I'd take stars off for the wait - had to wait around an HOUR on a Tuesday night around 6 PM. I get rush hour and all, I just want ambos to be quicker to arrive. However, that sometime cannot be helped. It's about the WORKERS. Once they arrived, Enrique and Carolina were GREAT. Enrique was comforting and efficient with my Mom, filling in all the blanks, getting symptoms, etc. Carolina, the health worker professional got vitals quickly. They got us packed up and off to the hospital to get better! Seriously, I can't say enough about the PEOPLE. My Mom got to the hospital quickly and calmly, driving carefully once we were underway. Both Elite people were friendly, caring, efficient, organized and just awesome. Theirs is a tough job, and they did it really well. read more

Missed appts because of lateness, terrible riding conditions with old dirty vehicles where your feel every bump. Like riding in a work truck. If they cannot offer punctual arrival for pick ups they should not offer them. Would NOT recommend using this unreliable, uncomfortable, uncaring service to anyone. read more

Elite Ambulance 708-402-8198 "Carroll" or some woman the "receptionist" was extremely rude and gave my a loud deep "sigh" when I told her I was calling from a residence and need my wife to get picked up. Moments later said they aren't transporting or picking up people from homes tonight or any night or day. She then told me she doesn't know why and all she does is work there. When you hire poor equality workers that's what you get for service.... Junk , poor service. read more

Well I personally would never use this ambulance company. I'm driving down the road minding my own business. My Lane is merging to the left so I put on my left hand directional way beforehand the ambulance in the picture would not let me merge. He almost pushed me off into the side of the road. So I'm behind him and I pull up next to him and the jerk flips me off. So not only do you have reckless drivers. They obviously don't care and think they are all high and mighty. read more

This company is a horrible nightmare! Very unreliable rude drivers and rude dispatchers! I was dropped off at my doctors appointment! And no one never came back to pick me back up. I'm handicapped in a wheelchair my doctor office closed at 5pm I set outside in the rainy snowy cold weather for 5 hours! Each time i would call elite for eta on my ride the kept getting longer and longer went from 60 minutes until never! I had to call the police! Which never showed up either! I'm recovering from a knee replacement! And receiving rehab at a rehab facility! I will never trust this company for transportation ever again! Use these parasites at your own risk!!! read more

I worked one shift with Elite. I helped about six patients, and the very first patient definitely did have Covid-19. No one at Elite even offered me a mask, and I had to reuse my personal mask in my pocket for twelve hours. I was supposed to have trainers for three shifts. But, after my first day ended, I was shown with just a single partner and no trainers at all for the following day. At that point, I had not yet been taught how to properly fill out paperwork. I barely understood how to clock in. All the stories I had heard about Elite were bad. They had been so desperate for employees, they came to my EMT class with merchandise to try to woo us before we graduated. I only started there reluctantly, to use my license. After the f-you of them putting me on the schedule without trainers, I quit. Nearly a year later, I got a W-2 from them with the wrong first name. It wasn't close. Just another name that started with a T. When I emailed their human resources, they mostly blamed me. How could I not have noticed the name when putting in my hours? I told them I brought them my EMT license, driver's license, and a voided check, and I filled out my own name correctly when doing the tax paperwork. They never sent me a corrected W2. read more

i have used them 4 times to transport my uncle every time they did a great job. My uncle is not the easiest guy to get along with especially when he is sick. And he loves these guys, he always jokes around with them and they're just good people. Every group of people we've had (four different groups) have all been great so I totally recommend elite. read more

I would put a no star rating if I could. I have had two run ins with Elite Ambulance Drivers that have shown a complete lack of good judgement and therefore would never trust them in an Emergency Situation. The Driver refused to move over in her lane to allow us to both pass. This went on for a half hour. When she saw me on the phone and thought I was calling the police, she then put on her emergency lights in order to look like I was impeding her from getting to an emergency situation, which of course would make me into the bad guy. Really, it took her a half hour to determine that the person she was picking up was in an emergency situation???? How can they employ rigid people who manipulate situations and use their position to gain the upper hand. Not a fan of this company and won't and hope I never have to use their services for myself or anyone I knw. read more

