all these critical points, and this gym does just that: Convenient Location, Amazing Staff &. Trainers, Equipment, Classes, Environment, Community Convenient Location, the gym in Waukee, Iowa on Alice's Road and just down from Hickman Road. So accessible!! Amazing Staff and Trainers, hard to beat the group they have here at Elite. Staff is always looking for a way to help answer any questions you have or offer suggestions to help you on your weight loss path. The trainers are knowledgeable when it comes to working out let alone doing each movement correctly and then offering various alternatives if you are sore or cannot do something. Even when there are many people working out it still feels like you get one on one coaching. Equipment around the gym is everything you need to get a solos workout in. If your looking for row upon row of treadmills, ellipticals, or bikes, go to Lifetime. Elite Edge has the right mix of equipment for every thing you could need for a light or hard workout. Every day has a different workout that mixes up strength days and cardio days. There are so many options for the classes that they make it hard to say there was no time that could not work for you. Shout out to the noon class. I have been going every day for the last six weeks and been to various classes through the day and every class has one thing in common. It's the community, every person is there to try their hardest and push themselves. If you don't know where we are at in a cycle or have questions about a particular movement or rep everyone is ready to help, let alone the trainers are never far away. I participated in the Elite Edge Transformation Center - Waukee six (6) week challenge. I had been sitting around the house not doing much physical for the past year and needed a jump start. I am motivated by money, so the challenge guarantee of money back after losing weight and posting on Facebook appealed to me. What I was not expecting is the variety of exercises that were done on a daily and weekly basis. I had not used kettlebells prior to working out at the Elite Edge Transformation Center - Waukee. The instructors at the Elite Edge Transformation Center - Waukee taught me the proper way to use kettlebells for many different types of exercises. Kettlebells were not the only item used in exercising. Things were really mixed up day to day and week to week. I feel like I could have gained even more muscle over the six (6) week period had I not tore hamstrings on my left leg. The swelling did not go down for a week and the bruising for at least a week after that time. The instructors at the Elite Edge Transformation Center - Waukee were very helpful in finding alternative ways to exercise to get through the torn hamstring. Instructors are paid to be there not volunteers or those that get a discount to instruct. This means they are available to answer questions and give guidance. Where to start! I decided to try the 6 week challenge after watching my friend Katelynn kick butt in hers and find a new confidence that I only dreamed of. I was nervous and skeptical because I have joined other programs- at home and in the gym- and I failed every time. Both with the workouts and nutrition. They were missing something to keep me going and motivated. Although I knew my goals and where I wanted to be it just wasn't enough. So I took the leap and joined Elite Edge. The first day I expected a room full of fit people that would look and judge me with every move I made. I couldn't have been more wrong. Each person I have met was more than willing to help or let me watch their form because I didn't want to be the one to have the coach repeat the move although as I kept going I realized everyone even members asked questions. I lost 24.5 pounds During the challenge and the constant support from Sarah, Chico, Eric and the other coaches kept me going and on track. They made you feel welcome and always makes sure to say hi and you can't miss Eric's high fives(just get one in before jello arms set in) This is the best decision I could have made and have finally found a gym that I can call home! read more

I started my fitness journey over a year ago and lost over 100 pounds just by walking and changing my diet. Once I hit a plateau I knew that walking was no longer going to cut it so at my cousin's recommendation we went into Elite to try out the 6 week challenge program. All of the staff/trainers are super nice and helpful. I was able to reach my goal of 20 pounds lost about half way through my challenge. Elite has helped me learn how and what to eat so that I am fueling my body with the proper amounts of nutrients. They have also taught me many new exercises as well. I am now currently working on my second six week challenge to hit my final target goal. I recommend this program to anyone who has twenty plus pounds to lose. You don't have to be fit to workout at a gym(that's why they are here) and I promise you will not be the only one who is overweight or think they look dumb. Take it from someone who has never done anything like this before, you do not have to even have the slightest clue about how to do the workouts. If you need to get a jumpstart on your fitness journey well look no further! I started with the 6 week challenge which guarantees I would lose 20 pounds as long as I followed the darn instructions (FTDI). This is more than just a work out program; it will help you change your lifestyle and attitude towards working out and what you should and shouldn't be eating. I promise you will not go hungry either. I had a hard time eating everything I needed to in one day to meet my nutrient requirements. All of the trainers are very friendly and knowledgeable.  I have tried other places with personal trainers and this was a totally different, and for the better, experience. In the end I reached my goal(YAY!!) and am still holding strong to my new food and work out plan. You do have to put down a pretty hefty deposit but if you FTDI you will get the results you want and your deposit refunded. The deposit is an excellent motivator to help you stay on track. I have and will continue to recommend that others take this awesome and fun journey. read more

If you have been wanting to lose weight, end sugar addiction or get healthy and fit, this gym is for you! Don't think, just do it. I had seen the 6 week challenge ads several times over the last 2 years, but I had a million excuses. I had a plethora of health issues arise this last year and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. I was on and off prednisone and 10 other medications at the age of 29! I was tired of being sick and tired so I finally did the January 2017 challenge and I'm happy to say I lost 23 lbs! I no longer crave soda, coffee, candy, or alcohol even. I feel healthy and strong for the first time in years- I was even able to go off most of my medications! The gym staff is fun and friendly- a highlight in my day. I love the workouts and the intensity they offer. Every day was different and the trainers are extremely encouraging. I wish I could afford a monthly membership because this is the only gym I've ever looked forward to going to! read more

