Everything from the initial quote through contract and execution was handled professionally and with great attention to detail. Iudi was responsive and answered all my questions quickly. He took the time to explain what needed to be done and, importantly, why it needed to be done. Our driveway had significant settling, including an area affected by an earlier sewer-line replacement, as well as drainage problems that caused water to puddle and flow toward the garage. Iudi paid particular attention to rebuilding the base properly and correcting the grading so water would drain toward the street. He also kept me updated throughout the project and sent photos as the work progressed. When unexpected issues came up during excavation, Iudi pointed them out, explained the options, and let me decide how to proceed. He was also thoughtful about smaller details, such as the driveway entrance and curb area. The project was completed quickly, and the finished driveway looks great. The new Cambridge Cobble pavers look excellent with the house, and the entire installation looks clean and well-constructed.

I didn't respond for a day, maybe 2, and I received a few text messages at the rate spammers do and a few phone calls. We've never talked outside of the messages attached. All I said was I received a quote for $14/sqft from a person that actually saw the job site. He goes to berate and be condescending to others because their price is low so he assumes it's not possible to offer quality, when he has no idea about the other company. He's greedy because he thinks he's the only paver guy in the game. Hah! His tactic takes advantage of unaware home owners but if you're informed and have already gotten 3 quotes with a wide range and know exactly what I'm wanting, I and others must not know and what we're doing, only he does. If anyone is interested, message me and I'll give you the breakdown of how I was able to get $14 and the exact contract structure with Belgrade pavers + speciality large format Belgrade stones. For him to just quote $18/sqft, never seeing the condition that may require so much less work, and be defensive about my response just goes to show you the attitude you'll receive if you work with him. Response: It may not make sense to you but it makes sense to me to leave a response because of your condescending comment and feedback. Many people start off at $18 and then somehow dropped to $11 after looking at the project. Hhhmmm A professional response could have been: "That's lower than I can do. Thank you for reaching out though." It's the condescension that I'd like to warn readers about.

But in general, he has not been able to provide a crew that delivers work matching the quality you'd expect for the price. His crew frequently doesn't show up, and he often doesn't know where they are. When they are on site, they drink alcohol and smoke heavily. One day they appeared to have thrown a party, leaving food and beer bottles scattered across my yard for me to clean up. They've also taken items from the job site belonging to the homeowners and never replaced them. They've made decisions that put people's safety at risk, with no urgency to fix them. The main steps to my yard had to be redone because they were all different sizes and sloping down. Instead of making a plan to ensure a rapid repair, they tore up the stains and left the site a hazard. He then asked for payment for materials and tools to redo his mistakes. Michael doesn't seem to have real control over his crew and only shows up when an issue is escalated or when he needs payment. As homeowners, we shouldn't have to micromanage a contractor this closely just to know what his own crew is doing or when to expect them. On multiple occasions, his crew told him they were on site when they clearly were not. We have cameras. He also asked me to cover the cost of tools he should already have as a professional in this trade -- for instance, a wet stone-cutting tool to control concrete dust and protect his workers from inhaling it. Despite asking multiple times, his crew seemed resentful when I requested wet cuts, even for their safety. At this point, having already been paid roughly 90% of the total cost, it seems he doesn't have the funds left to finish the job and is now stuck. Like other reviewers here, I've been more than patient -- but this project is months overdue and still incomplete.
