My wife and I went on a 50 mile Bike ride through the Yucatan. We went thru Valladolid, a great colonial city. Then finished the last 20 miles at an archaeological site (Ek Balam) and taking a swim in a breathtaking cenote (swimming hole/sink hole). I must admit, I only bike 25 of the 50 (rode in the car), but my wife did the 50 in the heat. This was a fantastic ride. Ellen, Jon, and Douglas from Elite Cyclery Tours were fantastic tour guides. My husband and I booked a MTB tour that included a stop at the cenotes and Mayan Ruins. Incredible day trip. I am a beginner bike rider, but my husband is advanced. For me the trails had enough challenges and technicality to keep me pushing forward and not get frustrated. Ellen was so nice and patient in giving me advice on how to ride. My husband followed Arturo at a much faster pace. Such great company. Ellen and Arturo are good people who are very experienced and know their stuff. We both had such a blast. Great experience even if you've never gone MTBing before. Not much climbing is involved, so a lot of people would enjoy these trails. The cenote was gorgeous, clean and refreshing. Not many people go to this location so it's like having a natural pool all to yourself. There are baby catfish in the water - super cute. They don't bother you. You can jump off the cliffs, float around, and use the rope swings. The Ruins were beautiful. Great view at the very top. HIGHLY recommend Elite Cyclery. You won't be disappointed.
