Got two new HVAC units installed last winters as the sales guy was very upfront and some of my neighbors had got their HVACs from Elite too. Install crew was professional. However, after that I had to make two service calls and both times the experience was terrible. No one showed up at scheduled appointment window, no proactive outreach about running late, customer service line was non helpful about status too. read more

I scheduled a service appointment a week in advance. I got a window of 8-4pm for a tech to arrive. I called around 345pm since I hadnt heard anything and was told the tech was in transit. An hour later I called back abd was told he is still in transit and a manager would call me. An hour and a half has now gone by abd no call...no tech. I called back and was told another manager would call me. 2.5 hours late now and no call...no tech. I called again and was told they couldn't find my appointment. Poor service not responding to my calls shoddy work would not recommend this company to anyone

This company is price gouging it's customers including me. I have been a loyal customer for about 30 years. One of my central AC units that is only 6 years old and was installed by Elite Air needs a new coil, the coil is covered by the 10 parts warranty but I must pay the labor. They quoted me $3,500 labor to install the coil, I asked how long it would take and I was told about 5 hours. Doing the math that is $700 per hour !!!!!!!!!!! Most high end attorneys do get $700 per hour. I called the office and tried to get a explanation of such an outrageous price but was told they charge a flat rate and not an hourly rate yet they pay their technician $20 an hour. For the second year in a row they are many hours late for a service appointment. The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because the work is decent. Last year they were about 3 hours past the 4 hour window this year closer to 4 hours. My appointment was 12-4, just get a text they will be here close to 8. Absolutely think twice before calling this company for service. 1st Experience: June 2022- I called Elite Air to do a very basic maintenance check on my AC system, which was working just fine the day they arrived. It was just a tune-up visit. When they were finished on the roof, I was told that i needed to replace a fan motor as well as a switch, and my AC would not kick on after that. The AC worked fine, and it was 68 degrees in the studio 5 minutes before the tech showed up to do a Check-up on the system. 5 minutes after he left, the AC did not work, and my employees ultimately ended up working without AC in a 80 degree studio until our landlord was able to have another company come out to check and repair the system from whatever they did. 2nd Experience: September 2022- Elite Air called me to set up our winter maintenance check up on our Heat system. This was already paid for in our original maintenance plan, so I figured this is already a service i paid for, so lets give them a second chance. Wrong move on my part. The first tech that came out said his ladder was bent, so he couldn't access the roof. In my opinion, thats a piece of equipment that should be checked before arrival knowing that it is a rooftop unit, but I wasn't upset because things like this can happen. a few days later, the second Elite tech shows up. He gets on the roof to service an already working heat system, and tech comes down saying that we will need to replace the inducer motor. Now the heat does not kick on, as it did literally 5 minutes before the tech got up on the roof. Magically they found another problem that just so happened to begin the day they came out, at exactly the time the tech was on site. Terrible experience, will not use them for any repairs, and will never use them again for anything. If the owner reads this, please don't bother to respond with your copy and paste response that We encourage you to contact our Management Team if you would like to discuss further. I did call, and spoke with Joshua, and he was no help at all. I was just told that he'd note the account. After expressing further disappointment with the service, I was told again that he would note the account. Teach your employees that noting the account is not going to resolve the issue with your techs creating problems with systems to sell jobs, which is obviously what is happening once they are on site! Terrible service, lack of communication with the customer, and fraudulent activity will bring this business down. I'm positive that I'm not the first customer this has happened with! They are very helpful. We have a leak in our air conditioner and needs services every year. This is our third year yet by then and they never pressure us to purchase a new unit knowing we are going to move soon. Update: had our furnace replaced. I wish I waited because they charged me arm and a leg for their furnace. I was impatient to wait for my contractor and thinking I was getting limited life time warranty that it was good deal. Oh boy, not until my contractor told me what should of actually costed me. I could have saved more than half what charged me. My advice...always get a second opinion. Their tech guys are good however sales person is sales person...and they will take advantage of people who doesn't know anything about furnace and ac unit. Good thing I didn't replace my AC. Tried to initiate business with this company multiple times. First time they came out to do a free estimate on my parent's house in Hamilton. They came out and walked through the house and told me that I could either get a central heat pump or a minisplit system but failed to give me a quote on said systems. Even after I called to followup and speaking with Joe Maltavo, he failed to give me a quote. Second time I reached out was because I'm having issues with the compressor in the heat pump for my condo in Plainsboro. I've already had the original installer from Service Today come out as well as paid a technician from Conway to come out to inspect the issue and they both said that the compressor for the heat pump needs to be replaced. However Service Today has become unresponsive for 2 months since realizing that they need to replace it under warranty and Conway quoted me $1300 just for labor which seems really high to me for replacing a part under warranty. So I reached out to Elite Air asking if they can give me a ballpark estimate on how much it would cost to just replace a compressor but they said that only administrative personnel are in the office and refused to let me talk to someone technical to give me a ballpark estimate over the phone. Instead, they required that I pay another $89 to have them send a technician out so that I could talk to them. That is ridiculous. They can't even be bothered to have a 2 minute phone conversation to earn a customer. Just another example of a company out to gouge customers. read more

