This place is awesome. I liked every part of it. As you come in, you are greeted by someone. They take your payment and they give you the 411 you need to know to get the most out of your visit. They had a hayride, train ride, pumpkin painting, photo props, scavenger hunt, playground areas, three mazes and more! lol There we're beautiful verses area and the staff were so kind and friendly. My grandson got a free mini pumpkin that day as well. I would definitely go again. We all had fun and enjoyed every part.

We went to the Elgin Tree Farm today. The people there were worn out and their fields were empty! Well except for Charlie Brown type Christmas trees. I wish we had been warned that there were like 6 trees to choose from. We would not have wasted our time heading out to the fields where the tractor dumped us never to return. Also, if you have someone who can walk but is a bit gimpy, like uses a cane or something. This is not the place to shop. There is no way to get on the trailer. The steps are way too high and the farm people are not accomdating like...you could drive out there...or something. Not willing to settle for a crappy tree and an ADA unfriendly place, I looked for another tree farm and found Evergreen Farms. It was the end of the day and I called. We got here pretty close to closing time but I had called ahead and they let us do some tree shopping at dusk. There were a lot of trees to choose from.

It's a fun place for kids as well for adults to go for pumpkin fun/ pumpkin festival. Each kid gets a mini pumpkin to decorate with admission. They provide crafts and place where you can sit down to do so. Train ride, hayride, maze, playgrounds, gift shop and animals will have your kids exploring for a while. The owner is a very nice person and he enjoys what he does. I wish him good luck. Christmas trees are smaller sizes but they look nice. Despite some low reviews this place is actually nice. Some people are just hard to please or they just so whiny. I would go again and would recommend to visit. Again, I like to support local business.

Had a wonderful time under the Texas blue sky and October sun! What a lovely , fun , family place to go! It has everything. Train ride, hay ride, pumpkin painting, llama petting, corn field maze, playground, I could go on and on. All for just $10. Try the mango ice! Yum!

There's nothing quite like going out and finding that perfect tree and cutting it down yourself. We've been doing it for many years it's become a tradition. They'll take you and the family out to the fields in hayride fashion behind a tractor and let you roam and roam till you find the "one". Then, once back you get the tree shaken and wrapped - all for only $11 per foot. There's also farm animals to see and a great Christmas shop where you check out. Happy Holidays!!

I went with 6 friends ranging in ages 20-55 years. There's plenty for kids to do: 3 mazes, things to climb, games, play scapes, crafts, several types of animals. We felt like kids again taking photos in the pumpkin patch and with the antique truck and tractor. A couple of my blind friends did a maze. All ages of people did the hay ride as transport to playscapes and picnic tables on the property. We enjoyed the live animals and Christmas store which was huge. The entry cost is $8 and includes all activities. There's snacks, too. The prices are cheap. Cash and credit accepted. The have real restrooms, too.

I like the set up, everything is so easy to access, perfect for little ones because of the size and layout of farm. We went on a weekday, less people and less hot, so that was a huge plus. If you are on the budget and don't care about hayride and face painting then weekdays would be an option, because for $9 you get enough to experience. Now I avoid going to some places because they charge you so much and offer some basics. If you like country, you will enjoy it here. Ms. Mary was so personable and sweet. I had a nice conversation with her and I can tell they put love and lots of efforts in what they do. Very nice people and nice farm. I would come back here even it takes some driving. I would recommend this little gem. P.s. it was a pumpkin give away day. A nice bonus!

Parking is free but this place can get packed quick so plan accordingly. There are many different food options throughout the grounds as well and good shade coverage, something they added more of this year. We felt like their shops offering was smaller this year but we're not completely sure on that. There are additional things you can do if you buy tokens for them such as: a petting zoo, train ride, and pumpkin smashing. We bought some tokens for pumpkin smashing and it was definitely worth it. The bigger the pumpkin, the more tokens it cost so we maxed it out and got some very large ones and let it rip. It was a lot of fun and we recommend this activity to anyone who goes. Lastly, we searched for and selected our perfect pumpkins for carving, which also were decently priced and healthy/good shaped. This is an extremely fun place to go on a cool fall morning with family or friends and is worth the drive out to Leander no matter where you are in Austin, highly recommended.

