I cried when I got home. My husband was in shock when I walked through the door. He said, "what happened to your hair?" I'm not a Karen, nor do I suffer from histrionics. I don't cause scenes in a place of business; instead I turn to these media. Cherice did a disservice to me and my hair IMO. My previous hair stylist placed dark black streaks to contrast the white that was growing over the streaks. Instead, CS made 90% of my hair length so dark that I felt I had to cut my hair length bcs it would take so much time and processing to lighten; adding more damage; something I try to avoid. CS IMO tried to not take any responsibility for the result; I study body language. This was telling me she had nothing to offer; IMO she left it to me to decide she was no longer there to help me, she offered very little. My hair transition took a horrible turn. This took me almost 2 years to grow now its shoulder length no where near my desired result; I lost 2 years. Disappointed is a MAJOR understatement. I spent almost $300 on 2 visits. I will accept some responsibility, but I CANNOT SEE THE BACK OF MY hair. isn't that what we pay them to do, to be our eyes? Unbelievable is all I can say without going. Karen. My first time at Elite and they were nice enough to fit me in last minute before I return to college! I had a wonderful experience here, the staff was so welcoming and sweet. My stylist, Donna, was an absolute doll and did a phenomenal job on my hair, I love it! Everyone has been complimenting me on it and asked where I got it done! I have gone to Elite for the last 15 years ago. I tried a few different stylists before I found a wonderful fit, Jessica Ferguson. She is sweet, patient, and incredibly talented with coloring and cuts. She takes the time to get to know not only you as a client and a head of hair, but as a person. I moved out of state 5 years ago but when I come back to visit my parents, I always make an appointment with her and she remembers my hair likes/dislikes and even details about what was going on in my life the last time I met with her. She takes the time to explain what she is doing, how to manage my new style on my own, etc. SO helpful! Reasonable prices at Elite that can't be beat. I was in the area with a friend for a little getaway. I couldn't get over how bad my roots were coming in, and I had the urge to get an entire new look. So I ran across this salon, as I walked in I was greeted with smiles, and was given a tour of the entire salon for being a brand new client. There is one word to describe this salon: Classy. The design of the entire building is just beautiful. Each room has its own purpose, and that I love. So fortunately, a colorist had a cancellation and was free to do my hair. She was so friendly and listened to everything I had to say. The color came out exactly how I wanted! My hair is past my mid back so she was very accommodating and patient. It was finally time for styling. Have mind you I have long hair so it is very precious to me. She never exceeded the limits of what I wanted, which trust me, some people disregard and chop off too much. I ended with a pedicure. As I was sitting the owner came out and offered me something to drink. She was so sweet, and all the girls working engaged in conversation. The pedicure came out perfect! If I ever am in the area I will be returning. read more

Only place I go to, and only one hairdresser I'll use nice clean facilities with very nice staff.

I have been going to Elite since I was a little girl. Even though I now live 3 and a half hours away, I still make the trek back for Donna to cut my hair. Whether leaving decisions in her capable hands or showing her a very specific picture of what I want, Donna has always made feel heard and understood. She has of course proven a great friend, in addition to stylist, for many of these same reasons. Donna has also provided me countless tips for taking care of my hair outside of the salon. I have thin, tangly hair (made worse from chlorine damage) and her product recommendations have made a noticeable difference in my hair's health. I was new to Freeport last year. I always ask people I see in public who does their hair. 5 out of 5 said Cherish (sp?). They said she is the best colorist in town at Elite Salon. The first time I went for cut and color. I even had the formula my last best colorist in Eden Prairie, MN. She didn't use that system so we talked about what I wanted I was very pleased. What is unusual is that I have two daughters who live downtown Chicago and when they saw me after seeing Cheris they said "Mom, thank God you finally have a great haircut and color". Enough said. I will stay with Cheris (sp?). I plan to never see a gray hair and as long as I live here, I believe my chances here are excellent. read more

I was new to the area and needed a stylist, so it was time to do some Yelping. I stumbled upon Elite I HAVE FIVE THOUSAND WORDS IN MY TITLE TO MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT TO REMEMBER MY ACTUAL NAME Salon, and I thought I would give it a try. Today I learned three valuable lessons: 1. Never trust a salon with "Elite" in the title. This is just cause for a mullet and a botched French manicure. 2. Don't go to Lindy. 3. Better to go to your friends who are 150+ miles away than a random hair salon My negative experience extends beyond a botched French manicure and a passable mullet. The receptionist (the wrinkly one with the purple bangs..be warned!) was a lazy, disgruntled bitch who clearly hated her job and felt like projecting her negative feelings out to every living soul. It made me very uncomfortable, and I won't be back here again. read more

I have been a fan of Elite and the ladies there for a long time. I have NEVER had a bad experience, or felt that I was being treated poorly. I love LeAnne, but would never hesitate to go to any of the other stylists, as they all take pride in their craft.
