Carlos is nice, but his crew did not treat our home with respect. The asbestos removal went fine,…read morebut we also had Carlos' crew rebuild our ceiling with drywall, which necessitated moving our belongings from room to room to clear the space. They moved our things carelessly and caused a lot of damage. Every piece of our wood furniture was scratched with deep gashes, glass bottles were broken, and paintings were scratched. My wedding dress was thrown on the floor next to broken, leaking oil bottles. We have a number of lego sets that were thrown into a pile upside-down. It looked like a natural disaster had come through our apartment and it was devastating to see all of our belongings thrown around and damaged. The crew left staples in the walls and window sills and damaged a lot of our walls (see pictures). When I brought this up with Carlos, he tried to gaslight me, saying that all of the damage was preexisting and that the dust everywhere wasn't from his crew (it was obviously drywall dust). He ended up giving us a couple of hundred dollars off the price, but it was nothing compared to the thousands of dollars we've had to spend having our wood furniture refinished and hiring other contractors to fix the damage they caused to our walls. I deeply regret hiring them.

They got the job scheduled on super short notice, as in: "can you do it tomorrow?" "Yes, we can do that." They arrived on time. They were friendly, cheerful and explained everything well. They finished in a timely fashion and took great care of our newly planted garden. They rinsed the plants multiple times during the process. It's now been over a week and the plants are still doing fine. The house exterior hasn't looked this good since it was new siding. We have areas of vinyl and aluminum siding that did not pose a problem. They even did a nice job on the gutter covers and the windows. We highly recommend this company. They will be our only call next time our house needs a bath! We're also likely to bathe it with more frequency now that we know what a difference it makes (plus at their price, I can afford it once a year).

So when I saw the forecast finally looked good, I used a few websites for painters in Frederick to get quotes. Only one company stood out. Gene Aiello was very responsive; I was in a time crunch and despite only having had emailed him the business day before, he took the time to look at the project scope with me to discuss and got the job done immediately. The fence looks great, they left no evidence of the sanding/peeling in their prep, and the coated boards look uniform and I am very happy with their work.

Renovations by Ed provided estimates for both the repair and replacement so that I could make an informed decision.
