Called the service manager she said it's probably because I was going up the hill. 6 hours later on my way back to work from break car loss power again. Then went into limp mode. Then engine light came on. I sent an email and called. They came and got the car the next day on Thursday. I had to keep calling for updates. No one ever called to keep me posted. Every morning I woke up I checked to see if they called. Fast forward to next Friday (today) I called and asked about the status. Service manager said the car has been ready and that they tried to call. I have no missed calls from the dealership. I asked what was wrong with the car she said a "sensor". Picked the car up and made the trip back to Asheville again (1 hour). 30 minutes into the trip engine light came on again. Car lost complete power. Could not go past 60. Then 40. Then 30. They lied to me about the cars condition when I bought it, and they lied to me about fixing the car when I came and got it today. I asked for my money back from the very first day the light came on. The car is under warranty. I call and ask for a manager I keep getting the run around, or sent to voicemail. Do not go here. Deal Depot of Greer South Carolina.

I wish I could give a zero, 1 star is too good for this place. Do not buy anything from them, if…read moreyou do you might as throw your money in the trash. My daughter bought a car from them and it spends more time on the side of the road than actual driving on the road. The only reason she is keeping it is because I cosigned and she doesn't want to mess up my credit. I feel bad for her because she has 3 small children and is constantly paying for repairs, on top of her trying to make her payments. I'm leaving out details out of respect for her, but she has receipts.

Beware! Under new management since October 2019! From what I understand, they used to be great,…read morebut all previous staff is gone, and they could not even fix a simple coolant leak on my van. The whole experience cost roughly $600, took several days, and they didn't even fix the leak. These pics are from AFTER they messed with it and it was still leaking. They ended up telling us we had a blown head gasket and to just scrap our car or get a lease from their car lot! What a scam! Also, the van was stalling out in the middle of the road after taking it there. We took it to a competent mechanic, and it turns out, the gasket was fine, and the leak was coming from a simple hole in a hose that costs about $20 and 20 minutes to fix. All this after Gud Buy put in a radiator and water pump that wasn't even necessary in the first place. They also found that Gud Buy had left the MAF sensor unplugged which caused the engine stalling. That was a huge safety risk for my wife and kids who use the van most. To top it off, when we talked to a new manager named Charlie Rose, he instantly became furious and started yelling, claiming no refunds, and it was our fault for not bringing the van back right away. I explained that I tried to bring it back in immediately when it was still leaking in their parking lot, but the mechanic claimed it was a head gasket and to scrap the car. He starting yelling over me and told me there was nothing to explain so I was wasting his time. I was very polite in our call and he just kept yelling and then hung up on me. I'll be posting the recorded phone call to youtube very soon.

1 STAR -- PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING A VEHICLE HERE…read more I purchased a 2019 Ford Escape from Affordable Auto in Greer, SC in October 2024, and my experience with this vehicle has been a nightmare from DAY ONE. Literally on the FIRST DAY I purchased the vehicle, it cut off on me and had to be picked up by a tow truck and taken back to their shop. I was later told that it needed a new starter. I had just purchased a vehicle and immediately could not drive it. While my Escape was being repaired, I was given a loaner vehicle that was INFESTED WITH ANTS. My vehicle remained in the shop for approximately two weeks. After finally getting my Escape back, THE VERY NEXT DAY there was another problem. I was told there was an issue with wiring connected to the engine that needed to be replaced. Once again, my newly purchased vehicle went back into the shop. I was then given a Chevrolet Trax as another loaner. That vehicle had a serious and frightening problem of its own: anytime I drove over approximately 40 mph, it would CUT OFF. I would have to wait several minutes before it would start again. I was eventually given a THIRD loaner vehicle, which also had mechanical problems. So within approximately the FIRST MONTH of purchasing my Ford Escape, I had already dealt with multiple mechanical problems with the vehicle I was actually paying for, multiple weeks without my vehicle, and THREE problematic loaner vehicles. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. In April 2025, approximately six months after purchasing the Escape, the TRANSMISSION had to be replaced. At the time of purchase, I was required to purchase a $1,250 warranty/service contract. Thankfully, that warranty did cover the transmission replacement, and I paid the required deductible. Fast forward to June 2026. I began having major problems again and initially believed the replacement transmission was failing. I took the vehicle back to the transmission shop, and because the replacement transmission was still under warranty, I was told it would be addressed if the transmission was the problem. It wasn't. This time, the ENGINE needed to be replaced. I took the vehicle to a Ford service department and attempted to use the warranty/service contract. The claim was denied. I then paid to have the vehicle towed to another mechanic and attempted the warranty process again. I was told that the engine would have to be torn down to determine the exact point of failure because only certain internal components might be covered. That would leave me taking the financial risk of paying for the teardown and potentially still being responsible for the entire repair if the failed component was determined not to be covered. The estimated cost to replace the engine was approximately $6,000. At that point, I had to make a financial decision that I NEVER thought I would have to make. The vehicle was worth less than approximately $3,000, I still owed approximately $10,700, and I was facing another roughly $6,000 repair. I voluntarily surrendered the vehicle. And I want to make something VERY clear: I NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT ON THIS VEHICLE. My account was never behind and the vehicle was never pending repossession. I surrendered it because after dealing with major mechanical problems beginning on the VERY FIRST DAY I purchased it--including a starter, wiring issues, a complete transmission replacement, and ultimately an engine replacement--I could no longer justify putting thousands more dollars into this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle in October 2024 and surrendered it in 2026. During that time, I kept my financial obligation and made my payments, even while dealing with repeated mechanical failures. What bothers me most is that the warning signs were there from DAY ONE. A vehicle should not have to be towed back to the dealership on the same day you purchase it. I understand that used vehicles can have problems. I do NOT expect a used vehicle to be perfect. But there is a major difference between normal used-car maintenance and purchasing a vehicle that breaks down the first day, requires multiple repairs within the first month, needs a replacement transmission within approximately six months, and ultimately needs a $6,000 engine replacement. I am sharing my experience so that other consumers can make an informed decision before purchasing here. If you choose to purchase from Affordable Auto, PLEASE have the vehicle independently inspected by a mechanic of YOUR choosing before signing anything. Read every word of any warranty/service contract you purchase, understand exactly what components are covered and excluded, and keep copies of every repair order, tow bill, invoice, text message, and document. I wish I had known in October 2024 what I know now.