This one is much bigger with rides for the kiddos, plenty of photo opportunities, food trucks, live music, a small petting zoo, a train ride, and wait for it a beer garden. Our crew went on Halloween day and we were surprised at the lack of crowds. We were able to park close to the entrance and we never waited to go on any of the rides. The rides had seen better days but our granddaughter had a blast on the tea cup, train, and slide rides, and that's all that matters. We snacked at the Jamaican food truck and their jerk chicken & shrimp plates were very good. The beer garden provided us with a Sam Adams Octoberfest beer which was a perfect accompaniment on a beautiful fall afternoon. Upon leaving all the kiddos received a gratis small pumpkin. There were plenty of other larger pumpkins for sale. I can see how this would be an expensive day if you have a couple of kiddos. The entrance fee is $15 pp and the rides average $6.00 pp so it does add up. Take note for next year First Responders, Military and Veterans admitted free every Friday.

What intrigued me was that there were so many activities occurring at once for all ages. The company work event was not just for the adults, but also for kids and elders. Entry fee was $15 for ages 4 and up. $0 for babies 0-3, and $0 for elders 65 and older. The entry fee was reasonable for all of the activities that the festival had to offer but some activities had an additional fee. There was a little train ride, a petting zoo, and numerous vendors selling clothes, jewelry, etc. My team loved the food and drink options, my favorite was Pecos Petes! They sold a massive mug/cup for $25 and allowed refills all day. Pecos Petes had a selection of root beers, teas, and lemonade. The cup was a very cute memento as the back of it had the Dripping Springs pumpkin festival on it. There were swings and a talented bubble artist who kept the kids entertained for hours! The pumpkin festival was filled with numerous photo-ops for families and friends. My favorite was the horseshoe toss along with the lasso toss! Overall, we had a great company party, it was nice to be in such a festive environment. I am glad that parts of the festival had trees and tents to provide shade as it got pretty hot out there. A downside was the parking. On the website, they do stress that the parking is an issue and they even offer coupon codes for ride shares, so at least they are trying to make the public aware.

There is also a throwing ax spot that also has soccer balls so they loved kicking those too on the bull's eye. Then there was a feeding birds and feeding goats section. So much to do and we didn't even do it all. There was also a craft market and food trucks. Such a nice setup. And later in the day there is music and shows which we missed. There are a bunch of spots to take photos with skeletons and lots of pumpkins and gourds to buy at reasonable prices. You pay $15 to enter and parking is free. Evergreen Farms Christmas Trees - Why? Did they find these on clearance and swoop them up to resell?

There are a few things that Austin seems to struggle with: pizza for one and Christmas trees…read more I understand that I cannot expect the same quality of tree as from other parts of the country with a more suitable climate. Still... I chose Evergreen because it is a family run business whose patriarch worked for the Department of Forestry. Who would know evergreens better? The atmosphere and experience were similar to most tree farms I've visited. You hop on a wagon or walk to the field of trees. It was a beautiful day so I made the short walk. When I got to the field, however, I wasn't sure what to do next. A wagon full of people had arrived minutes before me and apparently the staff was already helping them, hence there was no one to guide me. After a few minutes, though, I approached someone who looked as if he worked there. He told me that all the saws had been claimed so I just needed to wait a few minutes until one was returned. As I walked through the field I was disappointed to find that very few trees were proportional and pretty enough to be a Christmas tree. After about an hour I just picked one, even though only one side of it was suitable, figuring I would put the bad side against a wall. I didn't feel like waiting for the wagon to return so I dragged the tree back to the main area to purchase. Once I got there though, again, there was no one to instruct me. I finally figured out on my own (and after asking other customers) that I had to drop my tree at the shaker-thing, go inside the building to pay, then retrieve my tree elsewhere. The line inside snaked through the building. Only one cashier, so it took forever. When I got back outside I figured out where to retrieve my tree. The man who helped me (the aforementioned patriarch, I believe) was the only one doling out trees and he didn't seem very happy about it. After twenty futile minutes of trying to do it alone, I finally asked the patriarch if someone could help me get the tree on the roof of my car. A young kid obliged but didn't offer to help tie it, so I did it myself, driving home no faster than 40 mph and still stopping every 5 miles to readjust the tree to keep it from falling off the roof. Up until this point, few issues were the fault of the tree farm. (These places are DIY and rather intuitive, so direction need only be minimal.) But when I got the tree home and cut off the ties, I was shocked to see needles fall all over the floor. We pulled out clumps of needles and dead branches for days. The shaker-thing clearly had not done its job. The tree was more disproportionate and had more spots than I had noticed at the farm. Overall I think we did a decent job hiding them. But next year, we may have to drive to North Carolina for our tree. :)

It was an amazing experience for our family and a new tradition that we will do for years to comeread more

Despite all that, there were a few things the kiddos enjoyed: - The bounce house. - The corn patch was a hit. - Pumpkin painting (free with a ticket). - Watching some animals behind the fence (but no, this wasn't a petting zoo). - The $8, 2-minute pony ride.