Not dependable or reliable. Was told I would be picked up at 12:30 - they didn't come until 1:30. At 2:24 I was told Elite would pick me up from my doctor's office within 90 minutes. At 4:15 which is close to two hours later - I called the dispatcher to be told the wait would be at least another 45 minutes. Use this lying, unreliable company at your peril. driver almost hit my vehicle on a neighborhood street with a patient on the back of the ambulance. I followed the ambulance to take a picture to report and he just laughed at me. the dispatcher seemed like they didn't even care at all. I would never trust a company like for any kind of service. haven't received any updates from company as I did request. unbelievable !!!! read more

I rode in a old van that has rust in it, makes a lot of noise, my mom was the passenger they were coming to transport from loyola hospital to st joseph rehab center, my mom is in a wheelchair, he felt every bump. She was already in pain just having staples removed from her neck and back she was already sore, and became more sore and in pain from riding in this old rusted out van. They need to get some brand new vans, so the person being transported doesn't still feel there pain from coming from one place to another place. This company is way out in plainfield, we are in the city of Chicago IL, and they need a location here. To Elite Ambulance Company, get it together! You have enough money to buy a fleet of brand new stable vans for the drivers and especially the patients and the passengers also. Throw these old vans in the metal scrap yard asap. Do better Elite Ambulance! If anything hsppens to my momma feom rhe unnecessary bumpy ride from the hospital to the rehab center I am going to sue you because you have more than enough money to transport patients and passengers. Terrible experience. I used them to transport my wheelchair-bound father to a doctor's appointment. Over the phone there was no discussion of paying in advance so I was surprised when the driver--after my father had already been loaded onto the ambulance-- told me I had to pay before he would drive us. So I had to give my credit card info to a dispatcher over the phone, which delayed our departure and made us late to our appointment. I rode in the back with my father, which the driver suggested due to very little leg room in the front of the ambulance. Only once I got in the back did I find out that the seatbelt was inoperable. The driver recommended I tie the two pieces of the broken seatbelt "in a knot" to secure myself. Their timeliness was also very bad. They were 20 minutes late to pick dad up, and as mentioned above the issue with payment held us up even further. When I called them for the return trip, they'd said they'd be there in 30-45 minutes but it took them over an hour and 15 minutes to get us. Terrible company. Don't make the mistake of using them. Rookie mistake on my part. read more

On-time pick up from home to hospital was OK, but the driver clearly did not actually know where the local hospital entrance was located. I had to direct him. You'd think a service like this would be faniliear with the local hospitals. But worst of all, after I scheduled and fully paid for the round trip and got agreement from the dispatcher that they'll just wait for the hospital to call when I am discharged, even if it is the next day because I had to be admitted, they went ahead without any contact and canceled my will-call pick up. I was stranded for several hours at the hospital trying to get home. Will never use them again, nor shoud you. read more

Worst ambulance service! They will charge your CC immediately! They were supposed to be 1hr-1 /2 hrs was ok with that I called twice to find out location of ambulance and apparently we're there or near LIES!!! I Had to cancel my moms appointment. I called next day to get credit back they said 48-72 hrs waited all week also no credit back! I called today apparently it is supposed to be 7-10 business days! Not good if you expect to use that money to help with cost of your mother's wake! I will never recommend this thirsty service! read more

So far, so good. I called to schedule a pick-up (and possible round-trip) for when I go to my post-operative follow-up appointment (I had hip surgery, and can't do stairs). The lady on the phone was very helpful, and explained that I could schedule a round trip with them, and then, if I got the okay from my surgeon to bear weight on my leg, I could cancel the trip home with no charge. She was very helpful, and their price seemed to be quite reasonable, seeing as it's a private ambulance service. I'll report back on how the actual trip goes, but so far, I like them. Okay, I did take them both ways, and John and Anthony were very patient and helpful. They came on time to pick me up, and though I was told, when I called for the return trip, that it would take 20 minutes for them to arrive, it only took about ten minutes - John and Anthony again, and again they took good care of me and got me home safely. In addition, when my surgeon re-scheduled my appointment, Elite easily accommodated the change in date. I'll be sure to use Elite again if I need a private ambulance. read more

The driver got lost going within a 1 mile radius...our address did not register correctly on her GPS...she lied and said my father tried to call me and I did not answer (he doesn't even know his own name..most of the time)..she pulled over for approximately 45 minutes..with my dad sitting in his wheelchair. .I asked her why she didn't just drive down the street and read the address numbers and she replied I wasn't taught that way..on top of that she didn't bring my dad's walker..which I know nessecarily her fault. .she said she would go get it and would come back..guess what..she never came back or called!! read more