Who would have thought 13 weeks ago that I would be feeling so flipping great! As I finish my second 6 week challenge at Elite Edge Waukee I have been reflecting back over my journey. When I started August 15th I didn't even have the confidence that I could complete the first week let alone the first challenge. I wrote down on my application that I was worth it but not sure I totally believed it. I am here to tell you today that I now believe it! I want to thank Chico Baccam and Eric Howser for their unending encouragement and support. They are part of the reason I get up 5-6 days a week to go exercise. The team atmosphere is wonderful and there is not one person I encountered that was not helpful and genuine. This is only the beginning for me, I have now joined the gym and plan to make this my exercise home. Final weigh-in tonight, lost 22.9 lbs!!!! It was by no means an easy six week challenge and pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of. The first week was painful considering my body was not used to working out, but thank goodness for ibuprofen. After the shock was over, the workouts became more enjoyable. Met a lot of good people along the way and had some fun. The diet was a challenge especially when I still had to prepare meals for the family that included items I couldn't have. I'm not gonna lie, I had some weak moments like grabbing a few pieces of my son's cereal or his abandoned pie crust at Thanksgiving. I've learned that even with all the temptation and times I just wanted to quit the end results were worth it and I'm amazed at what I have accomplish. I have attended Elite for a little over 1 year now and have nothing but fantastic things to say! To start, the trainers and coaches bring amazing energy and passion to every workout. Besides a love for what they do, the trainers at elite really care and take time to get to know you personally. Don't we all love being greeted by name and receive high fives!? Now to what makes this gym see results! The instruction and workout structure are very unique, I felt like I had a personal trainer with me every day to help adjust my movements to maximize the results. AND here is the kicker... I don't really follow through very well on things that I start if there isn't any accountability involved. Exercise has always been at or near the top of that list of things. Now it isn't even on that list. 6 weeks ago I was an overweight, borderline diabetic, middle-aged man. Elite Edge helped me remove the first two of those three things from my life. Because of that, I no longer feel middle-aged anymore. I signed up for a year membership after only 3 weeks of my 6 week challenge because that's all the time it took for me to become addicted to this new style of life. I would aggressively recommend Elite Edge gyms and the Elite Body Boot Camp. They provide amazing motivation, guidance, and training and nutrition advice. This program WORKS! It is extremely challenging, but I was able to lose 45 pounds and over 14 inches in 12 weeks. The diet is extreme, but if you Follow The D*** Instructions (FTDI), you will be successful. The cost is around $400 and if you lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks, you will receive a refund. I was able to complete two challenges and will be receiving a refund. I received three months of "free" workouts and diet ideas. While the diet is unrealistic to maintain forever, I am able to use what I have learned to make healthier choices and lose more weight/maintain my current weight. I have also learned the correct form for certain workouts and will continue them in the future. I have gained a lot of muscle and can tell I am getting stronger daily. I would LOVE to continue with the gym, but I simply cannot afford the monthly membership. read more

Today I completed my 6 weeks challenge to lose 20 pounds. I lost 21. I was so pleased to be apart of this experience at elite edge. The trainers are very motivating and knowledgeable. They wouldn't let us give up on ourselves. I can't afford to join right now because of financial reasons but I will be back as soon as that changes. I gained more than a weight loss, I made friendships that are lasting and gained useful knowledge in working out, form, nutrition, and just how to be more motivated and to believe in myself. Elite Body Boot Camp really got me back on my feet and made me enjoy going to the gym. All the trainers there have pushed me to work my hardest and all the members have encouraged and held me accountable as well. The workouts are different each day and they keep me engaged. I have belonged to Elite Edge on and off for a couple of years but this 6-week challenge that I am about to complete is the first one that I have had my heart into. They have changed things up and I like how you know exactly what you can and can't eat with no gray areas. I have signed on for a year and can't wait to continue my journey. I know that if I go "missing" from the gym for a few days, one of the trainers will call me out and I love that accountability! Wow! What can I say about this place??!!! I started on this journey with hoping to lose weight and feel better about myself. I walked out of there today after my final weigh in of the 6 weeks challenge with pride and confidence! 21.5 lbs lost in 6 weeks is crazy but not crazy when you do this program. I recently completed my six week challenge and ended up losing 26lbs. Through the challenge, I learned good eating habits and gained the kind of will power I never knew I had. The trainers Eric, Chico, Brady, and Sarah kept me motivated and accountable. I can't thank them enough for helping me on my journey to a healthier body and mind. So what can I say about elite edge gym other than WOW! Is it I tense? Yes! Is it fun? Yes! Was it worth it? Yes!!! I started at the heaviest point in my life and lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks!! It was tough and I had to be dedicated, but the trainers are so amazing and they push you and keep you accountable that it was hard to fail from the beginning! If you are seriously looking to make a change in your life and need something to get yourself jumpstarted I would definitely recommend elite edge gym!!