Beware of the glowing reviews and the all of the shiny trappings of good service. We have been with this company for a year-and-a-half now, and nothing is as it seems. Their technicians are polite and seem good, but management is running a money-making machine. In 30 years of home ownership we have relied on lasting relationships with plumbers, electricians, and HVAC contractors, but we have never had an ongoing relationship with a company that behaves like this one. As one of their plan customers, we have 2 maintenance visits per year, one for the A/C and one for the heating, included in the cost of the plan. During their maintenance visit, if something needs to be repaired, they present us with an exorbitant flat cost for the item which we must approve. There is no breakdown showing the cost of the part and the labor, and as this is a small and needed item in the ongoing operation of our house, there is no realistic opportunity to shop around. As a plan customer, we get a discount off their fabricated price. Lucky us. They have us over a barrel. All of our past servicers have charged on a material plus labor basis and we have never paid charges as high as these. We paid over $300 (after discount!) for a part that can be purchased on line for $50 and took less than 15 minutes to install. They combined into our "pre-paid" maintenance visit the installation of a part from a previous service call. As plan customers, we had already been charged $95 for the service call that diagnosed the problem (another new charge for us), and mysteriously, the needed part turned up just in time for our maintenance visit, but not before. Again, we were charged a flat fee of over $800 for a part that can be purchased for $300 and took less than 30 minutes to install. On top of that, they arrived for the service call without one of the filters that was included in our service plan. They never returned to replace that filter and we could not turn on the humidifier for the season. As plan customers, we have access to round the clock emergency service. We called one night when the A/C was down in the hope of getting a serviceman out the next day. Although the automated system says that you will receive a return call from a tech within 15 minutes, our call was NEVER returned. Three times now, we have been quoted a time window for service and, after waiting around, had the tech call to say he was on his way and would arrive after the window had closed. Each time, the tech told us that the window Elite showed on his paperwork was longer or different than the window Elite gave us. The first time this happened, we thought it was our mistake, but after three such events, we know this is all part of the Elite charade. We had air conditioning units replaced by Elite. The loose screws, metal shards, empty aerosol cans, etc, still litter our attic. Less than a year later, both units stopped working and it took a week-and-a-half to get parts. When the tech arrived to install them, he did not know where they went or what had transpired so far and finally left saying he had been given the wrong parts. Oh, and we still need to make that appointment with the building inspector to get the permit closed because, apparently, that is our job. Responsible homeowners rely on their HVAC contractor to provide knowledgeable, reliable, and honest service at a fair price over the long haul. The trust in this relationship is especially important because, while you may be able to shop new systems or major replacements, whatever you choose is going to require continuous service and maintenance for the life of the system at significant ongoing cost to you. We feel Elite Air abuses that trust. read more

OUTSTANDING! We knew our furnace was on borrowed time and of course it conked out during a crazy cold spell. They came first thing the next morning to give us a quote, and were there two days later to install since the unit had to be ordered. The crew was incredible, and took every possible precaution to keep my house clean. They were neat and courteous and when the job became way more involved than originally thought, they worked right through without a complaint. What we thought was a half day job became an all day affair, from 8:30 am to 5:45 pm, and these guys never wasted time, and never complained. Best of all, their price was way lower than other quotes we got and we couldn't be more pleased with their efficiency service. After suspecting Atlas Heating & Cooling was trying to rip us off (see the review I posted for them) saying we needed a new furnace, we made an appointment with Elite Air. C.F. and his apprentice, C.S., replaced the our furnace filter (replace every 3 mos), added a 'jumper' to the thermostat, and checked for other problems. They also examined the AC unit on our roof which Atlas had not done. They answered any questions we had and explained HVAC systems in general. They fixed our heat for $160, but said the HVAC unit would need replacing soon bec of a freon leak in the AC unit (if freon needs to be replaced more than twice a year should replace unit). However, their price for a new HVAC unit was only around $3500 as opposed to Atlas' $5000. I will definitely be calling Elite Air back again. read more

I was very happy with the price & installation of my system. The response time & service technicians are great. I am a bit disappointed that my system is only 4 yrs old & already requires freon (sp?) because there may be a leak in a line. And the diagnostics to determine if there is a leak is very expensive.