A driver rear-ended my mother, during regular driving without sirens or lights. She had to go to the ER. The car was totaled. Her car was stopped and he just drove into the back of it, he simply was not paying attention. He wasn't following closely, this wasn't a case of everyone slammed on their breaks and it was an unfortunate accident. It was extremely negligent and reckless driving. read more

My elderly mother fell and broke her hip at her home in downstate IL. After having surgery at the local hospital, we (my sisters and I) decided it would be best for everyone if we moved mom to our city for rehab (aurora). She could not sit up yet. I called four different ambulance services and Elite was the least expensive and most helpful when I called. The paramedics that picked her up were very nice and she was relaxed and calm when she arrived in Aurora - which is a feat in itself cuz mom has dementia and we thought she'd probably forget we told her it would be a very long drive. They were worth every penny. I recommend them highly! read more

On December 18, 2013 approximately 825 in the a.m. Ambulance number 8504 almost hit me in the crosswalk. After making eye contact with the driver he proceeded to curse me out and say some nasty names to me. I called their corporate office and waiting on a response hopefully they will teach their drivers to be more careful while driving. read more

Our mother had acute back pain and could not sit. We had to call a private service to take her to Rush Medical, where all her doctors are. 911 would have taken her to Northwestern, the closest hospital to her. We called Superior Ambulance first and got the most unhelpful, rude gal saying, "nothing available, call 911 or call back in a couple hours"! Really??? I hung up and called Elite Ambulance Service. Kirk was concerned and helpful on the phone. He said an ambulance would be there in 20 minutes...and they were. Shannon and Ken were kind, respectful, professional and caring. I would advise against using Elite Ambulance. Their service is totally unacceptable and they don't care about the people they are servicing. They basically take your elderly parent and dump them at their convenience and pick them up whenever they feel like it, not at the scheduled times. They treat their clients as an inconvenience instead of paying customers. My elderly mother is in a rehab center and requires transport to her doctors' appointments. The first time we used them - they picked her up way too early and had her at the doctor's over an hour early. When we called for pick up, they told us it would be an hour even though we had scheduled round trip. After that horrible trip, we complained to the rehab facility who passed it along to Elite. Elite asked for an opportunity to prove themselves. The 2nd time we used Elite, they were on time and were waiting for her after her doctor's appointment. We thought great - problem fixed. Today was our 3rd and final time using Elite. Once again, they picked her up way too early and she was dumped at the doctor's office 1 hour and 15 minutes before her appointment. When we called for pick up, once again they told us it would be an hour. When I complained about the wait, they told me that we need to call 40 minutes BEFORE the doctor's appointment concludes. Find another service - do not use them. read more

I called Elite Ambulance in Mokena when trying to get my disabled husband home from O'Hare Airport after a trip home from Florida. We had plans to take a hotel shuttle back to the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. My husband was too weak to climb the 3 stairs into the shuttle. I initially called a private ambulance service close to the airport based in Elmhurst. I explained our situation to the woman who answered the phone. After telling her my husband was too weak to sit in a wheelchair all the way home, she said they couldn't accomodate me. Little did I know that was a good thing. I just googled private ambulance services since the woman I spoke to at the other location could not give me the name of another service. The woman I spoke to at Elite was very nice. She said it would take between 45 mins. to an hour to reach our destination. We were willing to wait. The ambulance unit #533 arrived within that time frame. We were greeted by two very nice young paramedics. I don't remember the drivers name but the paramedic that sat in the back with us was Michael. They were very friendly took excellent care of getting my husband constantly checking his vitals on the ride home. We have 12 stairs in our home and they carefully got him up to his room and into his bed for me. I would definitely use this service again and luckily they are not far from where we live. Oh, by the way, they only charge a third of what the service in Elmhurst quoted me. I will reccomend them to anyone looking for this type of service. Thank you for your care. read more

My Mom lives in a nursing home in Bensenville. She had a doctors appt. in Elmhurst. The nursing home called a medical transport for her which arrived 45 minutes late. She would have missed the appt. if the doctor had not kind enough to wait for her. Another appt. 2 weeks later. This time the transport arrived on time but when I called for the return trip the dispatcher said it would be a wait of 1 1/2 hours. She would have peed her pants be then. Use somebody else. read more
