This is a small park in downtown Cancun away from the hotel zone. We visited due to an article I found for cheap things to do. It's very wooded and jungle-like even though it's in the middle of town. There's a big wide trail for people to walk/jog on. I was hoping to see some wildlife as we were walking, but there wasn't much at the start. However, as we continued, we saw some movement ahead! There were a TON of coatis! It was a family group foraging on both sides of the trail. They completely ignored the runners who went by us. One little guy even ran right by me! I had never seen these animals before, and it was such a treat!
There is a small museum which we didn't visit. We were too hot from the walk. There is also a small pond area where there are turtles and a crocodile. It's free to get in so it's a good place to explore if you want something more quiet and laid back on your travels. read more
