Lo and behold, I opened Yelp and boom- I'm in the Uber to Sunshine Bakery (did I translate that correctly?!). This spot did the job- quiet, quick, cute, warm and served up some tasty eggs. Had to translate the menu as the woman serving us didn't speak English but there were pictures to help. Turkish tea was nicely brewed and the eggs, tho not served scrambled like I thought I had requested, were really satisfying. I'd def recommend this place if you have time to burn on a layover and are looking for quick breakfast that is open early. Nearly every other 'reputable' spot didn't open till 10a.

Yup, that was it. Here's what is awesome about this comprehensive buffet for about 33Euros. The maitre'd greets you and offers coffee or tea, juice as she seats you. She does so in a warm and assumptive manner anticipating your needs. The hot line portions are small, so the plates will look patchy when more guests arrive. However, the staff are uber quick to replenish and preen the line to make sure that it is instagram perfect when you return. Otherwise, they are not intrusive and keep a watchful eye to engage guests quickly when needed. The smoked fish, gravadlax was a tier above the norm in quality. So was the prosciutto that was shy of Iberico Ham--just missing the acorn notes. The blood and liver sausages were spot on. Even the condiments here were elevated--large capers, pearl onion, cornichon, wholegrain mustard, dill mustard, horseradish. The Rollmops were delightful. They had a rocking juice bar that included pear juice. Yummy! The strong coffee came in a caraffe--a perfect amount for me. They had pretzel rolls and other whole seed breads and breakfast pastries. Be that I was focusing on a high protein breakfast, I passed. The fried eggs had a lovely orange hue indicative of free range eggs. Did not save room for the omelettes. There was an English Breakfast selection, a plethora of yoghurt options, a full on fruit bar... all of which I passed because I was fixated on the fish! Having conferenced around the world, and started my long days with a high protein breakfast buffet such as this, I am pleased to report that this hotel breakfast is in a tier of its own. Sure, it is pricey, but given the convenience, service, selection and execution, I look forward to eating here the next few mornings.

The offering was not enough for the amount of people who were there and after a short while most of the main meals were gone. All the sauces tasted of being made from powder from bags. The deserts tasted also very artificially and terrible. This is NOT COOKING and the prices the y charges are outrages . What I also hate is when restaurants put lots of really cheap booze on the counter of their bar. They have put about 30 bottles of cheap booze on the counter as decoration. Go to their website and follow the instructions as we got lost by ignoring the directions on the website. This place serves modern German cuisine and the menu was fabulous. I had the grilled watermelon with smoked tuna for entree and it was delicious and the flavours were so delicate and went together beautifully. For main course I had the mackerel filet with scampi and a saffron risotto and I could happily have licked my plate clean. It was tasty, full of flavour and delicate all at the same time. The wine list is extensive and we have a nice bottle of Sancere which went perfectly with the food. For dessert I had the dessert variation and the chocolate fondant was exquisite. The service here is good and the location is amazing next to a golf course and I could have spent a whole night there sitting outside and enjoying the wine and company. It's a bit out of the way but you won't be disappointed you made the journey. It's a beautiful location with fabulous food. It's not cheap but I have had more expensive dinners that have failed to impress like this this one :-)) everyone in our group of 5 loved their meals and we had all our plates go back with nothing left.
