Amanda hooked me up with some gorgeous waves. Y'all, my jaw dropped when she spun me around to check out my locks... not exaggerating. Great staff, and I was in and out faster than anticipated.

I know she had problems with this, she had called 2 weeks prior to confirm the appointments and they were not in the system, so she had to rebook, which did make her very nervous. But the day of.. everything worked out fine. I grew up in McAllen, now live in SA, and had been in California prior to that.. so coming back down to the valley for hair and makeup made me nervous as to what we may be getting. I was pleasantly surprised! The salon was really cute and quaint. We were offered water or mimosas when we first arrived. The mimosas were really good. The stylists were extremely nice. I showed a pic off Pinterest of the updo I wanted. Carina nailed it. I was so happy. I absolutely loved what she did, and she did it based off a picture!! I would definitely recommend her for updos for any purpose, formula, proms, weddings, you name it. Rebecca did makeup for 2 of us. She was so kind, energetic and very informative. I explained what I wanted, the color of my dress and expressed my love of GLITTER, not shimmer, glitter. And she too nailed it! I will definitely come back to The Dry Room for future makeup and up do needs next time I need something and I am in McAllen.

We added on services when we checked in and I was assured that this would still easily fit into our time frame. The technicians were having problems with the add on services and I had to remind them of our deadline throughout. They didn't know what they were doing. They should be able to communicate when something isn't working out/or if they can't actually do a service offered in their menu. We were so late, I paid even though the total seemed high. In that rush I was not given an itemized receipt at checkout. I reviewed the one emailed to me the next day and called to let them know that they overcharged me. Their prices are posted, but the charges were completely off and inflated and not what we received. They agreed to provide a partial refund for overcharging and then refunded me a few random dollars instead of what was agreed to over the phone. I've given them the chance to make it right. Now I recommend going anywhere else over dealing with this incompetence.

I came in for a work event expecting a simple styled look and left extremely disappointed. I…read moreoriginally booked "Cut & Style" for $55 but was told I needed the $75 "Up Do," plus $10 extra for a basic braid--which felt unreasonable. Then once we started, they told me they didn't have the bun donut or the rhinestones the style included. What I ended up with was a simple curled ponytail I could have done myself at home. On top of that, the $75 service includes a wash and dry, which I never received. I had to argue at the register just to avoid being overcharged. I left feeling robbed. A salon should be properly stocked and transparent about what they can actually provide. I truly hope management reaches out, because the quality of service I received was not worth what I paid, a refund is in order! I had been to another salon when I first got to the area and I was paying WAY TOO MUCH for salon services, which really surprised me because I moved from a big city to this much smaller town and I couldn't believe I was paying more for my hair than I ever had anywhere else in my entire life...and I've lived in Washington, DC!!! The prices here, though, are great! I felt like the prices were fair, I got the services I requested and even more, my damaged hair that was caused at the expensive salon, was cut and now my hair is much healthier!! He left me there while he was working with me to go do some errands (around one hour) with my hair wet,, after an hour I called him to see if he was coming and he replied to me in a very rude way. I waited for him to get there and left some money in the chair for his unprofessional and undone service and started walking outside, he followed me calling me and when he knew I wasn't coming back he started cursing and telling me "what kind of christian you are", I didn't speak one word. We get there at our scheduled time to find him with 2 other guests. He triple booked us. He had no capes and no towels. Very unorganized, unprofessional, and unprepared. To top it off he was conducting personal business on his phone and asked to use our phones to conduct more personal business (house renovations/prescription refills). It's disappointing as we have gone to him in the past with no problems, but we assume the way he conducts business has now changed.
