I was really looking forward to trying Jholano's in the Gables, after seeing many positive reviews,…read morebut unfortunately our experience didn't live up to them. The space itself was small but clean. When my husband and I walked in, there were no other customers. The young lady behind the register was looking down at her phone and didn't greet/acknowledge us when we came in. Even once we were standing in front of the register, my husband said hello first, she looked up but still didn't greet us, just slightly grinned and waited for us to start ordering. When we did order we had to repeat ourselves three times because nothing was being written or entered as we ordered. I thought maybe she was new or this was one of her first jobs, but the whole interaction felt very disconnected. I ordered one of the egg sandwiches. The bread was fresh and had a slight sweetness that I actually liked, but overall it was not anything I'd order again. My husband ordered the 6PM in Tuscany, which was around $26. Unfortunately, his sandwich was missing several of the listed ingredients. We hadn't requested any modifications, so after tasting it, we actually checked the menu again because something seemed off. The chicken cutlet had no crunch, the sandwich was bland, and was just missing so much he didn't even finish it. I really wanted to love this place because of all the great reviews I had seen. Maybe we caught the Coral Gables location on an off day, but between the service and the food not matching what was listed on the menu, this visit was unfortunately a disappointment. I genuinely wish Jholano's well, but based on the experience we had a couple of Sundays ago, I wont be rushing back.

The sunset location is more suited to to go orders than it is dining in, but I wouldn't expect much else since it's a sandwich joint at the end of the day. I LOVE the prosciutto and goat cheese but really you can't go wrong with anything. I've tried 6 different types and all were great, but it seems their chicken parm sells often as I saw a bunch being prepared during my visit. I'll have to add that to the list! lol It's not a cheap sandwich, but you get what you pay for and one sandwich is good enough for two people imho. 5 stars well deserved!

It tasted stale to me - there was no moisture in it or crunch. The salad had browned lettuce in some parts. Just too basic for the high cost. Maybe a different type of sandwich would be better. The ventilation is awful. I walked out, smelling like food in the middle of the day, and because of this, I probably won't be back.

They also have an outdoor pickup window. I will be back to eat more cubanos!
